DeskJet 970Cxi: Deskjet970Cxi prints only one color

My Deskjet 970Cxi prints only red in the color mode.  The cartridge is new and everything is cleaned.

When the cover is open, the pointer on the cartridge holder stops at the position "OK to print cartridges".

I tried reinstalling the driver, but I don't know that I managed to do that.  I got the idea that HP doesen't supports this printer more they told me to use the driver that is built into the software to my Windows 7.

Any clue?

The question is probably a very old #78 cartridge, even though it was new in the box.  You can verify that this is the cartridge by gently dabbing the printhead on a damp cloth.  A working cartridge will have a strong task of cyan, magenta and yellow.  Your cartridge will show only magenta.

You can check the date of end of warranty for the cartridge as shown in the document here.  So that the 78 cartridge has not any expiry as such that they may not print in one color if stored for an extended period.  There are a few "home remedy" measures that could be taken to recover printing cyan and yellow, but the best solution would be to get a new cartridge (fees).  You can find the end of warranty date (two years from the date of production) in the bottom right of the back side of the packaging unopened.

If you want to retrieve the cartridge, you can try one or more of the following:

  • Treatment of the cup of tea: get a glass of water and put in 1 "more or less very hot (but not boiling) water.   Deposit of the cartridge into the Cup and let soak for about 10 minutes.  Then, take the cartridge out and Pat the nozzles on a wet tissue.  Wipe the contacts with a clean or similar coffee filter not fluffy.  Install the cartridge in the printer and print a test page.  (You can print a hardware test page in accordance with method 4 of the document here.)
  • Sock of treatment: get an old sock that bothers you not ruin.  Put a wet cloth against the nozzles, then put the combination in the sock with the nozzle pointing in the toe.  Now go outdoors to an open area and quickly swing the autour sock in a large circle for a minute or two.  When done remove the cartrdige and gently pat dry the nozzles on a wet cloth, then put it in a printer and see if things have recovered.

[Did I mention the best bet is to get a new cartridge?]  ]

I have a HPlaserjet MFP 1005. I want to put to print only one page which isusually necessary. How do I?

    Hey @neelp,

Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I see you try to set your Laserjet P1005 MFP always print one page only. This isn't an option through Windows PC or Apple, but there are two ways to work around this problem. The first would be to pay attention to what is being printed by activating the mode print preview before you print. The second solution would be to have only a sheet of paper in the printer at any time.

If you have questions about the verification of print previews please let me know which operating system you use on your computer but also what program you use and I see if I can help you with that. If you are not sure what your operating system is you can click here to find. Even if you have any other questions please let me know.

  • HP Color LaserJet CM1312 nfi no print only one page (document)

    Hi all.

I'm in big trouble with Color LaserJet 1312 nfi (on 2 PC). Printer still print ONLY a single document (regardless of the number of pages) that I can't continue. I have to restart computer or the user to login and I print a new document. Scan OK.

    PC config:

    Windows 7 x 86

connect via the USB port (but LAN made the same mistake)

    PCL6 driver

    I tried:

    reset to factory default

    the latest firmware update

connect via LAN instead of USB

Print via another PC (printer sharing)

connect the printer to the other PC (USB, LAN)

    install the drivers of PCL5

turn off Mopier mode (not available)

Win XP - OK (printer so no problem)

    Any ideas?

  • Photosmart 7510 prints only one page when I copy 2 sided-multipage document

I have a two-sided 4-page document. I have placer place in autonatic tray, select Copy 2 head to head 2 and press "Black." All pages are scanned, but only one page (2 sides), one out. I expect all 4 pages 2 faces out. What's wrong?

    Thank you.

You are right. This printer does not the ADF duplex scan. It will print a copy of the 2 sides but the face page of the first page front and back on the face of the first page printed copy pages and page of the face of the second duplex page on the back of the first page printed from copy. What a waste. Well, I need now to decide if I want to keep this printer or send it back since it's the LPB brand.

  • Print only certain colors PostScript [JS, CS3]

Is it possible, via a script to output only certain colors of ink when printing to a Postscript file? When do it manually, you can choose the colors to the exit, but I was not able to find a way to do this via a script. Any ideas?

Well I think I have this working now. Here is the code:

// This script works by doing a few things. First, it will delete any ink that isn't actually on the document and in use.
// Then it will prompt the user to choose what inks they want to output. Once the script has those ink choices,
// it will decide, via four if statements, what colors to output. There are four if statements to handle all the combinations
// of cyan and black outputs. The other colors checked (red, blue, etc.) will be printed from within all the ifs.
// Once it knows what colors to output it creates a preset based on those criteria, and then uses that preset to
// output the file. After the file is printed to Postscript it deletes the preset and saves and closes the file.
// If the preset doesn't get deleted for some reason, it will simply be overwritten the next time the script runs.
// I figured it would be cleaner if it would delete it each time.

    inklist = myDocument.inks.everyItem().name;
    checklist = [];

    //creates dialog box
    var inkDialog = app.dialogs.add({name:"F4 2up LH", canCancel:true});

  • HP Officejet Pro K8600: Power light + resume light flashing after printing only one Page

After trying to print a document of several page, the printer produced a page and then the power light and the resume light (page feed) Flash. I also tried to print multiple copies of a page, but that leads to the same result.

I can get the lights extinguish by turning printer off then turn it back on. But it will always print that one front page the same lights begin to Flash. I did six times in a row just to print a six page document.

I went through all the steps in troubleshooting HP software. Not like searching for cleaning print heads, re-seats cartridges, etc., fragments of paper. Nothing seems to work.

    @Bob_Headrick

Thank you for your response. However, none of the suggestions could solve the problem. ALTHOUGH the light guide troubleshooting that you provided was close to the solution.

I came across the solution by reading the PDF manual for the printer. On page 77, it describes the power led + resume light flashing. One of the causes for this using EXPIRES of CARTRIDGES of INK, CARTRIDGES RECHARGEES or NON HP CARTRIDGES.

WARNING: It is important to note that if your printer is still under warranty, DO NOT DO THIS. HP notes in the manual using this substitution can void the warranty against damage caused by the use of faulty ink cartridges, obsolete or not allowed.

    SOLUTION:

While the power light and button resume flashing, press and hold the power button and press the button repeat 3 times. This replaces the "apparent" internal error message to use the cartridges you have installed. It may also cause a print cartridge alignment page.

    MY OPINION:

It is important to note the HP cautioned against it, it FIXED MY PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY! I know that the cartridges that I have installed are in agreement. Like many HP owners out there, I take advantage of sales and have stored on cartridges. I guess some may "expires" before you install it. In my view, the idea of "expiring" cartridges also somewhat falls into this column to "How can do us buy more ink?" What kind of market we create where it's cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy a new set of cartridges/toners? BUT it's a slippery slope... let's not go there.

  • DeskJet 940c now prints only black and the roses of the cartridge three colors. How to fix?

Windows XP, no error message. New drivers, then software update from HP, reinstall printer driver. New cartridge is same as cartridge that has begun to do that, so I don't think it's cartridges.  The former was relatively new and unused.

I tried everything for Self-Help to find out the cause and get the solution.  Will appreciate the known solutions.  Thank you.

After continuing checking the new drivers, etc...  I tried something that should be obvious.

The cartridge three original colors in full, 50% was only pink printing.  Changed to NEWLY opened cartridge: who would have thought a cartridge newly opened with 90% of ink indicated, would not print pink, while the first new cartridge print pink single - as well...

Dazzling idea : tried yet opened a 2nd cartridge three colors, and it prints correctly.

A cartridge on the set, never opened, was obviously NOT COMPLETE with all the colors...  It happens, but this is the first time for me since 1996.  Thank you for reading, the original - thought I should know all, "user error".  If this never happens to you, you will have heard about this already!  I hope it doesn't happen, lost two days on this subject...  See you soon!

  • My HP Deskjet J410A 1050 prints only in black and white

Once I set my printer to greyscale, and when I changed it back, it prints in black and white. I printed a test page and there is nothing wrong, all colors are displayed. What is the problem with my printer?

    Hi @RogerTheBaws,

I see by your post that you can't print in color from the computer, but you can print a color test page.
    I can help you.

Try printing from another application to see if you have the same results.

Check the application printer settings, to ensure that the levels of gray is always disabled.

Download and run the Print and Scan doctor. It will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically. Find and fix common printer problems using the tools of diagnosis HP for Windows?

If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the printer software, the pilot might have gotten damaged.

Install / uninstall software & drivers.

Select your operating system, click Next and click on the software to download and install.

  • Unable to print only one page in a multiple page / image tiff file using Windows Photo Gallery

IT seems that for Windows Vista Photo Gallery is able to display multiple images in a TIFF file format when printing, but it does not select the image to be printed. Whenever I print a tiff image file two pages to print.  Since most of my photos are in TIFF format, and each contains two images one by one another at a reduced resolution and normal resolution I'm only interested in printing the first image and not the second.  I really don't want to convert all my photos in a different format.  Does anyone know if there is a setting to fix this?

    Hi KKosin

Welcome to the Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

    I suggest measures are:

    1. try to print the image in MS Paint, steps to follow:

    i. Click Start, in the search box, type in the paint

II. open the document to print

III. click on print and check

    2. change the format of an image file and check if this problem is still happening. You can change the type of file to the JPEG/JPG format. Steps to follow:

    i. right click on the file type

    II. select Rename

III. the extension .jpg or .jepg replace

IV. and then try to print

  • When I specify 3 copy prints only one

When I indicate the number of copies and I put 3, my Photosmart HP 7520 print one.

How to print last page first?

Welcome to the Forums HP grinter,

By your post, I see that you are unable to print several copies.
I can help you with this issue today.

In your printing application, select file, print, number of copies, select 2. Uncheck the Collate box.

You can now change the number of copies. Collate should now stay disabled.

Try to reprint the document of several pages.

If she does not always print multiple pages then try the following steps to change the settings of the driver of the printer spooler.

Click Start and then click Printers and faxes.
Right-click on the icon for the printer for your printer driver, and then click printer properties.
    Click the Advanced tab.
Click on print directly to the printer.
    Click on apply and OK.

    Try to print again.

    Good day.
    Thank you.

  • OfficeJet6700: Print only two color cartridges

My Officejet 6700 is only an impression with 2 cartridges 3 colours.  Print cartridges Magenta and yellow, but isn't the Cyan.  I ran tests, cleaned and aligned the printer but when I print my tests I see the blocks where the results of the Cyan cartridge should appear are empty.

By reading the support forum, I am inclined to believe that there is a problem with the print head.

Everything about the printer works very well and it would be a shame to have to replace the printer.

    (1) what else can I do to confirm the problem and the cause of the problem?

    (2) if it is the print head, what are my options for repair or replacement?

    Thank you
