Is it because my printer is old and not compatible with the airport, do I have to download the drivers or software, or I do something wrong? any help would be great

  • 2050 Deskjet and Mac OS x 10.10 Yosemite A

I recently bought a MacBook Air with os x 10.10 Yosemite.  Got a deskjet 2050A already, so I downloaded the OSX driver on the site of HP, but impossible to print.

I am sure that the driver is installed as I can scan correctly and when I try to print, the print dialog box says "HP Deskjet 2050".  Shows the print queue that prints the document, only nothing comes out of the printer.  I have no error message, the computer thinks everything is ok.

    Can you help me please?

    Hi there @TimL1981

    Welcome to the forums

I have seen your post about how you cannot print to your Deskjet 2050, from your Mac running Yosemite. I have a few steps that you should get the impression.

First of all, make sure that the printer will make copies successfully before trying the software next troubleshooting steps.

    1. Mac OS X: how to reset the printing system
    2. Repair disk permissions
    3. Restart the Mac.
    4. Follow this guide: install your HP printer driver and software for Mac OS X
    5. In addition, to download this driver: HP v3.0 for OS X printer drivers

    Now try printing.

I hope this helps, let me know the result

  • HP deskjet 5650 / Mac OSX 6.8 printer dialog box MIA!

I'm having problems of access to a way to change the printing preferences for my deskjet 5650, specifically the "print in grayscale" command I want to change color...  (at least, that's what I think the problem there...) I know that this is not a problem of ink)

I must have changed somehow, perhaps before I changed laptops and went from Tiger to Snow Leopard operating systems, but I have tried everything that I can understand mine and I can't print color documents on different sites even though I used to.

    Hello

As an older printer, that model is no longer supported on Mac OS X 10.6 and above, so that the question seems due to use generic drivers (which are very limited).

You can find the following information:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01856359

Even if the printer is not compatible with the operating system, you can check the 3rd party HPIJS print drivers that seems to support your printer, I guess that it should provide better reults.

Be sure to install one of the 3 required downloads and follow the instructions of the printer set up in the page HPIJS:

    http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/OpenPrinting/macosxhpijs#Downloads_Required

    Hope that helps,

  • Deskjet 4480 Mac osX 10.7 driver needed

Are there print drivers available for osX 10.7 for the Deskjet 4480 printer?  I've only been able to find the drivers for osX up to 10.6 for the 4480 printer.   I tried to install them and they do not work with 10.7, so right now, I can't print from the upgrade.

There is no version of the driver HP with a UI for 10.7 (such as HP Print Utility), sorry.

We will work on OS X itself:

    1. download and install the 10.7.4 Combo update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1524

    2. open Finder and go to Applications > utilities > disk utility.  Open it.

Select your Macintosh HD on the left, then click on "Repair disk permissions" on the bottom and let it finish.

  • HP Deskjet d2330

The printer prints blank pages. Completely, I filled the black and even impossible to print black cartridge.  I went through all the troubleshooting, cleaned, aligned, reinstalled, rebooted, unplugged, replugged, running tests, and all I can think. The strange thing is, I bought a new printer, another d2330 and will have exactly the same problem with it.

In short, 3rd party manufacturers do not produce the same quality as a genuine HP cartridge cartridges. The HP cartridges are designed to work specifically for printers model, so it was designed. This may not be always the case with a 3rd party vender. Im not saying that they don't work, just that they could cause more problems then a HP cartridge. similar to what we can met here.

Its possible it could be a failure of the electrode on the rechargeable cartridge. As the HP cartridge works fine in the printer we know that's not the printer that is causing the problem. According to analyses of rechargeable ink 1 / 3 cartridges fail out of the box. (Source: http://www.hp.com/sbso/product/supplies/printer-ink-refill.html)

Hope this helps you better understand the differences with the refillable cartridges. Only suggestion I have for the rechargeable cartridge would be to contact the manufacturer of the cartridge to see if you can get a replacement.

    Good luck

  • Cannot get mac to install my accept my HP Deskjet F4480

I bought a computer mac laptop and have a mac desktop computer.  The HP Deskjet F4480 came as a promotion for purchase.  I installed the disk that came with it and who says series HP Deskjet F4400 Mac OS X v 10.4 10.5; version 10.0.  My desktop runs Leapard Mac OS X Version 10.5.8.  My laptop is running the same version.

The printer does not appear, so I check the box that says the printer is not listed.  It appear the printer.  I get the following error message when I try to add a printer:

Your device is not listed, it is not supported, it is not supported by the installer.

I downloaded the disk HP downloads software, but I get the same message.

What can I do?  Is there some type of patch or setting on my computers that needs to be changed?

As the drivers of your printer (printing and scanning) are loaded in 10.6, I would uninstall all software from HP which is on your Mac.  Use the application uninstaller in Applications HP > Hewlett-Packard.

Then, do a software update (Yes, again).

Reset the printing system, then add your printer via the sign '+' in print & fax.

One last thing - is known to be good USB cable and you're not going through a USB hub, right?

    Hello

The printer is compatible with the Mountain Lion (10.8) or a later version, it is not compatible with your operating system. to get all the features, I suggest the printer back and get a previous model that suports of Lion.

You may be able to circumvent such assistance an another print driver, such will offer only the printer and features advanced features not so much that the ink levels, management of printers, etc.

    To so proceed as follows:

1 install the package on your Mac:

    https://support.Apple.com/kb/DL907?locale=en_US

    2. connect the printer to your Mac and make sure that it is turned on.

    3. from system preferences > printers and Scanners, click the sign more and select your printer.

    4. click on the reduction in the drop-down menu, then select printer software use.

    5. Select the HP Deskjet 3050 as another driver and click Add.

For scanning, you try the 3rd party software VueScan which should be supported on Lion and support your printer:

    Hello ppriemo

  • HP Deskjet 980 cxi - no duplexer on MAC OS 10.9.3

    Hello.

I use a HP Deskjet 980 cxi on a Mac equipped with the latest version of the software: OS 10.9.3

My problem is that I can't print using the duplex unit, so on both sides of the paper.

I already read some solutions, such as installation of HP software that lets manual duplex printing, but I want to use the auto duplexer that comes with my printer. (Under windows, the printer prints a paper, then the printer brings back the book itself, it transforms and prints on the other side without having me to do anything.

    Is this possible?

Thank you for your help and sorry for my English (I'm Italian).

    Federico

    Hello Federico,.

Officially, the printer is not compatible with 10.9, so the generic driver used are not always certain characteristics:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01856359

You can try 3rd party HPIJS print driver, make sure you install one of three downloads required below:

    http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/HPIJS

Then, go to printers and scanners, click the sign more and select the printer.

Click on the dropdown next to the use, and then click Select printer software.

Search 980 and select your printer HPIJS driver.

Now try printing to the newly created queue.

Note: although it does not list 10.9 as it should work my past experience.

  • DeskJet 2540: cannot convert mac wireless usb printer

    Hello

I'm having a problem setting my printer all-in-one Deskjet 2540 on my macbook (osx El Capitan). After basic implementation through usb connection, I was able to connect my printer to my router, which makes possible wireless printing. I was then able to print wireless from my phone using remote control all-in-one app.

However, I now want my macbook to establish a wireless connection to the printer instead of the usb connection that is used for configuration. I can't find the option to convert a usb printer to a printer that is connected to the wifi. When disconnecting from usb, laptop computer notes the connection with the printer is lost. To install my printer, I use the HP Utility software, in which I can't find such an option. Also, when passing through Apple-> system-> printers and scanners preferences I can't find an option "convert to wireless. I also read a method via Finder-> applications-> HP and then an icon for installing the software & should be there? In my case, there is only the HP Utility icon which directs me to the same program in which I could not find the option.

What I was looking for, and where can I find it?

Might be a little exaggerated description, but I hope that this makes it extremely clear...

  • DeskJet Pro 8600: Ink black print only via Mac OS x 10.10 Officejet Pro 8600

My Pro Deskjet 8600 is low on ink Cyan but I am trying to print a document Word in black and white using only the black ink cartridge, which is full. I found the setting on my Mac and you have selected "Black Ink Only", but the printer says that I still need to replace Cyan print. Why should I Cyan to print in black and white? Please tell me that I shouldn't keep all 4 full ink cartridges just to print in black and white? See the screenshots below.

    Hello

The ink is required for the printer to use, you need to replace an empty ink cartridge to continue printing.

You can read the article which explains this requirement:
