  • When start the computer can be turned on but nothing happens

Original title: computer does not start

    Hi all

Have a dual processor Intel running Vista with 2 GB of memory.

When start the computer can be turned on but nothing happens. That is the screen is not lighting, brief flashes KB on and nothing. I hae take the drive HARD case and implemented it is powered, but there is no sign that it is accessed at all when the machine is running. It seems that ot could be the HARD drive, but I think that there is a rom on the motherboard, which is accessible in the boot process and I wonder if this could fail. I don't have a spare drive to test what happens then is anyway I can be sure if I need new hard drive or m/Board?

While on the question - if I need a HARD drive, Vista is the one that crashed and I do not have a Cd with the machine when I bought it. Nor has created a cover of one! I have an old XP Pro upgrade disc and an original copy of Windows 2000 (so I can switch to XP). This is my best option? I can't afford £ 140 for Windows 7.

    Hi Eddie,.

Since this is a hardware problem, you should contact your computer manufacturer or a hardware technician to understand the defective material.

And also, since Windows Vista was preinstalled on the computer you must consult the manufacturer of the computer for resettlement or a recovery DVD.  Also survey about data recovery on hard drive crashed.

  • ESSO-LM - Installation Package MSI when starting the computer, instead of login

    Hello

I'm on the migration project ESSO of the V10 V11.1.2.2 customer asked the deployment of the package to the large community of users without user intervention.  Logoff scripts have been changed to remove the old version.  And they already have scripts to run when the computer reboots, as well as during the user logon.

My question is can I install new MSI packages during the reboot, without user having to connect and wait for the package must be installed after it connect?

    Thanks in advance

I guess I answered my own question by testing in the laboratory.  I tested the MSI installation when you start the computer up without any problem.  The conclusion, there is NO dependence of the user with the installation of ESSO-LM for the computer to start.  The advantage is to push the installation without the need to have the user performing the installation...

Marking bad sectors on a hard disk takes time so be patient. Delimiting does not repair a defective sector. He places pointers to the reader by saying the system not to read or write to these areas that have been damaged.

If the number of defective sectors continued to increase after using the procedure above several times, then you should replace the disk. If an important system file is written to a bad sector, you can corrupt the registry hives and lose the entire contents of the disc.

However if have run chkdsk you not see more new bad sectors, then the reader can work for you for years.

You can access event viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, and Event Viewer. When searching for the meaning of the error, information about the event ID, Source and Description are important.

A tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. You will see a button resembling two pages. Click on the button and close Event Viewer. This places a copy of the report to your Clipboard. Paste it into the body of your message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.
