Desktop HP ENVY - 750-170se CT: webcam HP Desktop Windows 10 - what should I expect?

I need a webcam for my HP Envy - I have a 27 in. HP Pavilion monitor... any suggestions?

Hello

I think you need to buy an external webcam. Well, basically none of them will work, such as:

  • HP ENVY 750-175se: stuck on "Set up Windows" - fresh install of Windows 7

    Hello

I have a new install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my desktop HP Envy. I installed myself, everything went well. However, now when I am setting up Windows (on the screen where it says "Select a username for your account and your computer name to distinguish it from the network"), the keyboard nor the mouse work.

The mouse on the background light is on and both work until I have start Windows (ie. the BIOS) and both are plugged into the USB 2.0 ports. I tried different USB ports around the system, but that did not work at this stage (well that as well the mouse and keyboard worked for the previous points of the facility before the restart brought me to this screen). I tried to disable Legacy Support in the BIOS, but that only returns an error message saying "Boot Device Not Found". I tried another keyboard that I know works on other systems, no difference here. I did research online that some users recommend using a PS/2 keyboard, but there is no port for a on this machine. I'm literally not to penetrate into my operating system, but none of the USB devices work. I've also seen suggestions about how to disable of EHCI or XCHI driver settings Pre-boot in the BIOS but I can't even find those on this BIOS. So maybe someone knows I am missing a setting in BIOS that can help me out here or something? Thank you!

    Hello:

Here is what, in my view, the problem is...

Intel has removed support for USB 2.0 chipset chipset Skylake.

This means that only USB or normal DVD installs windows 7 will not work.

Microsoft Windows 7 ISO not the USB 3.0 drivers natives either.

Therefore, add USB 3.0 drivers in Windows ISO.    Intel has on it.  They have a utility that does all the work for you.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/25476/Windows-7-USB-3-0-creator-utility

Run the utility and point your support Installation USB and windows 7 above should install.

There is a readme on the link above for instructions on how to convert your DVD in a bootable usb flash drive.

  • HP ENVY 750-170se: cannot access the RAID configuration via Ctrl + i on startup

I activated the RAID in BIOS > Storage Options > SATA emulations.

There are 2 drives HARD correspondents attached to the SATA 2 ports & 3.

At startup the Intel Rapid Storage screen shows the two discs. It shows the prompt to hit "Ctrl + I" to enter setup.

However: when I hit, stand or mash Ctrl + I, before, during and after the screen from the IRS, it never penetrates RAID installation.

What keeps me to enter RAID configuration menu?

Is there some SATA ports I need the HARD drive to be attached to the?

Motherboard is the model 2B4B, verson A0.11 BIOS

Based on this post I tried to use Intel Rapid Storage to make the RAID. TSRI was not installed/available in Windows so I donwloaded it... during the installation I was told there was a newer version already installed (which is weird because I couldn't access it).

TSRI in Windows made the RAID volume. No need to enter during POST/boot.

  • Laptop / desktop... what should I do?

    Hello

I intend to work on short documentary pieces in the next 6 months to support various volunteer groups working with poor and disadvantaged groups. This means that I'll be traveling and editing a little while on the move... (but may be able to arrange a mounting base where a desktop computer is always an option.)

I will be editing images HDSLR.

My current system has CS4, Win732bit, Intel Core (2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz, 2394 Mhz, 4 Core, 4 logical processors with graphics: NVIDIA 8800GT)

    Key questions:

1.) is a more recent laptop when combined with an upgrade to 64-bit and CS5 sufficient to change HDSLR footage? (The budget was limited to about $2000 to $2500 US))

2.) this will offer more performance and reliability than my current desktop with CS4?

(3.) I'm open to buy any laptop... Mac or PC... I'd like something that takes full advantage of the etc CS5 mercury engine... I have access to enough good deals for HP laptops through my current job. Is there a laptop of HP or Mac that can recommend which provides good bang for your buck?

(ie. budget range from $1500 to $3400 US)

    Reviews or thoughts greatly appreciated.

I don't want to spend a lot of money on a laptop to see that this is not a useful or productive solution.

    Thank you!

    I have

The i7-840QM is too slow and the P55 mobo is not suitable for editng HD material. 8 GB memory it cut extremely thin. A single disk is not enough, at least two 7200 RPM SATA disks are required, three is much better.

Start with a processor i7 - 9xx, not the mobile version of Mr. Add 12 GB of memory in the equation and the GTX 460 M disks, which is pretty good, over at least 2 or 3 7200 tr / MIN and you will be OK.

It is not recognized by the bios a08 rom family 2b4b ssi (which is the one that came with my office 750-170se week old envy.  If the device supports the new nvme, very well (it's twice the price) - what m2 has been proven to work here and how the hell update the bios on this thing, to see if there is more recent taken m.2 supported?

    FrozenGamer, welcome to the forum.

The casings of m2 on the motherboard are "one M.2 take 1, A key ' and 'a m2 taken 3, M button' (" Socket m2 3, with the M key, type "2260/2280 so it supports discs which are 22 mm wide and 60 mm or 80 mm long with a touch of M"). The socket is normally for wireless cards and key socket M are for SSD.  The SSD you bought is a B + M key.  Here is a picture that shows the two types of keys:

I think that this is your problem.  M2 interface is much more complicated than the SATA interface.  I am not sure that I fully understand.

  • 750-170se CTO envy: ENVY Desktop - 750-170se CTO installation SSD

I just bought this machine (750-170se ENVY). I bought it with a hard drive 3 TB installed and then filled the rest 2-Bay 3,5 '' with more hard drives 3 to 2. I would now like to add an SSD.

I have an SSD that I can add, but I don't know if the business will allow me to add it. There are a ton of wasted space in the case behind where is the DVD player. It almost seems that this could work for the Assembly of the SSD, but I'm not sure.

The other option would be to get a m2 by car because there is 1 free slot for m2. I know not where this is good. The technical page for my machine lists two locations:

    - Socket m2 1, the a key (I used Speccy and thought that it used.) It comes with the wireless card slot)

    -M2 socket 3, M key

One of them is occupied by the wireless card. I'm not clear that one isn't. I'm also not sure what size (physical dimensions not capacities) fits into the free location.

Anyone know the answer to these questions?

revised to indicate that I answered 1 questions on my own

    @icthusman2

The motherboard in your PC requires a PCIe SSD m.2 for housing type 3.

    https://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-operating-systems-and-recovery/how-to-access-BIOS-to-enable-th...

Cannot return to normal Bios. I tried Tap the ESC which worked before, screen freezes and I hit enter and the HP logo comes up, tried to hit and also hit F10. As much as I turn power. I have a wireless Logitech K800 keyboard that worked before. I tried a usb keyboard standard ensuring they were on a USB 2.0 port. F2 to display a cold start UEFI bios.

Them win 10 things don't me settings there, recovery, advanced. Tried all

I was hoping that HP had fixed the enter the Bios thing with updated Bios if installed. This thing was a pain like that otherwise I'd be a camper happy with this PC, how is it you can not solve this HP?

Because of disconnect hard drive it hangs just below ground

    The solution is

I had installed a better Nvidia GTX-950 video card. By hitting the ESC, it hangs and nothing happens. Black screen, although you can see slightly change the colors

Fortunately both the edge video card and the new Nvidia both using a HDMI cable. So I just plug my integrated video card. Started while typing ESC and the Legacy Bios screen selection came where I choose F10 to enter the Bios of the legacy

When you perform an update of the HP Bios seems to put everything back by default, in other words on board, by selecting the video edge. Although you can see by selecting HDMI port at startup if you think it's ok.

I have worked with Dell PC for 15 years to work, it does not matter what card I put in them. At the start, I hit F2 and Bios loads so that bit me. Now I know

    Hope this helps someone else.

  • 750 - 140z envy: envy 750-140z is compatible with AMD RX 480?

Envy - what is compatible with AMD RX 480 750-140z? I guess I should also upgrade the PSU?

    Hi there @NicholasBraden,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that you are looking for advice with an update of the graphics card. I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

    Using the following sources:

HP ENVY 750-140z computer CTO product specifications and configurable options

HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - specifications of the motherboard, Orchid3

    Radeon™ RX 480 graphics card - amd.com

    Your system has a PCI Express x 16 (Gen 3.0) slot and a power of 300 W.

The specifications of the AMD 480 RX do not have some details that I'm normally looking like minimum power supply requirement. On the contrary, it shows typical Board power of 150W, which is not a list of peak power.  It also does not indicate the number and type of additional power connectors are needed, or the generation of slot PCIe required.  However, your motherboard has gen 3.0 I mentioned already so it's not likely to be a problem.

So having a typical power consumption of 150 W for the card and to be sure, assuming that your system uses near the 300 W provided by the existing power, you're looking at least 450w for common use.  I suggest to go much higher than that, probably more to 550-600 W for a replacement hard drive, but you want to know what additional connections are required and ensure that the food get you has those which are available in both the type and the number.

There is no guarantee that any parts added to a system will be compatible, and as it is your system is not compatible if only on the question of food.

Please let me know if this is useful, and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • ENVY 750-197c: unable to connect to WIFI after downgrading to win 10?

So I just bought a HP ENVY 750-197c desktop computer and the first thing I did when the establishment was downgrade 10 Windows of Windows 8, which worked very well. However, now I am not able to detect the connections/connect to WIFI on the computer. I guess it's because I need to update or get the correct drivers. However, I can't know which ones I need. When I look at the Download Center here on the site and go to the list of drivers for this model of computer, there is no option to select the drivers for Windows 8. Instead, there are only options for Windows 7 and Windows 10. How am I supposed to download the right drivers, I need? Which?

    Hello:

The list of parts for your PC shows that it comes with an INTEL 3165 m2 card.

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx?SearchText=N0B14AA

Here is the link for the driver to W8 for this model of card.

The second file is left for W8 64 bit.

    HP DVD/CD RW drive

    Module # DV - 8465H, February 2016

    Provided with the computer

I opened the computer and checked all cables, etc., everything looks good, but the DVD will not open.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Thank you very much for the help - I really appreciate it.

So, I bought a new graphics card - graphics of 750 Genforce GTX ti, as my old HP Elite had an AMD Radeon 6700, while I was trying to get an equivalent to him for my new HP Envy, since AMD card was not compatible with the motherboard.

The 'tech' guy, said it would make a difference of 25% - the graphics card GTX AGAIN, that what came with the HP Envy 730 GT map - and especially good for photos.

But, please let me know your thoughts. Don't you think it's a value-wile put this card in? Maybe I'd better return the card and put it toward a new laptop, since both of my laptops died at.

Thank you once again, all the details would be really nice

I am to buy HP Envy 750-114 and upgrade with a graphics card.  The one I found is low power, so it will be fine with the 300 watt power supply that comes with 750-114 envy.

The problem is I want to order the video card for a refund until the PC (the refund will expire until the PC is delivered).

The 750-114 envy will accept a card of video of the form factor ATX size 7,76 "(L) x 5" (H)?

  • HP Envy 750-120: bi-ecrans on want 750-120... HOW... Help, please...

Just bought the HP ENVY 750-120 office... also bought 2 new monitors (HP Pavilion 27xw 27 - in LED Backlit Monitor IPS)... cannot get the computer to recognize 1 monitors...

Curiously, the Office has 1 hdmi and 1 connection on the video card dvi... but both monitors only came with vga connectors (Thanks much HP)... I bought 2 new hdmi cables for monitors but that you can only use 1 of them in the region of the video card... There are 2 connectors extra hdmi on the back of the computer but still using those in all combinations with reboot and detection under settings display does not cause the computer to detect the 2nd monitor...

I think my only other option is to hang the 2nd monitor to the dvi on the video card slot, but I'll have to find a converter because the monitor is only hdmi and vga... does what his right?

I'm not computer expert, please excuse my questions of common sense... why the video card is not 2 hdmi connectors and why HP is hdmi and vga monitors but then make their computers with only 1 connection hdmi and dvi... also, why doesn't the computer recognize the 2nd monitor so I use one of the HDMI slots at the bottom of the computer... What are these slots hdmi because then...?  really annoying that HP does not sytems super easy to hook up to the secular...

    Thank you for your suggestions...

    -bear

I solved the problem of dual monitor.  The computer came with only 1 hdmi connector and 1 connector on the video card.  Monitors have vga connectors and hdmi... a monitor worked with hdmi to hdmi slot, and I ran to the local big-box store and bought a hdmi to DVI and hooked up to the video card... immediately my 2nd monitor came.

    Problem solved,
