ENVY Desktop - 750-170se CTO installation SSD

I have samsung 850 m2 evo which is sata access - http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-850-EVO-3-5-Inch-MZ-N5E500BW/dp/B00TGIW1XG?ie=UTF8 & psc = 1 & redirect = true...

It is not recognized by the bios a08 rom family 2b4b ssi (which is the one that came with my office 750-170se week old envy.  If the device supports the new nvme, very well (it's twice the price) - what m2 has been proven to work here and how the hell update the bios on this thing, to see if there is more recent taken m.2 supported?

FrozenGamer, welcome to the forum.

The casings of m2 on the motherboard are "one M.2 take 1, A key ' and 'a m2 taken 3, M button' (" Socket m2 3, with the M key, type "2260/2280 so it supports discs which are 22 mm wide and 60 mm or 80 mm long with a touch of M"). The socket is normally for wireless cards and key socket M are for SSD.  The SSD you bought is a B + M key.  Here is a picture that shows the two types of keys:

"

I think that this is your problem.  M2 interface is much more complicated than the SATA interface.  I am not sure that I fully understand.

I just bought this machine (750-170se ENVY). I bought it with a hard drive 3 TB installed and then filled the rest 2-Bay 3,5 '' with more hard drives 3 to 2. I would now like to add an SSD.

I have an SSD that I can add, but I don't know if the business will allow me to add it. There are a ton of wasted space in the case behind where is the DVD player. It almost seems that this could work for the Assembly of the SSD, but I'm not sure.

The other option would be to get a m2 by car because there is 1 free slot for m2. I know not where this is good. The technical page for my machine lists two locations:

    - Socket m2 1, the a key (I used Speccy and thought that it used.) It comes with the wireless card slot)

    -M2 socket 3, M key

One of them is occupied by the wireless card. I'm not clear that one isn't. I'm also not sure what size (physical dimensions not capacities) fits into the free location.

Anyone know the answer to these questions?

The motherboard in your PC requires a PCIe SSD m.2 for housing type 3.

I suggest you call HP support that could take a command remotely on your computer to see what goes wrong, and then if necessary, they might send you a series of recovery Image factory (depending on the situation).

Please see the HP ENVY 17 - Maintenance and Service of Guide for all the different hard drive / SSD / mSata drive configurations that were available on these models. Almost any drive vendors will work on your computer and HP sources these parts from many manufacturers.

Hard drive (does not support hard disk, cables or screw):

    Hello

Standard Portable SSD will perfectly fit the standard of the computer laptop HARD drive. Many SDS are now thinner, but sellers will provide a piece of plastic to make them thicker.

Yes, you can move on to larger capacity. 500 GB is a sweet spot. Now, they are much cheaper. Many vendors autour but only use popular suppliers. I have no luck with few suppliers, their products work by some reasons. I know that Samsung, Sandisk, SSD Crucial work on my machines.

  • ENVY Desktop - 750-137c: help me to find a graphics card that fits.

Hello, my name is Joe.   I need help with my new pc.  I got this pc without graphics card.  I want to try to upgrade and I think I can use the slot pcie 16 x 3.0?  Correct me if I'm wrong.  I want to know what the card would fit as the motherboard is a Μatx which, from what I can tell, a little smaller.   Also, I may have to upgrade my power supply. If so, is there a special for my pc or can put in none?  I have no idea.   Thank you all for your time.   I'll check here every day.

    Joe

Thank you for the additional information.

You certainly need to move the power supply (PSU).  I love Corsair products.  A modular POWER supply is very good because it allows to use only the cables needed.  I normally recommend at least 500W, but in this case, I would recommend 600W.  Your computer is new, and this will give you more flexibility for future updates.

Here are the system requirements for Fallout 4:

    • 08/07/10 (64 - bit OS required) Windows
    • Intel Core i7 4790 3.6 GHz/AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz or equivalent.
    • 8 GB OF RAM.
    • 30 GB of free HARD disk space.
    • NVIDIA GTX 780 3 GB/AMD Radeon R9 290 X 4 GB or equivalent.

Now for the video card.  As you can see, the system requirements are quite high for Fallout 4.  I believe, with the video card on the right, you'll be able to play it is still higher than the average.  The RAM and video card are more important when the games.  Here is a card that should work for you.  Read the customer reviews.  A comment indicates that the map plays Fallout 4 nicely.  However, I claim that you contact EVGA Tech Support (1-800-880-3842) in order to ensure that it will work.  They were always very helpful when I made contact with them.

  • 750 - 055xt CTO M0K53AV #ABA envy: HP has encountered an error when trying to analyze your product

I use a brand new HP Envy 750-055xt CTO. Added the SSD (Samsung 850 EVO 120 G) and 16G Ram (Total of 24G (from Crucial)). The Win 7 OS has migrated to SSD and formatted the original drive for the purpose of storing files to a printer large format (new HP Latex, which will happen later this month).

Attempted to install Windows 10 but had multiple failures with error 0x80073B92 - 0 x 20009.

Disconnected SSD in case it was originally the above error, restored the system using created recovery DVD to state of origin (but always with 24 G of Ram).

In trying to pilot research and updates to bios on the HP support page, I now encounter error "HP has encountered an error when trying to analyze your product" which leaves me to proceed, except to order the DVD of restoration Windows 7.

I would use minitool partition manager to clone the disk partition & 100 MB windows C if your installation.

Works well in general & used for this task a lot. Use the partiton options rather than SSD clone will enable driving a complete copy of all of the source to the target SSD. Don't delete anything since! TB until what you tested SSD clone A1.

  • ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO: can I install an mSATA ssd in my HP ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO Notebook PC?

Can I install an mSATA ssd in my PC HP ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO Notebook? Added a SDS SATA 250 GB and 8 GB memory chip today but don't can find any way to add also a 250 GB mSATA SDS. I looked on the side in front and back of the system board.

I would return the mSATA EVO 840 Samsung SSD, I bought from Newegg?

The repair is no help whatsoever. It is said a WSSD m2 is supported 'model', but there is no picture of it in the manual or the indication when it is on the models 'select '. Those who have it use a version of m2 (connector three blades 2 not) so your Evo 840 would not work even if you had one of the models 'select '. I think that on those who have it that the port m2 is located on the motherboard so if you don't see it you are not among the selection.

    Hello.

I have my laptop new HP ENVY 15 t-k000 CTO Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) yesterday itself. He already have writer BRD. Can I replace my BRD burner with extra HD SSD? If yes what is the procedure for that?

You can, but you shouldn't. The port for the optical drive is a SATA-I have the interface. Slower than the port for HDD/SSD. So if you want to just add storage put a regular mechanical training in an optical drive adapter. Also any drive in the optical drive adapter will not be bootable. This will help you:
