Desktop shortcuts stopped working.

Suddenly, nothing happens when I click on one of the icons (shortcuts).  Works well, everything just stopped.  Have rebooted, no change.

  • The story ignores a newspaper (keyboard shortcuts stop working)

So I use Photoshop, I find that I can't press Cmd + Z (or Cmd + alt + Z) to cancel an error. I am also unable to use shortcut keys, so pressing B for brush, U online, E for the Eraser tool, etc. no shortcuts work.

That is until I shoot again. Once I clicked or developed anywhere within Photoshop (whether on or off the power of the Web), the keyboard shortcuts begin to work again. If overtime, whenever I want to cancel an error or use another tool with keyboard shortcuts, I have to click elsewhere to keyboard shortcuts work again...

It gets frustrating after a while.

I noticed in the historic area (the one where all the tools of measures are going in) where for example when I draw a line, the historic area does not pick up this newspaper. Yet once any attempt to use the keyboard shortcuts does not work. And once again, it is until I click elsewhere that the keyboard works. In addition, on the second click, the history box has now two actions in the list.

Thanks to those who have read my problem. I would like assistance as soon as possible. I'm ready to give any additional information that would help solve this problem

  • Remote Desktop has stopped working suddenly Premium Ultimate

I used to be able to remote desktop to my laptop with Vista Home Premium on my desktop with Vista Ultimate. All of a sudden, it stopped working (March 09). I tried many steps of troubleshooting without success and I searched and searched online with no resolution. Help! I examined even the laptop to ultimate upgrade, but I seriously doubt that would correct the problem, since I should be able to remote desktop ON the ultimate machine (not in it, of course) and did so successfully for over a year... so far. I don't know what changed between yesterday and today, with the exception of Windows updates. No other software or hardware has been installed. The laptop has wireless and it works very well - I can access the Internet and the network with no problems at all.

Steps, I have taken/other info: (not necessarily in order - just write them as they come to me)
    1) reset all the workstations and the router (I have a 3rd computer which has XP also).
    (2) checked to make sure port 3389 is open on my router 2 and in the firewall (McAfee). Within McAfee, do ensure that the remote desktop program and service were allowed, both directions and on all the workstations. Also controlled canyouseeme.org to ensure that port 3389 is indeed open and he succeeded.
    (3) connection I tried with the firewall disabled on two workstations and always without success.
    (4) Made sure that on the host, the remote settings have been enabled and all users can connect, using any version of Windows. Also tried unchecking, reset and rechecked.
    (5) the user accounts on all workstations are directors.
    (6) the fact that the Terminal Server service has been started on the host. Tried them stopping and restarting.
    (7) tried ping - success in all directions by the two IP address and computer name.
    (8) network resources are available in all directions - I can see and access files shared all around.
    (9) installed all the Windows updates available. Reloaded later.
    (10) remote desktop from the laptop to the machine off XP is successful. Ultimate machine to XP is successful. From XP to ultimate is successful. The only one who does not work (and it's an important) is from the laptop to the machine by excellence. Argh!
    (11) even tried to restore the laptop provided the factory (tested - didn't work) and then through all Windows updates (test I went - never able to operate).
    (12) fact that Windows Firewall has been disabled on all workstations.
    (13) fact that network discovery, file sharing and public folder sharing is turned on.
    (14) RDP I tried with the name of the computer with the IP address.
What Miss me? The only thing I can think is that somehow one of Windows Update caused this problem, but my research online for someone else knows this at the same time me are coming short. So I'm completely confused and frustrated!
Thanks for reading my post, and I'd appreciate any help.
    Sally

I didn't need to post on the technet forum, because I have solved the problem. I decided to bite the bullet and just give my idea to try and hope for the best (created a first system restore point). The solution was so freakin ' easy... wonder why I couldn't find all the details on how to do...?

In any case; On the ultimate box (the one I am trying to remote desktop in), I opened the management console (mmc.exe) and add the Certificates snap, for the computer account, computer local. Double click on certificates, double click on the desktop folder remotely, double click on the Certificates folder and highlighted the certificate (there was only one, with the name of the computer as the title) and removed (first of all, I copied and put it in another folder, just in case where).

This solves completely the whole issue and workaround is no longer necessary.

I hope this helps someone else.

  • Connection remote desktop has stopped working

I'm used to be able to connect via the desktop remotely from my computer Windows 7 on my Windows XP computer. Both machines have been recently updated (Windows updates) and now remote desktop doesn't work anymore.

After that the two machines reboot their updates, I tried to connect to the Windows XP computer.  I got a dialog box on my Windows 7 machine (which was never released before) titled "Windows security" and asks me to enter my credentials. It shows my username (which is displayed correctly), and give me the ability to use another account.  There is also a small box downstairs that allows him to "remember my credentials".  As I said, I've never seen this front window.
When I put my password it comes up with another dialog box that reads 'fixing remote connection', where he stops, then fails stating that "the connection attempt has failed."
I checked on the remote computer (XP), that he will accept Remote Desktop connections.  I checked my username and password I use are correct.
I went back to my machine windows 7 and tried to use remote desktop.  This time, I never had the Windows 7 dialog box (one titled "Windows security") it displays the Windows XP login screen (which is what it normally does).  I was able to connect properly.
Now, today, I tried to use the desktop remotely again, but again got this dialog "Windows security" Windows 7 once again and the same problem everywhere.  I can't connect to the XP machine more.
    Any idea what's going on?

  • Desktop shortcuts not working do not.

Whenever I try to click on a shortcut on my desktop it asks what application to open it with. I tried to restart my computer laptop and l ' down completely and still nothing. It what works very well the last time I was connected but now nothing. I read that I should try a repair of association for .lnk (shortcut) file, but when I download them from the barns and click Merge all that happens is that a Notepad document opens. Apparently, something should appear to me hit "Run", but that never happens.

    Skywoof,

Is the problem isolated to all or just a shortcut on the desktop? Mark the beginning of the menu shortcuts affected? Please, try the following:

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

    2. type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • Remote Desktop has stopped working

All of a sudden I can't RD my server (under Win 7 Pro).
I can access all the drives shared without problem but Remote Desktop behaves as if she's not here.
The server presents itself under the management of network and homegroup.
I looked and remote desktop has been enabled on the System/Remote Server settings dialog box.
When I delete the credentials and try to connect - remote desktop is not even asking me my PW.

As the saying goes - It was working fine a few days ago and I wouldn't change a thing.

  • Desktop slideshow stops working - Windows 7

I have windows 7 32 bit and whenever I run any program that requires windows to switch to the classic desktop by temporarily disabling the Aero interface, the theme changes to "Unsaved Theme" with a single image, and he's not back to my original theme. I must change the theme manually myself and remove the theme unregistered every time. My theme is a slide show of images more that changes about every hour.

It's embarrassing because I run a lot of things that requires the computer to switch to classic mode, and I don't want to turn my slide show manually every 20 minutes or so because I ran one of these programs.
    Specifications of the computer:
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
CPU: Genuine Intel Dual Core 3.2 Ghtz CPU (not overclocked)
    ATI Radeon x 1650 Pro512 MB
    SoundBlaster Live! Value
All drivers are later they can be. I have seen this problem mentioned anywhere on the web without a solution, but I did not saw it mentioned here, to this extent.

I'm sorry, I know I said the classic mode, but I wanted to say that in this case all the time windows automatically becomes my windows 7 Basic color scheme. (Glass went transparent, blue, rounded title bars and a message near the system tray that says light

"The color scheme was changed to windows 7 Basic. A running program is not compatible with certain Visual elements of Windows. »
However, this problem was solved in my case. It turns out that a 3rd party program I was using called UltraVNC Server was using the wrong setting, that invalidates the background image to display during a remote connection with another client computer. Whenever Windows switched to the basic mode to use the VNC server, the Office would turn black, and then the background would be returned to the previous photo without the slideshow an Aero has been restored.
For those of you with UltraVNC Server installed, modify your administrative options to ensure that VNC Server option "Remove wallpaper for viewers" is not selected. This solved my problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.
