Detects the Wndows 7 + VMWare player + USB

My host OS is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and my version of VMware player 5.0.2 build-1031769

My problem USB devices cannot be connected to any guest OS running on VMware player.

I tried CentOC 6buttons, Ubuntu 9.04 Ubuntu 12.04.

the device icons are displayed top-right corner of the virtual machine, but when I right click-> Connect (disconnect form host)

After a while "peripheral USB [Flash Drive] can not be connected device error" is appear.

Device does not work correctly when it is connected to the host computer. It also detects and works fine when I connected to a

virtual machine running on the Windows XP host.

I spent a day hole in internet research. Please give let me know how to solve this problem.

It seems that no one can give me a solution, anyway I solved the problem of upgrading my version of VMware player to 6.0.0 build-1295980

I just downloaded VMware-player - 7.0.0 - 2305329.exe and installed under Windows 7 x 64 and had no problems with it automatically detect installed VMware Tools to the guest operating system to be downloaded and successfully downloaded.  Having said that, have you tried? : Player > file > Preferences... > download now all components

Maybe something is blocking you to download the VMware tools.

You could also do it manually by using the following tools from VMware for VMware Player 7.0.0.

Unzip the file, then run the executable result and it will silently install the file without any indication that he actually did like this isn't really so planned how to do even if it works!

My problem is that when the user right connect to the server through Vmware Player Flex, its list of username or password is incorrect, please try again. But the user name and password is correct. Later one of the user added to the Mirgaeadmin group policy gives right I. While this user can connect to Flex server via Vmware Player.

1 should. users entitled be part of the local administrator group of the Flex server?

    2. do I need to add these users right somewhere in the console of mirage?

    Thanks for supporting.

    Hi all

Turn history on security locally should be set in the server included users who try to connect via Vmware Player.

Our GPO has been tighten to allow only to administrators and users authenticated to allow log on locally. Adds a new GPO to enable a group of users to log on locally, which solve the problem.

  • With the help of VMWare Player in internet cafes

I'm hoping to take a virtual machine from a development environment rudimentary vacationing European cycling for emergency repair work (SQL Server, Microsoft Access, etc.). I had intended to put the virtual machine on a S200 personal IronKey 16 GB Secure Flash Drive: https://www.ironkey.com/personal.

I would use this VM in internet cafes. Is it possible to run the virtual machine without installing the player on PC for a coffee? For example, it is possible to rotate the player from the same flash player?

    Thank you.

VMware Player must be properly installed on the host system. Also running the VMS in a drive USB Flash can be very slow with a lot of latency, and I wouldn't recommend well it's certainly doable.

Is this just a limitation of the software curiously layered? Or is there something I can do to fix this?

  • The Windows 7 XP Mode requires the activation of VMware Player 3.0

Clearance for VMWare Player 3.0 State note: "import Windows XP Mode virtual machine using VMware Player 3.0 and run the virtual machine without be prompted for a Windows XP license key." I tried it and as soon as the VM has opened in the drive, the Windows Activation appears because of all the different material.

Is there a different procedure for this? The XP Mode machine works well in VMWare Player - but it is not good if it needs activation.

    Any help is very appreciated.

In the Player 3.0 there is an option in the file menu "Import Windows XP Mode virtual machine".  This is displayed if the Mode XP .vhd file has been downloaded and installed on your system.

You must use this method to run the .vhd file.   It will automatically install the .vmx with the correct settings file and create a clone that is linked to the original to run file from.

  • need to detect the version of Flash Player ActiveX installed in windows 8

My company (for better or worse) using Add/Remove programs to determine the version of flash players (activex and plugin) installed on a machine. With Microsoft support the ActiveX for Win8.x package, we have lost the "Add/Remove Programs" (aka "programs and features") entry for flash player for IE. (Now, our chefs are inaccurate because I know every customer of Win8 activex of flash player, but one) it is not counted, and b) we do not know which version is on a computer.

We can get the current number of KB Microsoft Update for the flash player activex, but that changes on a monthly basis, requiring engineering on our side and we have the bandwidth.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    THX,

    Adam

    Hi Adam,.

You can use the registry entry to find the installed version.

    ActiveX: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayerActiveX > Version

    Plugin: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayerPlugin > Version

It is much better than the entry in Add/Remove programs.

I think this might be the post: trial license expired blocks of VMWare Workstation without drive

I did an uninstall of the program and then started across the registry of rooting for any instance of vmware (Ctrl-F) and he nuking (not for the faint of heart).

I think that what he did was to find the license key, who lives under a key 'VMWare, Inc.' (there are several of them) (note that it was not under the path mentioned in the thread above).

I also cleaned up C:\ProgramData\VMWare, which contained the cruft of various other software products VMware I had been assessed, but had uninstalled.

  • Cannot SSH in vmware player (can use the local IP address but not external IP)

    As above

Cannot SSH in vmware player (can use the local IP address but not external IP)

Am new to vmware, so if you need information to help me on what you'll need to tell me how to get

    See you soon

Vodkaholic27, let me start with the layoff of vodka for a bit and then set Virtual Machine network card to bridged and then assign a static IP address that is appropriate for the guest as the physical LAN operating system is the host.  Then in the local physical network for static IP address router you assigned in the guest OS configure it to allow Port Forwarding on the appropriate port.  Then, you will be able to access from outside local physical host network.  If it's just on the other system on the physical LAN to the host that you want to access the guest you need not set up the Port Forwarding on the router on the local physical host network, simply use linked by a bridge to the network adapter in the Virtual Machine.  If you use NAT to the NIC of the Virtual Machine, then you need to set Port Forwarding in the virtual network Editor.

Note: The virtual network Editor is not installed by default in Vmware Player 3.x and later versions.

    ==========

To install the missing virtual network Editor, the command prompt:

    VMware-player-*.exe -e c:\vmptmp

Then in the c:\vmptmp folder find the file c:\vmptmp\network.cab and extract (double-click on the .cab file) vmnetcfg.exe (virtual network editor) file in the working directory of VMware Player usually 'C:\Program VMware Player' or ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Player.  You can create a shortcut and place it with the shortcut of VMware Player, if you want to access it more easily.  Note: there are some for all the files to be extracted to then access the network.cab file.

  • What is the latest version of VMware Player?

    Hello

There seems to be some confusion about the latest version of VMware Player.

Please see the screenshot. The title is 'VMware Player 4.0.2', but the individual downloads are "VMware Player 4.0.1".

I downloaded the Linux version and help-> about said 4.0.1.

So, how to get the version 4.0.2?

    TIA

    Kurt

    vmware01.png

If you click on the link download (win version) the downloaded file is 'VMware-player - 4.0.2 - 591240.exe' and the md5sum is different from the 4.0.1 download further down the page... If Im assuming this is actually 4.0.2 and they just made a mistake on the page.
