  Since the update today at 37 the net-dev-tools tab is messed up and type-buttons are missing

  I continually get the developer tools that appears when I'm sailing FF. Only, this happens when I use my trackpad and seems to be related somehow to moving it from right to left. I can't find anyway to do that well in line. FF37.0.1 and Windows 8. Seems to not be linked to any add ons... all the tools of the developer (devtools.*.enabled) set to false (so why the Inspector keeps popping up I don't know). Never a problem when using the mouse - only the touchpad.

  Ok. Tried two teas - deleted user.js and removed all the addons (Safe Mode startup. No change. What I'VE found, is that I can reproduce this simply by dragging it to the left of the bezel on the touchpad. This seems to be the problem. On this machine that WOULD show the charms. However, he launched the development tools instead.

  Now, for me, that solved the problem, because I don't really use the charms bar. So I can't disable this gesture. I don't know why it happened to FF, as I would have thought that should be caught by the o/s before it gets there.

  I bought the box for CS3 developer tools and would like to build relatively simple forms and databases. Example, I would create selector or drop-down list boxes that come from a table I can update (Add/Remove) remotely. I guess there are many methods to do this. I would also like to be able to create databases of register of login/password.
  
  I'm looking for your favorite or recommended type tutorials 'step 1...' so that I can begin the journey of a thousand miles. Preferably, these how-too is also would have something to do with the Toolbox CS3; but not necessarily required.

• Can I anchor the game style of new tools from dev to the right of the window as they were before?

  In previous versions of Firefox, the dev tools had on background HTML and styles on the right. Now everything is anchored at the bottom of the screen. Is it possible to extend vertically up to the full window styles? I find it hard to quickly navigate to the bottom and I don't want to have to manage a separate window.

  22 Firefox (current Aurora 22.0a2 she, but 21.0 beta is not) and later have this function that posted by idir to anchor the Inspector panel on the right, so you will have to wait 12 weeks to get it in a version of Firefox or have a look at Aurora (note that this version is updated daily).

• Where is the source for the GPL had NDK tools?

  Since the NDK (specifically, I use the 2.0.1 NDK PlayBook) includes tools (gcc, gdb, binutils etc) GPL3, RIM needs to also make the source code used to compile these tools available. Specifically, I am interested in gdb, as the "vanilla" version of the FSF does not support ARM QNX Neutrino (it has support of QNX Neutrino i386, however). The version distributed with the NDK reports himself as ' GNU gdb (GDB) 7.3 qnx (Rev.). 613)", so I assume that it was compiled from sources patches.

  RIM's commitment to open source, I am sure that just an oversight.

  Sorry if this is a noob question, but:

  I need to have multiple versions of Java 6 and 7 on my development computer to support the various dev tools, the BlackBerry and the BlackBerry No.

  WebWorks requirements for all BBOS6/7, BB Tablet and the BB10 SDK shows Java 6.

  I see in the BBOS6/7 and WebWorks Tablet SDK installs, under bin\bbwp.properties, apparently I can specify which version of Java to use.

  In the SDK WebWorks of BBOS6/7, my default installation has the version default Java 6 I have on my system, called in bin\bbwp.properties.  (Java 7 is not installed on this system, but it will be, once I have determine if/how achieve peaceful coexistence).

  The SDK WebWorks of Tablet OS, my default installation apparently has a bundled jre provided with the SDK, in bin\bbwp.properties.

  In the SDK of WebWorks BB10, can't get a bbwp.properties file.  Then, how the BB10 WebWorks SDK determines what jre to use?

  And also, in general, can all consultants dev BB app read this confirms that the required configuration indicated on https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/download/ of all BBOS6/7 Tablet OS and BB10 are indeed accurate, namely that:

  For BBOS6/7, the Java6 * JDK * is required, but for Tablet OS and BB10, only the Java6 * JRE * is necessary.  The reason for this question is I saw some of the wording on the AIR SDK requirements pages system which has raised questions about the issue to determine whether these authors doc understood the terms they used.

  Confirmed: JDK/JRE are still required for BB10 due to signature requirements. but we certainly agree that having a requirement to worry less would be great and we are working :-)

  All the emulators fail at something, so it is always best to test the real devices when you can.

  That said, Chrome and Firefox are quite close. One of the things bigger than don't miss the emulators in the browser is the function of auto zoom of smaller devices. Be sure to include the viewport with an initial scale of 1.0 and you should be fine...

  Generally emulators you what a phone with auto zoom see when this tag is missing. Some phone browsers also automatically link and add styles to things like phone numbers or dates, if there is no style associated with them are coming from css to your site. Dev tools will miss that also and sometimes it's a little surprising to see a bunch of links on your page when you never coded in a first time.

  Again, it is always better to use actual devices, you intend to support, to see what will actually make your site.

  I'm not aware of a Firebug user interface board. I recommend using the default dev tools, remote debugging option in Firefox for Android and the WebIDE to inspect pages on a phone.

  Some of the images are a little dated, but the main steps in https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Remote_Debugging/Debugging_Firefox_for_Android_with_WebIDE_clone are correct.

• Strange window/tab at the bottom of page... Locked by the employer!

  In case one of your extensions creates this strange area, you can test the page Firefox Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

  You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

  • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
  • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

  Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works

  After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

  If this does not help, try to see again your plugins for a potential problem: the plugins that modify the user interface can cause problems when the option "prompt to activate." If they are useful, you can always set 'enable' and if you don't know what they are for, you can set it to "never activate. You will need to exit and restart Firefox back to see the effect.

  The only way for her to have hacked your phone is if you allowed her to have physical access to the device. If that happened, then you will need to put the device in DFU mode and restore. You should not use your backup to restore the device. Restores factory and start over.

  I know this is a forum "Windows-related" but I am convinced that someone knows the answer.

  In Firefox, F11 is the option "full screen" and F12 opens the "Developer Tools Console" - sometimes I press F12 by mistake (instead of F11) and open the 'Console' so I 'X' out of it.

  What information we find here and would this information only be relevant for a Web Developer?

  F12 opens dev tools (as you have seen) there is a wealth of information in the dev tools, but you will need to understand.  Dev tools can tell you about the performance of your internet connection.  There one also tell you why a web page takes so long to load, etc.
