  • WNDR4300 5 GHz

How can I activate my 5 GHz for my 4300 router wndr Strip?

Try using the channel 149. The top channels are allowed to broadcast at a higher power.

Check the driver for the configuration settings and check that the 5 GHz band is selected.

Run a program surveyor of Wi - Fi, such as inSSIDer, vistumbler or acrylic Wi - Fi. It will let know you which networks it can see.

Make sure the antennas on the router and card configuration are installed properly.

  • wndr4300 wireless in linux mint

I also have win7 on it & it will work wireless, no cable.

    using cinnamon Mint 17.3.

I think it takes a little more time to establish conn that cable.

  • ReadyShare permissions on WNDR4300

On my laptop which is HP Envy M7 with Win 10 64 bit on which I am the administrator. Network drive ReadyShare was recognized without problems. However, the files are read-only and I can't change or remove the read only flag. When I tried to delete a folder, I got a message saying "You need permissions Unix Users\root to make changes to this file" (strange msg for a laptop OS Win). Tried to add files to a folder existing to my local HARD drive and got a message saying it could not find the destination folder.

So, how can I become the owner of this car readyshare\usb_storage and where I can edit the security settings?

Connect your USB hard drive to your PC and then run the disk check. (right click on the drive > properties > tools)

Once done USB connection to the router then edit some files.

  • The AirPort Express Terminal is good enough for me?

I need a new wireless router to replace my Netgear WNDR4300 'antiques '.  The network is only 2-3 laptops and iPhones 1-2 at a time, over a printer and Chromecast device.  We occasionally video stream, but not often.  Critics say the AirPort Express is best purchased as an add-on to an existing network, but I can't justify more expensive options from the airport.  I don't need the 11ac 802 that offer other options, and it seems that margin would be a problem, because it is limited to 5 GHz.  We have a two-storey house. Is the simple terminal AirPort Express good enough for my home network?

The AirPort Express, pourraient deliver similar performance to your old Netgear router in terms of signal strength and the beach... but the only way to know with certainty if the Express will be good enough for your needs is to try in your home.

Try to locate the Express up high on a shelf or Cabinet, if you can, to help in the dissemination of the signal.

Fortunately, if you buy through Apple, you have one day 14, no questions asked return privilege, so if the Express does not provide the performance you need, you can return the unit for Exchange or a refund.

  • Apple TV cannot connect to Modem/Router C7000

    Hello

I'm completely stumped on this, this is no logic.

I upgraded a Netgear WNDR4300 wireless router to the modem/router combination C7000. The old router never caused any problems with the connection of wireless devices, but this new C7000 is frankly a pain!

I agree with Apple TV network and the password is accepted, but no matter what I do the router never sees the Apple TV as a connected wireless device!

Yet once, it worked flawlessly on the old Netgear router.

The other two devices wireless I have connected the two had WPS (a printer and a device), but the Apple TV does not support this so I get the password manually but it simply refuses to work!

I was wasting hours on this today.

I'm a software engineer so I understand this and frankly there is no earthly reason, I can see why he just refuses to work.

Y at - it a bug with this modem/router C7000 that will not work properly if you cannot connect using WPS?

And what is the problem of not having a FW upgrade option in this device?

This FW version: V1.01.20. Is this the last?

    Help, please.

    Thank you

    Allen

Well, now I feel like a fool. I unplugged the old router and thought that I had turned it off, then I drop it on the floor and began setting up the new router. I wanted to keep the same network name so I changed it and set the password accordingly.

It's when I couldn't connect the Apple TV. And after all that, I look down the OLD router and to somehow do NOT turn it off as I thought I did.

If the network name being the same, my Apple TV connected to the OLD router instead of the new.

    Argh, what a rookie mistake!

    Everything is OK now.

    Sorry everyone,

    Allen

  • Fast LAN speed/low speed WiFi

I sent a support ticket on it but still have not found a solution so I thought that maybe some forum users might have an idea...

I have the WNDR4300 with the latest firmware. I use an Arris cable modem (I have set to bridged so it will not double on the NAT). My internet speed is 200 Mbps, and I get that on my PC which is metallic in the router in the office. WiFi, however, even when I'm right in front of the router, I can't speeds faster than a max 35mbps, which seems really weak. I tried with an iphone 5, a laptop and a Kindle fire HD and they all get on this speed (using the Ookla speed test).

    I tried the following:

Nothing has caused the wifi do everything faster than 20-35mbps.

Any other ideas out there what to try? Is there a setting I'm missing? Again, the speed of the internet through the router to come to my office is 200 Mbps, it's just the WiFi which is much slower. I know I can't wait get a full 200 but 20-30 seems pretty weak, especially when I'm testing right in front of the router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A factory reset on my WNDR4300 router with the latest firmware has solved the problem. I am now able to get 89MBPS on 5g & 75MBPS in 2g. Thank you very much.

  • WNDR3700 very slow wifi

Seems all of a sudden that my wireless is slow and weak.

I get download speeds of 60 Mbit/s connected to the desktop via the router, but only about 10 with wifi. Router is 2pi away.

I looked in the settings and tried a few things but no help at all. Hope someone has some ideas, thanks

I did download speed tests using residential Road Runners speed test. Only 10 Mbps over 60 wired wireless

This is a problem that happens all of a sudden.

Did a reset and still poor wireless network. Tried to change channels once or twice as suggested on various sites. No effect at all. Cell phones would connect only barely 3 ft away from the modem. I think it is just wore out

Purchased a new WNDR4300 and works perfectly out of the box

  • Slow DNS resolution by the router

I'm setting up Outlook 2016 with an outlook.com account. It times out when it searches for the site.

I unplug the router and plug the modem directly on my computer. Try again.

It does not expire. It is outlook.office365.com without problem.

Are there settings, I can check in my Netgear NETGEAR WNDR4300

I put in place using the wizard implementation. The DNS setting is get automatically from ISP.

The IP address is dyamically get from the ISP.

Run a DNS bench mark utility (there are many freeware out there) to find the best and fast DNS for you.

  • How to access the remote wifi router

    Hello

I have a camera app on my phone where I can log in and check my home monitoring cameras. However, sometimes my homenetwork resets the ip address and if I'm not at home to check my new ip address, I don't know what is the new ip address to use and connect to check my cameras in the phone application.

Sometimes, I travel and I try to check the cameras and connection failed because the IP at home has changed.

I found this article, but I'm still waiting for e-mail by netgera! :

    http://KB.NETGEAR.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/26109/~/how-to-remotely-access-your-router-using-netge...

In addition, in the article, step 3:

    • Click the router settings , and then select remote access to connect as.

HE IS No. TEL THING AS ACCESS to connect remotely.

    Is there another way?

    Help, please

    P.S. I have a router WNDR4300-N750.

In the meantime what happens if Netgear is more professionally and send me the * beep * e mail for verification?

  • Linksys EA4500 all just terrible!

I've owned this router for over a year. Using this router has been the worst experience with routers ever. Let me count the ways: 1 non-existent Support Linksys is now owned by Belkin 2 Firmware updates 1 and it was awful and should be deployed 3 constantly remove connections, worst performance I saw. 4 cloud bloatware, no value added to the router service. 5-speed connection never connected to the FIOS maxspeed 6 would not give it to my worst enemy 7 support, support, support. Interview about known issues never discussed. 8 is a boat anchor good. That's all. I've since replaced this with a Netgear WNDR4300 router. Excellent!

Do what I did, take it back and buy Netgear! Works 100% of the time and to double the coverage in my house. Linksys is not reliable co, allows it to be.
Do yourself a favor and get rid of it!

  • Xbox 360 Media Center Extender loses the connection to the media center to Windows 7 after change of router

I have a Windows 7 Media Center box, and an Xbox 360 that I use as an Extender.  The two connections to the same wired router.  Everything worked fine until I went on my old router (failed) and put in a WNDR4300.   After the new router has been installed, I didn't have the Extender work then, deleted from the media Center and re - he added.  It worked but after I shut off/started the xbox, no link.  It is repetitive: I can make a new connection, but then it didn't reconnect after reboot of the xbox.

    Check/change:

-J' changed to a static IP xbox

-There is no part 3 a / v or a firewall on the support center

-L' on the media center network adapter is 'home '.

-The network card on the media center * fact * show the xbox 360

-The event log after the xbox is restarted shows:

event ID 538: installation of media center extender does not like the Extender has been detected on the network, but for the Extender upnp search failed (timed out after 20000ms)

-How long before it, I have found that the service IS running upnp device host (and set to auto)

-J' checked 4300 router wndr and UPnP is enabled (advertising set to 30 minutes)

question, any ideas what configuration will solve this problem?
