DHCP fails

We try to update an ICC with stuff from 2015. He had been working fine on Labview 2014. It's a CPI for Siemens, which has a 1000th Intel NIC and also a map of network Intel 8254. Apparently, it starts up and tries to get an IP address from the DHCP server and we connected it to a router with DHCP active. It says at least he's trying to DHCP. It breaks down and we have 169.254.23.139 as an IP address. Curiously, the NIC 8254 appears not connected and looking in the BIOS setup, it cannot be selected.

Words of wisdom? We cannot talk about this machine now by ethernet.

Indeed, it happens before Labview. My first time to ask a question in the forums. We are trying to get a new version of a labview real-time running project.

There are many configuration problems fundamentally, we discovered by accident. Fortunately, we're on the next steps. The 1000th NIC gave us no activity for any reason and then magically lights began. Networks can be frustrating!

I tried to get my message tell people I got to work but could not find. Email me here!

Next step is to understand how this mark as answer?

Thanks for the reply.

DHCP fails to issue addresses in double subnet environment.  Please see attached.

    Hello

Mr. Ezzell, after reviewing all the screenshots and have a look at your configuration and you are not able to change the arrangement for VIRTUAL LANs, you can try this:

As a work-around to use the router as DHCP VLAN 2 server, you can enable the DHCP server on the router for the VLAN 1, leave 2 IP addresses available, lets say 192.168.1.253 to 192.168.1.254 then go to static DHCP under network and the local network and hire two false addresses to these two IP addresses, so they will not be assigned to all devices. This way you will always be able to use your DHCP server without having to disable the DHCP server on the router

Thank you for pointing out the firmware version very low on your switch, you actually run the firmware that came out of the unit.

Here is a link to the firmware download page:

    https://software.Cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=283019669&flowid=...

Please upgrade to the following firmware versions:

    1.2.9.44
    1.3.0.62
    1.3.5.58
    1.4.0.88

Keep in mind that on the 1.3.5.58 version, you must also upgrade the bootcode using TFTP software.

Once you are done with the upgrade of the connection check and see if it works.

  • Ethernet DHCP fails after that put 10.11.3 updated

    Hello

After that the updated 10.11.3 updated my ethernet connection fails to connect to the internet.

The general link is fine; router OK, other computers will work properly; DHCP works for iPhones, iPads and WiFi on this computer are great

    • I have tried several things from other threads.

      • but I realized during disconnection of the cable as the IP address and the subnet mask disappear (as must I guess) to reconnect the cable, it takes a few seconds and I have again the values for both:

    subnet 255.255.0.0

The connection says it is a self assigned IP address, but there is no connection to the internet.

  • Client DHCP fails to get a valid IP address when it is plugged in but it gets when it is connected to another

I have Windows SBS2011 network with approximately 30 client PC. Suddenly six of the client PC (WIN7 Pro and 3 Windows XP Pro 3) is more valid IP addresses, they all receive the self addresses affected 169.254.x.x. If I give them static IP addresses and set the DNS server, they can connect to the server but have permissions issues when you try to access the drives on the server and they are unable to access the internet.

However, if physically, I switch the PC to another office and link them to ports ethernet by the other office, then everything connects well, DHCP assigns the correct address and I can access the internet and the server.
So I excluded the problem being the PC hardware, firewalls, client PC running DHCP, the server running DHCP properly - what can be? The ethernet port on the wall reminds somehow what is happening? Really, I'm stumped and would be grateful for any suggestion. Thank you

What is your configuration?  Is there a router, power switches?   If so, try equipping these devices out of a minute and turn it back on and check.
If this does not help, please describe you setup.

  • ASA remote VPN with DHCP failed

I am running a version 8.3 ASA5540 (2). I have several deletion of vpn users working on this server. Lately, I have had problems with people starting or being not not able to route any where and it seems to be cause that they fight for the same IP address using the local pool, so I decided to try to DHCP rather (I have no idea why he keeps overlapping IPs, we have tons in the pool and they fight for the same). This just started about a month ago, we use only maybe 3-5 fps on / 24 block. The only thing that changed was we hired more people, but we have separate groups for team operations corporate vs.

So I configure the scope dhcp-network for the subnet and the server dhcp under the policies. I see demand go on the server, but it seems to put the MAC ASA in the field of the hardware address of the Client in the DHCP header. I have attached the IBDP of ASA showing this. Anyone know why this is happening and is there a way around it?

  • Unable to connect to the router

-Please ignore this message: I did not wait enough to do the factory reset. It seems that launch a factory reset without waiting for 10 seconds only restarts the router.

    Hello

Today I tried to connect to my router (I do not use it for a few years) and it didn't work at all.

Initially, I plugged it in just 2 RJ45 cables: one for internet, one for the PC. The computer could not connect to the router (DHCP failed).

I then restored the factory settings and tried again: same thing, the computer could not find the router via DHCP.

I tried to force an IP address (IP: 192.168.1.5, mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1).

By forcing the INVESTIGATION period, I was able to connect to the router, but when I tried connect to 192.168.1.1 with admin/password, it wouldn't let me (bad password - don't forget I restored it to factory settings, several times actually). The address http://routeurlogin.net/ is not found (404) and I was unable to go on websites (404). A curious thing is, using this connection, I was able to connect to Skype (and send/receive messages), although the sites Web could not be reached from a browser.

I'm running out of ideas to solve the problem, but I suspect a hardware problem, so any help would be welcome.

    Yes he did.

I couldn't find an option to delete my message, otherwise I would have done it.

  • Devices cannot connect to Mobile Hotspot

When other devices attempt to connect to my access point mobile (Thinkpad is Windows 10 3rd gen x 1 carbon), it shows 'failed to connect to the network'': search DHCP failed. "

I tried to use MaryFi and Connectify before (I forgot that Thinkpads have come with this ability) and they did not work.

Then I tried Mobile Hotspot in settings of Lenovo and it didn't work so I uninstalled programs 3rd third and rebooted and Mobile Hotspot still does not.

I would try to reinstall parameters of Lenovo, but I don't see how.

UPDATE: I reinstalled the parameters of Lenovo and the problem is still there

This is because the laptop itself must be on the active network connection such as LAN or devices that links won't be able to read the ip DHCP

It should be fixed, had to use unlocker in safe mode to remove (the hosts file that was read-only)

Given that I could not delete it in safe mode either. But trojan remover updates now (Nothing could be updated). So I would say its fixed.

And something had added a proxy and added something to svchost in the registry. What trojan remover removed.

  • WRT310N v1 DHCP client fails to renew the lease

    I have a Linksys WRT310N v1 with firmware build 002 v1.0.10 July 19, 2010

My router is unable to renew its lease DHCP from my cable provider, causing an internet access to drop.

I can still access my modem cable to 192.168.100.1, but I have to do a 'IP address Release' then 'renewal of IP address '' to return to internet access. Is this a known issue? The router works fine otherwise.

I managed to solve the problem by flashing DD - WRT firmware (Brainslayer 14929 K24 build).

I don't know why DHCPRENEW / DHCPREBIND fails with the OEM firmware, but it works correctly now.

  • DHCP client when the auth-fail dot1x vlan not asking not

Switching VLAN works very well when the user is authenticated. The machine is on vlan X, the user connects, port goes to vlan and then receives an ip address of the vlan Y. When the user disconnects, machine reauths and dates back to the vlan X.

However, when I use the LAN virtual auth failure of dot1x on the port, the switch will change to vlan Z, but the computer (XP) still has an ip address of the vlan x XP still shows as "trying to authenticate" which I suppose may be the problem with her not asking not DHCP (normally it only until after auth).

Is there an authentication timeout setting somewhere in XP? Or y at - it another way this problem? It's XP with SP3.

Is there not another way around the issue. The 'problem' is that the machine already has an IP address.

Basically, Auth-Fail-VLAN works as if a network connected to a switch, watched x-number of chess administrator happening consecutively, and the admin allows the port anyway in mode authorized strength and hard-sets it in one VLAN specific. At this point, it's the supplicant on how / if she needs to get on the network.

IOW, it's a bit as if you just change the VLAN on a port on the fly for any other reason... same question.

One workaround might be of course ensure it fails at time of initial plugin, when machine requests an IP address at first (assuming only for Windows platform anyway).

    Hope this helps,

  • 6.1.4 NSX upgrade to 6.2.0: DLR fails to upgrade with DHCP relay message

Hey all, in the middle of an upgrade of non-prod to a greenfield 6.1.4 6.2. Did the Manager NSX, and follow-up of all controllers. Then after the VMware recommended upgrade sequence, I did the GSS. Then began the DLR. When you try to upgrade the DLR, I received an error message

The "Upgrade Version" operation failed for the entity with the following error message.

[DHCP] To enable DHCP Relay, DR instance must be created with a single connected LIF.

    NSX-Training2015-09-07 13_06_51.jpg

Also, the router now displays status in the NSX edges pane: "failed to create/update edgeAssist interface for edge edge-3.» 404 not found. »

    NSX-Training2015-09-07 15_03_09.jpg

So I tried erase the configuration of DHCP on the DLR with the button relay remove, no dice. Tried to redeploy, fail with the same message. Tried to force synchronization, changes in status to "impossible to force synchronization. NSX Edge edge-3 is in poor condition. Try the operation again. The DHCP configuration disappears, but the change seems never commit, because when I browse the bracing or routing section and browse to the DHCP relay page, the original configuration is still there. It is a simple DLR with no configured HA. I have attached the newspapers of DLR tech support in case there is any support curious people out there. Note, vCenter 6.0.0 2741530, ESXi 5.5 Patch 5 reissue 2718055.

He was just going to remove the DLR and re-create it since it's a lab, but if it wasn't a lab I just want to know why it's a failure.

After reading more carefully, I apparently missed a step in the upgrade (hosts). I suggest that whoever does the upgrade follows the upgrade guide in pubs located here: 6.2 NSX VMware vSphere Documentation Center

    • Manager of NSX upgrade to 6.2
    • Upgrade of the Cluster controller NSX to 6.2, check the status of cluster control
    • Upgrade the cluster hosts for NSX 6.2
    • 6.2 the NSX border upgrade
    • Guest Introspection to NSX 6.2 update
    • Remove the NSX data security and redeploy

So I tried a lot of things to work myself back from that. I tried to upgrade the hosts but that didn't fly, esx-vxlan has been blocked to version 5.5.0 - 0.0.2691051. To return to a viable State in the end I had to nuke basically the GSS, logical switches, DLR, TZ, manually uninstall the NSX vibs and unsubscribe manager the NSX to vCenter in the cluster take-off of the State of "uninstall." From there, re - install the 5.5.0 - esx-vxlan 0.0.2983935 (6.2) vibs on the cluster worked OK, and I rebuilt the gateway routing and dashboard. So read before making anywhere near prod. : )

  • 2911 w/security - VPN with DHCP Relay to Win2K8, routing fail

    Hello

I have a 2911 router and tries to terminate a VPN inside.

I want to do this is before the DHCP request to a Server 2008 inside.

I actually received this part to work.  But it seems to be, 2911 router is not set the VPN clients on a VLAN internal associated with the range of network, the DHCP server is to give.  Or all least, does not have a flow of information between the IP address of the VPN Client and the router itself.

    (washed config below)

Example: VPN Client obtains the IP address of 10.101.55.10.  The router has a loop (or subinterface in my last iteration of the config) address of 10.101.55.1.

And yet, when my VPN client connects, I am not able to ping to an IP that my router has.  I can ping myself (10.101.55.10), but I only ping the router in any way which.

    Does anyone have any ideas?
