DHCP Server R2 2012 problem

Hello world.

I am new to Windows Server. I'm setting up a server to connect thin clients and use it only as an internet point.

Server roles installed: SC AD, AD DS, AD FS and AD LDS, AD RMS, App Server, DHCP, DNS, file storage Services, Hyper-V, IIS, IPAM, NAP, remote access, Remote Desktop Services. GOING to Services, WDS, Windows Server Essentials experience, WSUS Server Local, all servers.

My problem is that DHCP does not dynamically IP addresses in the clients. In trying to check the DHCP problem, I used followed enough of ipconfig ipconfig / renew and got the error message "an error has occurred during the renewal of the vEthernet of the virtual interface (my static IP port): unable to contact your DHCP server. I even removed then added the DHCP function and no change.

What I am doing wrong? Help, please!

Other tips on this deployment will be welcome, because I'm out of my League here and have no money to wait for him.

PS. I downloaded and installed SELFSSL for safety certification, as is (without modification).

  • Requirement of DNS and DHCP Server Essentials 2012 home

    I have a Server Windows Essentials 2012 acting as DNS and DHCP server with a domain name for backups etc on my home network. It's that everything works fine, no errors, no problem. Works well actually, telling me when the children did not install updates or restarted.

    I have two groups of users. My sons step, 10 and 12, which I want to use OpenDNS as a provider external DNS with a policy very, very limited and my wife and me who want to use indications of root or Google DNS or any other DNS provider. Others, specific devices no user (box of the xBox, WII, Satellite, TV, CCTV etc.) can use.

    Before the 2012 server, I had a 2 k 3 server running in a virtual machine for DHCP, alone and put my wife and my devices on static reservations with the just and external DNS provider used OpenDNS as the default scope, DNS. Unfortunately different bits of domain services 2012 don't seem to work unless the server of 2012 is the first DNS server listed on client machines (backups failed. Impossible to find other local computers). Currently, this means that we are all using OpenDNS.

    What I would like is a way to say 2012 to send adult group DNS queries to another DNS provider and leave the rest at default to OpenDNS, while still having them register in the original DNS domain. Any suggestions?

    But now, we have migrated our production environment for Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit operating system and using the 32-bit printer "HP Color LaserJet 4600 PS" driver in the operating system Windows Server 2012.

    Is the driver support 32 bit printer "HP Color LaserJet 4600 PS" Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit operating system?

    If it is not supported then what printer driver will support the Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit operating system?

    Hello

    CLJ 4600 is not supported on Windows Server 2012. However, you can use HP Universal Print Driver (UPD) for print on CLJ 4600 of Win Server 2012.

    Here is a list of the printers supported with the UPD: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c04324001#N106AD

  • Problem installing VMWare Workstation on a Server Windows 2012

    Hello

    I have problems when trying to install VMWare Workstation on a Server Windows 2012. Windows Server is Amazon EC2 environment and a generic image extended release.

    The problem is that the installtion process fails because of "Hyper-V" during installation, but after investigating the option "Remove roles and features" I can see that it is not installed.

    Is there any fixes for this issue?

    I enclose three screenshots for you pleasure.

    Regards, Ray...

    Hello Ray,

    Welcome to the VMware community forums.

    You run an EC2 instance that has just 615 MB memory installed?

    It's kind of a weird for a host, much too low for Amazon memory configuration, even be profitable.

    I think that your server is running UNDER Hyper-V, for example. It is probably a Virtual Machine.

    You can easily check that yourself by running the script from this site:

    How Hyper-V to: detect if you are inside a virtual machine

    If it's a Hyper-V virtual computer then I don't think you can install VMware Workstation on the virtual machine and run the nested clients.

    You could do the opposite (invited running hyper-V in a workstation virtualized on vSphere) but is not very fast.

    As you have no control over which platform virtualization Amazon use for their windows servers, I'm afraid you will have to go for a dedicated server instead of a virtual machine.

    Hope this helps,

  • Connection error Active Directory Windows Server R2 2012

    Hello

    That's my problem, I have two servers both running Windows Server R2 Datacenter 2012 I installed AD - DS on one of them and allow the installation to configure the DNS settings, this server is also a DHCP server. On the server I want to connect to AD, I address DNS pointing to my AD server which is 192.168.1.60 and it's also getting an IP address from the DHCP server. But it connects to Active Directory, when I try the ping command on the domain name which is yewman.email he's trying pings an external IP address (which is my public ip address because I also have the yewman.email of real estate) how to fix this? It's the mistake of connection AD:

    Note: This information is intended for a network administrator.  If you do not have your network administrator, notify the administrator that you have received this information, which has been recorded in the C:\Windows\debug\dcdiag.txt file.

    The following error occurred when DNS was questioned about the resource record (SRV) service location used to locate an Active Directory (AD DC) domain controller for the domain "yewman.email":

    The error was: "the DNS name does not exist."
    (0x0000232B RCODE_NAME_ERROR error code)

    The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.yewman.email

    Common causes of this error are:

    -The DNS SRV records to locate an AD DC for the domain are not registered in DNS. These records are automatically saved with a DNS server when an AD domain controller is added to a domain. They are updated by the AD DC at set intervals. This computer is configured to use DNS servers with the following IP addresses:

    192.168.1.60

    -One or more of the following areas do not include delegation to its child zone:

    yewman.email
    E-mail
    . (the root zone)

  • L2TP/IPSec connection failed for Windows 7 Ultimate for Windows Server R2 2012 with error 789.

    For this preface, I use the server in a lab environment and trying to set up my own VPN L2TP/IPSec. I opened the UDP 500 and 1701 TCP ports on my router for the interface of the primary server where is the VPN. It is on a Comcast connection consumer where other applications such as Arma 3 servers dedicated and IIS have worked.
    The RRAS role to run based on this tutorial: http://www.thomasmaurer.ch/2014/01/how-to-install-vpn-on-windows-server-2012-r2/ I have only strayed from it using DHCP forwarding instead of a static pool of IP as my router is running a DHCP server, and if I understand correctly, the router must give IP addresses of the internal IP pool which I use for everything else. I also use the PSK authentication rather than be based certificate. For the authentication of users I have MS-CHAP-V2 and CHAP enabled; I connect from the remote device with an account on that I created on the server for the purpose of this VPN I know RRAS connections are allowed.

    When the connection I get error 789: L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer detected a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer. From what I've seen, this can be fixed by checking that the two ends of the connection are not behind a NAT (not an option), verification of the PSK (already done) and certificates (not applicable). If there is a way to solve this problem that would be great, but my server will always be behind a NAT firewall because the router is one, and the modem becomes one if several devices are connected to him without a router between the two.

  • Can not get the comments DHCP server to allocate addresses on VMNet1 Host-only network

    Hi all

    Hoping someone can help with this question, here's my virtual machine configuration basis up to now:

    -Windows 2012 ADDS, DHCP, DNS server

    -Windows XP client

    The two guests use the network to host only VMNet1 and DHCP is disabled through work stations.

    The problem I have is that my Windows XP computer cannot get a 2012 server DHCP address and she comes back with the link-local address of 169.x.  If I configure my Windows XP machine with a static address on the same subnet as the two computers are able to communicate without problem, so I'm not sure where I'm wrong.  Wireshark shows the broadcast DHCPDiscover packet, but nothing is returned.

    These adapters have certain limits they can treat broadcast packets?  Or am I really missing something here?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Did you check the configuration of your Windows Server 2012 DHCP server? The scope is active? The server is OK?

  • Keep the IP if the DHCP server is offline now

    We have a customer who wants to be able to manage the IP addresses of all devices with DHCP, but the devices are supposed to keep their IP forever after the DHCP server has been taken offline. Is this a behavior that we can support on a controller of NOR?

    If this is not a configurable behavior an alternative could be to have controlelr auto configure to the last known IP if no such is acquired... but the VI apply network settings doesn't seem to work if done on the controller itself. Is this correct?

    With NEITHER in Norway (thanks), I found a solution which allows us to implement the required behavior.

    The main problem for us once we need to override the default behavior for DHCP was the fact that the RT apply target Network Settings.vi does not work if it is set to target the same controller as it is running. So how to exchange between DHCP and fixed? Well, it turns out that the network settings are also stored in the file of ni - rt.ini. So here's what we do: when the controller starts, we check if it is running in DHCP mode. If this isn't the case, we change this in the file nor - rt.ini and the reset - to see if the DHCP server is operational. If the controller is running in DHCP, we check if the IP address is valid (i.e. outside the local range of link). If it isn't read us the last known IP address and write those set in the file nor - rt.ini and restart.

    An example of the sections of the INI file:

    For DHCP, the section of the nor - rt.ini will look like this:

    [TCP_Stack_Config]

    USE_DHCP = DNS_Address

    Gateway USE_DHCP =

    USE_DHCP = Ip_address

    USE_DHCP = Masque_sous

    For a static IP address:

    [TCP_Stack_Config]

    DNS_Address = 0.0.0.0

    Gateway = 10.0.18.1

    Ip_address = 10.0.18.13

    Masque_sous = 255.255.255.128

    It would be nicer than the network RT target apply Settings.vi would work for auto-reconfiguration, but it saved the day for us at least in this case.

  • Updates Microsoft fails on a Server R2 2012

    I have 2 domain controllers: one is 2012 standard, and one is 2012 R2 server.  Both fail with the following errors - which are the same:

    There was a problem of updates.  Error (s) found: Code 80072EE2 Windows Update encountered a problem.  Updates are managed by your system administrator.

    I did a lot of research... first he says can connect to site updates - and it can.  I was the Microsoft Fix It - and he says he finds the problems and fixed them, but still the same error.  I also found a patch that I downloaded and tried to install - KB2919355 - but it is already installed.  I'm at a loss where to go from here.  If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
