Diagnosis of the monthly material hangs on the checkerboard Test

My HP P62101 desktop computer about 3 year, suddenly began to have questions during regular monthly Diagnostics. I have the latest version of the support Wizard - 7.0.39.15 - and have been unable to find any useful info on this troubleshooting. It happened twice today - I cancelled the first time, turned off all applications (it had started automatically while I was and had left a few living things) and tried again, but once more he got checkerboard Test and was suddenly no longer responds. The only reference I found was from 2010, and given suggestion has been updated of the wizard for help. Given that I later what should I do now before I panic?

Steps to change the HP Support Assistant Disk Defragmenter schedule:

1. open HP Support Assistant > click on storage, backup and recovery

2. click on Disk Defragmenter

3. click on the button Configure schedule+

4. to disable programmed defragments, uncheck the Run on a square on the calendar.

To change the calendar, select the options you want in the drop-down menus. The computer should be and not in sleep or Hibernate mode for defragmentation to run.

    Several clues:

    1. HARD and SATA drive in the message... On the way SATA HARD drive
    2. Clicking noise, which is an early signal of imminent death for HARD drive (there are only two types of readers... those who died and those who will be)

    I would like to start keep good clones (CarbonCopyClone, bombich.com, $40) for external drives or backups Time Machine.  Any backup of the drive, not just your favorite parts.  Perform backups on a schedule without fail IMHO.

    You can also start to consider a SSD at macsales.com (their mercury collection is highly recommended) or a new HARD disk, at least start planning if the SSD cost is worth the benefit of speed on the HARD drive.  You can buy it later.

    Just my paranoid approach to this situation.

    When I turned on my laptop this morning, he showed a black screen with text showing "an imminent failure" and run diagnostics.     Mfortuno, welcome to the forum.

    The SMART test does not, therefore, you have a failing HARD drive.  The only solution is to get it replaced.  If you're not compfortable with opening the case of your laptop, you should take it to a computer repair shop called.  While I'm not a big fan of the Geek Squad, they sell HP computers and know them well enough.  You should buy a HARD drive that is the same size or larger and the recovery media can work.  In my view, that it is a video that allows you to install the SSD or HARD disk.

    The self-test would occasionally fail my last update... after reinstallation of windows and the only solution I've found that never fails is to go to Device Manager, uninstall the device from there (do not delete the source files for the driver), and then rescan immediately a new material.

    Then it would work in data acquisition!

    It is difficult to say exactly why the HARD drive started to fail and there's always a random item concerned - I've known a few hard drives fail after a few weeks, while others can be quite happily far longer than expected.

  • Firefox crashes when I remove the message "Test Pilot"

    As I rebooted my PC (IBM thinkpad T43 running windows XP), Firefox sticks a message on the screen, heading ' new study test pilot ' with the message 'test pilot 'Firefox Desktop Heatmap 2012' is about to begin.
    I can't get rid of this message. If I click on the Red to close X, or the message "Details" Firefox crashes and I get "we're sorry, Firefox has a problem and crashed. How can I clear this message without crashing? Thanks for the info, John

    Yesterday I received an email informing me of the latest beta of Firefox was ready. I have currently in progress (version 13.0b1) and can confirm that this solves the problem. I no longer get the message that has been obscuring the corner of the screen. Thanks for the extremely fast response...   • Satellite M40: Modem fails the diagnostic test on WinXp Pro

    Satellite M40 comes with Windows XP Home Edition pre installed and when I ran the diagnostic tools to test the modem the modem passes the test. But when I installed Windows XP Professional SP2 media center, the modem fails the diagnostic test.

    What surprises me is that I have not received any error during installation and all devices, including the installed modem OK with no problems.

    Another observation when I tried to connect to the Internet using our dial back of company during installation of Windows XP Edition family's volition I remembered and the modem responds very well. But with Windows XP Professional SP2 media center installed the modem call how ever in "waiting for call-back ', when the server of our company try to call me, the modem does not respond and waits until I get the message Time out

    Please if anyone has an explanation for this decision No. let me know because it is driving my nuts.

    Have you tried to install the latest driver of modem? Please check if you have the right driver for Win Xp. You can find the drivers on the Toshiba site.

    In addition, Windows XP SP2 includes the new Windows Firewall. It is possible that the firewall is preventing the modem connection. You can try to disable the Windows Firewall.

  • Cannot send command via the VISA test panel in MAX

    I have a small question by using the VISA test panel in MAX.  I try to send a simple command to a device and then retrieve the response data.  I am able to do this successfully through Labview, but for some reason I can't get a good answer in MAX.  The command I sent you is merely a letter (unit address) followed by an end of line character (\r\n in ascii).  In MAX, I simply adding \r\n on the string sent in the buffer (end send on written == FALSE).  All parameters of series are the same as what I have in LV (19.2, 8-n-1).  Someone at - it ideas?  It of a bit frustrating that I just want to make something simple and do not want to have to build a whole routine in LV to do this.

  • PCI-6224-88302 during the self-test error code

    I'm having a problem with the auto test my card PCI-6224 in my computer. I am able to run 2 different tables successfully on 2 different computers, but this computer is that it seems to give me trouble.

    When I open NI MAX to run the test, it gives me a code error-88302 and explains the problem with the connection. I have tried unplugging the DAQ for my circuit and rerun the test but got the same error.

    How can - I have worse to pull this problem to take my next steps to solve this?

    Yes, at this point, it sounds like a software on this particular calculation problem - most likely a problem with DAQmx. What version of currently installed DAQmx? When you try the first troubleshooting steps that I recommended, don't you just fixed DAQmx or upgrade to the latest version of the driver? If you just fixed your existing installation, you can try upgrading to DAQmx 9.8 instead. You can download DAQmx 9.8 from the link below.

    Alternatively, you can try to reset the MAX configuration data. It is rare for this to happen, the MAX configuration database may be damaged, which may cause sytem problem as you can see. Follow the steps outlined in the document below to reset configuration data.

    At this point, it is probably just a matter of identifying what software is defective/corrupted and repair/reinstall. You can continue to try to do for this machine, or if you have another machine of work available, you can switch to this computer - depending on what is most convenient for you.

  • VI Analyzer Questions: Change the default test configuration and screw "Pavilion".

    I have two things I continue to come through in VI Analyzer:

    1. are there in any case to set the default VI Analyzer so that it applies to all projects, I'm working on that?

    I tried to create a task in project A, registration of the configuration and any attempt to open this file in project B, but it says that the file could not be loaded. The reason for my question is that there are a few default options that just add errors that we don't care (e.g. Controls dialog on the façade - 99% of the LabVIEW code that we are working on is called from TestStand as code modules, so the front panel doesn't really count)

    2. can I score / report some screws as 'safe' for parser tests?

    Basically, some screws may fail some perfectly safe way VI Analyzer tests (e.g. non-stanard errors on a 'closing' VI, who doesn't have a case error structure so that the device always gets closed). I wish I had a way to mark the VI kind VI Analyzer would ignore this particular test. This would allow me to have a rule that says something like "before any construction, run the file configuration VI analyzer and make sure there is not error", as opposed to "run VI Analyzer and examine errors, decide whether or not they are important for the VI in question..." ». An extension to this question would be how do I perform a task VI Analyzer before building when the VI Analyzer screw do not accept files cfg for project based tasks.

    1. a project oriented .cfg file cannot be transferred between projects.  Could you possibly create a .cfg unrelated to the project file (under the option 'Start a new task' on the first page of the VI Analyzer) and use it?  He would have no file in the list, but it would have all of the configured tests as you want.  And you could start with this on your different projects .cfg file... you would just add screws based on file (on page 2 of the VI Analyzer), rather than have all come to you in a .cfg project-based.

    2. on page 4 VI Analyzer, you can exclude certain tests to run on some screws and save these settings in a .cfg.  This option is also exposed in the VI Analyzer API with VIAn exclude the VI.vi Tests.

    This week I was freezing and crashing issues. It started with extended stop screen then the next time I went there on all programs break and so windows Explorer. The mouse pointer still works, but everything froze, I've also noticed that "read" flashes at 5-8 second interval.

    This phenomenon is persistent even on safe mode.

    Both the error codes and your description of the show all indicate that the hard is defective and must be replaced.

    If you want a guide on replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

    About your existing files, here are some options you can try.

    1. one possible way to try to recover your files from a disk non-boot is to follow the process described in the link below.  The CD of the Ubuntu operating system you create can launched from the CD alone (IE it doesn't have to be installed on the hard drive) and I've often found to successfully extract data even a hard failure.  When you created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can save your existing files.

    2 another option would be to remove the drive HARD, place it in an external enclosure - is an example of the link below - connect to another PC and see if you can access your files.
