  I use the DSC to LabVIEW 8.6 and 2009. I'm in California and at the New Mexico I want to connect a server EPICS there. I can read and write using the EPICS of command line, so I know that there is no firewall or hardware connectivity issues. For these programs, I put the IP address of the remote server in an environment variable (add to the EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST, and EPICS programs then all know here to look for process variables. How to do the same thing for LabVIEW? I tried to sign up for the remote computer in the Distributed System Manager, but that did not work. The remote computer is not running LabVIEW, but that shouldn't really matter. I just need a way to tell LabVIEW to check a specific IP address, and the channel access protocol will take care of everything else.

  I solved the problem in LabVIEW 2009. I added the IP address of the remote system to the SYSTEM (not the USER) EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST environment variable, then restarted. After that, I was able to access the PVs outside the local subnet. I did not restart after changing the front environment variable. In LabVIEW 8.6 the EPICS of the environment variables have been ignored, but in LabVIEW 2009, they are all used, if it works in the new version.

  In Windows Vista, whenever I would give the remote access connection to my PC at home, my default printer (which was be a shared printer on the network out of my server) will prepare its default value.  It was boring but easily fixible.

  I've since upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate and I'm having a related problem.  Now every time I connect remotely to my home PC, my default printer (same network shared printer - HP LJ 4000) disconnects, and it only comes back online after a reboot.

  It is a point of pain is huge for me because I usually 20 + / applications windows running at a given time and a restart takes 30 minutes out of my day to get back to where I was.

  When I try to start the Remote Access Connection Manager in services.msc, the service will not start. I get the same error: "Windows could not start the service of connection manager on the local computer remote access: Error 1068: the dependency service or group could start."  Also, I can not restore the system to come and let me run it.

  It is a Dell PP31L, which belongs to a friend who does not connect to the internet because of these error messages.

• Problem with the remote desktop connection.

  I have two computers on my network.  I'm trying to use the remote desktop connection to connect to each computer.

  Computer A allows me to edit or delete the credentials when I uncheck the box always "ask for credentials.  There are two sentences under the user name field.  The second sentence says "To use saved credentials, uncheck the following."

  Computer B I cannot edit or remove the credentials.  The checkbox is labeled "allow me to save credentials".  There is no ability to modify or delete credentials.

  When A computer using I am able to connect to computer B by using RDC.

  When using computer B I am unable to connect to the computer A using DRC.

  Any help would be appreciated.
