'dial-up connection' dialog box keeps popping up

When I use my computer (OS: Windows Vista Business) in offline mode, the dialog box 'dial-up connection' (asking me if I want to connect to the Internet) appears very frequently. It's super annoying!  Is there a way I can get it to stop happening in total (without affecting my ability, of course, Internet access by right clicking on the "Connect to a network" icon in the system tray)?

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

From the internet options in Internet Explorer, open the connection menu and select "never establish a connection" instead of "dial each time that a connection is not present". This will stop the automatic dialers-messengers, but will always give you the ability to dial manually if necessary.

  • Completely disable the "Untrusted connection" dialog box

I am a professional developer stuck behind a proxy at work. The behavior of this power of Attorney causes the SSL connection attempts get a certificate signed by my company, not the web site I try to connect to. I have no control over the proxy, so change this behaviour is out of the question.

I need to use Firefox for a number of things and am generally fine adding exceptions for sites that I want to connect. However, some sites like github.com loading resources many other areas via SSL (CDN, Google Analytics, Gravatar, etc.). For these sites, I try to add exceptions in order to allow the company a signed, cert but I can only add to github.com, not any other sites, so even after adding an exception I'm brought back in the right to the page "this connection is untrusted". No matter how many times I try to grant a waiver, I never really get to github.com.

Other browsers on my system are administered remotely and seem to be configured to automatically trust signed certs society. I need to know how to manually configure Firefox to always trust these certificates OR never shows me the unreliable connection dialog box and just maybe show red in the address bar when he does not trust the site cert.

Apparently in OS X, there are at the level of the authorities of certification system. I don't know why it does not use Firefox, but I was able to export the CA company and import it in Firefox. Finally solved my problem.

  • How to disable the "Insert smart card" dialog box keeps appearing after the connection?

Running Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop Dell which includes and integrated smart card reader. My configuration does not require a smart card to log on. I was wondering if the smart card reader has worked, I plugged a card chip used on another system. The driver is installed automatically, so it appears the drive works.

Now, whenever I log in, the "Insert smart card" dialog box is displayed. If I cancel or close the box, he continues to reappear every few seconds. How to disable this behavior?

Update: this is somehow connected to Outlook 2003. I have 4 different e-mail accounts. The "Insert smart card" box appears only when checking for my att account (yahoo), which is configured by using POP3.

Go to the Services.msc and check the settings for the smartcard (manual test) service.

The position of the OP, have been reported since a lot of this problem on the some notebooks Dell and HP. There are a few reports that a replacement of the motherboard fixed the problem and the other that the relocation of a certain connector (no mention of exaclly one that) solves the problem. Direct contact with the manufacturer of the laptop computer, Dell or HP wether, might be useful. Try a follow-up if you have already made contact.

  • I can't upgrade my Macromedia Flash software. The dialog box keeps telling me that I need to close Firefox and Firefox is not open.

I'm trying to upgrade my software Macromedia Flash and I can't perform the upgrade because the dialog box tells me to close Firefox. I close Firefox and the process keeps telling me that it cannot perform the upgrade until I close Firefox Firefox is closed! Don't know what I can do.

If you have already downloaded Flash Installer, restart your computer, and then try to run the installer of Flash. then try launching firefox and upgrade to Firefox 11. Does it work? Usually problems like this are caused by a bad extension, so if it works, we can diagnose your extensions.

  • Bug in the kuler desktop connection dialog box

    Hello

don't know if this is the right place for reports of bugs, but anyway:

on German systems, the sign @ is typed using a special key (AltGr), who usually works as a combination of Alt and Ctrl. @ so a combination Alt + Ctrl and Q.
Kuler desktop seems to omit the ALT key in this sequence and closed unexpectedly if you want to enter your email address in the login dialog box. Copy and paste is a way to bypass, but nevertheless, I think it is a bug.

    Best regards

    Mike

Well, I have the same bug.
    So:
    Type your e-mail address > copy (Ctrl + c) > and paste it (Ctrl + v).
It is indeed the only way to get around.

    Hello

When you say that you can not install Windows Installer CleanUp, I just need to clarify. You mean the latest version - Msicuu2.exe? The link here...

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

If so, wow... interesting problem. You can even run the program because you have to many contradictory installers that he used to open them. I or someone of another HERE will tackle this problem if that's the case, but first - let us know if the latest tool Windows install cleanup has the same problem?

Too... before I give it a shot... Make sure you have all the disabled virus scanners because they can also interfere with Setup and cause problems.

  • Java SDK (new) dialog box

    Hello my fellow partners Mac!

This seems to be a common problem, whenever we have a new version of Mac OS, but I can't, from my POV, find the right solution.

Every two hours or when waking from sleep, a dialog box appears telling me to install a Java Development Kit. As I said, this has happened many times before when you Google, but I can't find someone who offers you a solution where you don't need to install the JDK. It seems that the only solution is to succumb to the demand of the dialog box.

In my case (and this may vary, I'm not sure), it is the launchd process that requires it. But I can't go further than in my knowledge of the OS. I tried to delete all the files about kinds of Java and have looked everywhere for stuff that could trigger this, I deleted LauchDeamons, LaunchAgents, all related to Java I could remove in / System / * and (~)/Library/* etcetera, etcetera, but this dialog box keeps popping up, so something ask and I cannot understand what it is.)

What I need, is not install Java. I don't like, and I think that it is an old and dangerous technology. I want to just get rid of it all once and for all (and if all goes well, without having to reinstall everything form scratch).

Anyone can shed some light on this? It's the system itself that think I need this, or is there a way I can dig deeper to understand what triggers it?

    See you soon,.

The operating system does not use Java in some way. You have installed software that only requires Java, but it must also be Java 6 legacy published by Apple (and abandoned) years.

If you don't want to install Java, you must determine what software you have installed which requires Java and remove it. From what I've seen here, it's generally Adobe software that appears to have been poorly coded to only use the Apple of Java 6.
