Dial-up modem power off in safe mode

Windows Vista starts in safe mode - dial-up modem is disabled, so cannot connect to run.exe.  How modem to run in safe mode to use fix - it?

Hello.

Thank you for your interest in Microsoft Fix it Center (beta).

To activate your modem dial-up in safe mode, you can try to select the "Safe Mode with networking" option before Windows Vista starts. For more details, please refer to this article:

It will be useful.

    Hi all

Depending on the subject, I have the laptop above. When I boot it Win 7 hangs and does not progress. If I do the same in safe mode by pressing the F8 key again the windows is not progress. I get a flash of the blue tho screen at this point, but it disappears quickly to see what he says.

I did a lot of research and bought a crib drive, removed my properley drive hard laptop and connected via the cradle to my laptop works, hoping to see my files and then I was able to copy them.

Prevented, yes I did not a return to the top if desperate to get my photos once they are memories I don't want to lose. Connect the hard drive it starts and on my computerI see a new e: folder and a folder of f:.

If I open the f: folder shows which, in my view, is the partition with the toshiba backup or restore files. If I try and open the e: drive, it takes an age, and then finally said format of the drive. So I did another search and someone mentions do run a command to the command. My first question is how to the prompt if windows does not start.

But more importantly am I missing something for example are likely to be on the e: drive pictures, they are everywhere where I haven't looked.

If I restore my toshiba folder will this re image my pc or can I go back to a point through this before the problem.

Thanks for any help which is quite simple, because I'm not a computer type guy but quickly learn since that happened.

    See you soon

Somehow the disc is screwed. Problem of backup data are not directly question related to Toshiba and before you spend time here discussing such things I recommend you ask someone with good knowledge of the PC which can be done on the data record.

When the disc is in the notebook again start laptop as a first step the value default BIOS.
After doing this recovery of installation image. After doing this you will own preinstalled OS and everything should work again properly.

I hope that you will be able to do using HARD drive recovery option.

First of all, I upgraded from Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 months ago. This problem came up to the top, it will not wake up when I put it on the mode 'sleep'. I read a post here about it and followed the instructions of update of "Intel(r) HD Graphics Family' who got helped, but only for a while. Now, I am once again these strange things when I put my laptop on a sleep mode:

    1. when I put it on a sleep for more than an hour, it will not wake up.

Can someone help me as soon as possible please?

What is the version 9.0 or version 9.5? Because the linked page points to the version 9.5 for Win8.1 for your machine: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-14-Notebook-PC-series/5355001/model/5389795#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1

And if it does not, then you have a problem serious because there is no HP Win10 driver for your machine.

I think that I understand the first 3, but what the heck are the two trees for?

I tried to select and cannot tell any difference in the operation of my tablet.

The speaker with the mutes the audio with vibrate mode off X.

The tablet with two wavy lines on mute, but turn on vibrate mode.

The pregnant with two arcs UN-mutes the audio and turns off vibrate mode.

I don't know what the "two trees" icon is.

My HP Pavilion zv5240 running WindowsXP SP3, its power off suddenly by itself after running for 20-30 min. eventhough works on economy mode. What is going on?

This could be an overheating problem.  If your CPU overheats, then the power will suddenly cut to your computer.  Boot safe mode starts with less processeses and running tasks and so your computer can run more fees.  Since you get 20 to 30 minutes, the way to check this is to download and run freeware 'CoreTemp '.

It displays the temperature of your CPU and show you if it is not too hot before you stop.

The two main causes of overheating are fans of CPU does not and a build-up of dust in your computer that acts as a blanket and causes overheating.   If overheating is your problem, open the case, check the appropriate fan and buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust bunnies.

Another possible cause is bad RAM (memory) memory modules.  Try to remove and re - insert your RAM modules.  There are also tests of RAM, you can run - although they tend to be CPU, so you won't know if you have a RAM problem or a problem of temperature.

  • After a power cut my PC is in a loop in the start windows normally, safe mode, last known good configuration screen

After a power failure when I start my PC, it gets to the screen... "We apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully... When I try to reboot in one of the 5 modes to start normally, safe mode, safe mode with command prompt SafeMode with network, last known Noah correct configuration of their work and the loops of the computer to this sreen repeatedly.

KB307545 is a very bad idea to begin with - especially after a power failure (and it's usually just a very bad idea).  You don't describe symptoms suggestive of a need to run the KB307545, but, I'm not a Microsoft Support engineer so don't hesitate if you are forced to do, and I wish you good luck.

What you need to do, is start in the XP Recovery Console and run chkdsk/r first.  Is is possible that the blackout damaged your NTFS file system and a chkdsk/r is to clean it.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu you want to see, he has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

You need to choose in this menu is the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start tapping the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restart on system failure, and then select.

You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

If your system has a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), we need to know what the screen says:

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

    http://TechRepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/images/bsod_a.jpg

Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

If it looks like there is some kind of name listed in the STOP message file, send this line also.

Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

See what the BSOD said would be interesting, but I would still recommend that you run chkdsk /r from the XP Recovery Console to make sure your file system is not damaged.

Answer the questions and we can see what to do next.

  • At the beginning; After the Windows Logo at the start, the screen goes black and a POWER SAVE MODE comes up. I must stop button. I can run the computer as I am now in Mode safe mode with networking.

When I turn on the computer of gateway, the machine starts and the initial window logo starts and runs for about five seconds.  Then the screen goes black instead of blue and stays black for about 10 seconds.  A 'Power SAVE MODE' appears.  The machine is dead to all orders.  I have to stop by pressing the off button.  I can turn back and the F10 key to get in Mode safe mode with networking.

I tried to reinstall Windows XP original but it would erase my files.  I tried to restore the last good configuration also knowledge.  That did not work.

The change came after a Windsows update.  I have McAfee security and I asked Windows but could not use due ot a conflict. -C' is all this bad start.  Clues?  I use Negear.  No change when I hooked directly either.

Botton line, I can run in SafeMode with networking; but it is slow and I can't make alll I have to do.  What does not load Windows?

Unfortunately, the audio drivers would not work in safe mode, from your description, it is clear that the sound comes from the motherboard.

Therefore, you must contact your hardware manufacturer to verify any question in the motherboard.

  • How can I turn off the prompt to start in safe mode?

I noticed that, since the 18th of Firefox on Windows 8, I observed here safe mode window: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode?esab=a & as = aaq #w_safe-mode-window_2 pop up when Firefox crashes asking me to run mode without failure.

This window is helpful, but I want to turn it off. The circumstances in which I use Firefox it loads right in the window of the browser immediately (I am in the automated browser test.) The reason why my browser stopped is that I killed him with my script to send the command "taskkill /f /im firefox.exe" or "killall-9 firefox")

Safe mode window still does not load for me. I only noticed on Windows 8, not on all other platforms, but force intervention from me to go forward, I want to avoid.

Get help turning that off would be appreciated.

Hello, you can try this - enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named toolkit.startup.max_resumed_crashes. Double-click it and change its value to something very high as 999999 (setting to 0 or - 1 will also work, but I've not tried it myself).

Safe mode disables extensions in Firefox 4 and later versions, and disables hardware acceleration.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

If disable hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

If you have an ATI graphics card try turning off the "morphological filtering" in the catalyst display driver:

    Hello

If you have another system then plug your HARD drive as a secondary to another system & copy below the files of this machine.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe

Paste these files in the same location in the C drive of the problematic computer.
