  • Any difference between the separate function and aggregation in sql query cost?

    Hello
I've run many models sql stmts - such as:
    one) using a single table
    (b) using the two tables, using simple joins or outer joins

but I didn't notice a difference in sql stmts in cost and implementation plan...
In any case, my colleague insists on only using the aggregate function is less expensive compared to
separate... (something I've not confirmed, that is why I believe that they are exactly the same...)

For the situation described above under 1 sql... We could for example use
    select distinct deptno
    from emp
    select count(*), deptno
    from emp
    group by deptno
select distinct owner, object_type from all_objects
select count(*), owner, object_type from all_objects
    group by owner, object_type
Have you ever found no difference between the two...?

    Note: I use Ora DB 10g v2.

    Thank you
    SIM

    Alexandre Gelin says:
function separate and aggregation are for different uses and can give the same result, but if you use the aggregate function to get the separate records, it will be expensive...

really? I find them almost identical to 11g. Actually GROUP BY is almost always more fast for me in the old days.

article about this askTom Re: any difference between the separate function and aggregation in sql query cost?
This applies mainly to the older oracle versions http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/rdb/pdf/distinct_derivedtables_groupby_sort_tech_article.pdf

I am looking to buy some new 6921 charcoal IP phones and I am confronted with 2 options:

CP-6921-CL-K9 = Cisco Unified IP Phone 6921, charcoal, combined Slimline

  • Examples of error performance... ? Difference between the runtime error and the syntax error?

Hello, I know that an implicit validation occurs before a runtime error.

What is the difference between a runtime error and the syntax error (syntax error seems pretty obvious).

Could you give me an example or 2 an error of execution'd. Should not be explained with statements etc. just a small example of first.

Hello, I know that an implicit validation occurs before a runtime error.

You do? How do you know that? What is the source of your information?

What is the difference between a runtime error and the syntax error (syntax error seems pretty obvious).

The syntax is checked at the time of the analysis/compile. Runtime errors occur to, of course, of execution time. You can NOT run sometimes that there are syntax errors.

Ideally, Oracle has created an entire book of them. Make your choice.

  • The difference between the admin directory and directory patch?

    What is the difference between $< PRODUCT_TOP >/admin/sql and $< PRODUCT_TOP > / 115/patch/sql

I looked at a number of packages on my system, and they seem to be constructed from its location *.pls in my $< PRODUCT_TOP > / patch/115/directory sql

However it is normally also have a file with the same name in $< PRODUCT_TOP >/admin/sql, but it generally has a different version number (in my case, I found some files in it that have a version number that is greater than what is in the directory of 115/patch/sql)

    Thank you
    Jim

My understanding is that the product admin directory using automatic upgrade as part of an upgrade?

    Fix.

    Q. Since Auto Upgrade is involved, I guess that means say 11i upgrade for R12 (what was once a migration) rather than what would be a Pack of updates to version (which is formerly a Maintenance release) for example 11.5.10.2?

I would say that it is applicable to all the patches that update APPL_TOP, so it applies to the outermost Regions and the Maintenance Pack patches but not an 11i to R12 as a new APPL_TOP upgrade is created in this case (unless you are referring to the new APPL_TOP).

    Q. the patch product_top directory holds transferred files in to adpatch?

    Yes.

If he holds only the latest version provided by the various patches that have been applied to this top product?

    Yes.

Q: why would the product_top directory admin hold files with version numbers higher than that which is in the product_top patch?

Can you give an example for this?

    Thank you
    Hussein

If you mean if an application (designed to work with oracle only) can actually access SQL server or DB2 without any change. If I have a transparent gateway on top of DB2 or SQL Server?

You took me. I should have used different words.

Lol TG is a mechanism to query the other Oracle's RDBMS. GG is a mechanism for replication between any RDBMS.

  • What is the difference between HP Photo Creations and Snapfish

    I've been curious.

What is the difference between HP Photo Creations and Snapfish?

Hi Jeff17866. The difference between these two services are the location, accessibility and share-ability of the recorded images. Snapfish is a photo on the web edition and sharing and belonged to printing HP service. You upload your images on the Snapfish site and share with other sites (Facebook, Flickr, etc) by selecting the appropriate options. The images are then stored on the cloud, and you will be able to access it from any device with Internet access. So, if you want to easily share your photos with your friends and family around the country, Snapfish is a great tool to do. HP Photo Creations is a photo editing software that you download to your desktop. You can edit your photos and order prints just as with Snapfish, but all pictures remain on your hard drive. They can be shared by downloading files on the sites you want the images appear, but you are not able to access it on other devices. -Chauntain

  • What is the difference between the substituted glyphs and substituted fonts?

    Hi all

Someone could tell you what is the difference between the substituted glyphs and fonts substituted in the Panel preference.

    Thank you

    Kasi

    1. In InDesign, the word police refers to typography and style: you might miss Helvetica or, for example, Helvetica Bold.
    2. A glyph is a particular form of a character in a font: for example, the letter H can be available as a standard H or a signature H or ornament. If the police does not have the signature or ornament glyphs, which would produce the missing message of glyph.

  • What is the difference between a mixture, Fix and Express?

I use regular PS on my computer but wanted to use a similar app on my ipad.  Then I saw that there was a choice (ahhh!)   What is the difference between a mixture, Fix and Express?

    Hi Steve!

    Thanks for reaching out.

Difficulty: Adobe free new Photoshop Fix, capture CC apps enhance your photographs and capture assets | PCWorld

Fixed introduced options that allow you to 'fix' and enhance your images in photo editing.

Mix: photo and image editor app | Download Adobe Photoshop Mix

Mix presents the composition options. This means that you can combine several images, cut out backgrounds and active layer.

Express: Photoshop Express is like a version blocked Photoshop with an interface that looks like the desktop application.

Thus, with respect to the app you choose, it really depends on what you would use it for. Do one of these hopeful sounds?

    Let me know!
