Different backup devices 2

Can I save my IMac & IPad at the same airport Time Capsule?

The iPad is not back up directly at the airport in Time Capsule... it back up to iTunes on your Mac... or... to iCloud depending on what destination you have chosen. See this document from Apple for more information about backups of iOS.

How to back up your device using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support

If... you have the support of the Time Capsule iMac, then the iPad in iTunes backups are so backed up.  So, the iPad could be backup indirectly in the time Capsule.

  • Can I use Time Machine for several different backups?

I have my 500 Gb HD Macintosh that saves on two external hard drives (two 500 GB), so I always have two backups! But I have another external hard drive (1 TB) with a lot of footage on it I want backe up on top of a new external drive (1 TB)! It is possible to configure Time machine to do it automatically for me, also two different backups?

TM can run a backup plan. You can include the other external drive backup on the backup TM drive or the existing disks as well as your Mac HD drive. You can save all the new 1 TB disk readers (or readers if you want to add others). 500 Gig drives are not big enough for all readers of backup too.

What you might consider is use SuperDuper or CCC to back up the other disk to the new 1 TB drive.

    Hi, Pascale.

    ·         What version of the operating system is installed on the computer?

You must use "Edit" and make a backup to the new location and accept this new location as new default backup location.

There seems to be no simple way to tell Windows to perform a full backup to a certain place designated as a secondary backup in case of failure of the primary backup device. However, you can easily create a system image without changing the default backup location.

  • Model bag Clickfree Automatic Backup Device HD325 does not work in the Windows XP computer.

Original title: BAG Clickfree Automatic Backup Device model HD325

Cannot use the automatic backup device model Clickfree BAG HD325 on Windows XP.  It's a plug-and-play device.

I tried to pass by and update the driver, but the wizard tells me there are no newer drivers available, and when I try to restore the driver tells me that there is no previous driver.  The USB port works properly and is the reading device.  I also tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver by using Device Manager, and the camera will not work properly.  The taskbar has said it malfunctioned, impossible to install correctly. and won't work properly, but after fiddling around by using the methods mentioned above, it says now that it is installed and ready to use, but the program does not start automatically.  I've been through to try to start the program manually, but it is not listed in the start menu or desktop.
I also tried to add material using add new hardware, but it's not listed there either.
I was able to use this program in the past, why I am no longer able to use this device?

  • PowerVault MD3220i error (insufficient ability to backup device Cache)

    Hi all

I appreciate your time and assistance with the following question.

I recently upgraded to the latest firmware on my HP MD3220i and installed the corresponding update of the NVRAM.

After you install the update, I get the following error in MDSM.  I checked the cache backup capacity and the total used the two related 1 680 MB.

Is there a reason that the error occurs and what is the best approach to fix this problem?

I checked the forums but don't see anything specific in addition to replace the module or the upgrade of cache memory.  Otherwise, the device works without problem, but like most of you, I hate this clear amber flashing in a data center perfectly Blue :)

    Thank you!

Ability of the insufficient Cache backup device

    Hello, Omar.

This error has been research. In all cases this error is visible by our technicians of telephone, the RAID controller is replaced.

After talking to some experienced engineers, I would recommend replacing this controller.

This error can occur either bad shutting down the table leading to a corruption of the meta-database backup, or the stick (a small SD card) cache could be dethroned.

You * can * try to remove the controller, wait that the "power run" for draining, reinstall the cache memory card and then put it back in the slot. Who can clear this error, but no promises. However, we do not replace the cache card herein. The only thing that replace us inside the controller's battery.

I hope that helps you out. Let me know if you have any questions.

  • WMP does not recognize the 3 different portable devices

I have a new PC Win 7 with WMP. My PC DID recognize 3 different portable devices, when I connect (an iphone a plane mp3 iriver and Sandisk fuze mp3 player.) But WMP does not recognize everything, even if the PC is. I've tried different USB ports on the PC, makes no difference, other than that, all works fine USB ports. And I didn't look at using WMP, which does not seem to realize that this problem can exist, no info at all.

How to make WMP to recognize so I can sync? And BTW, I'd like to go back to WMP in Vista, I'm bored of advanced tag editor.

    Thank you.

When you write that the PC recognizes your devices, you got the popup that says that each device has its driver installed and it was ready for use or that you just want to say that you get another indication that the device is connected?

What WMP version you have (click Help > about Windows Media Player; if you do not see the menu file/View/Play/tools/help, right-click at the top of WMP)?

  • Mobile Directory oracle to different physical devices causes a fatal error

    Hello

I moved the folder integer oracle (in my case, it includes all oracle related files: directory of executables and 'oradata') to a different physical device. After mounting the new physical location even device of the directory, oracle starts but does not give me later ' ksedmp: internal or fatal error ' and ' ORA-00600: internal error code.

(About the steps that I followed)

-closing of the database (completely /etc/init.d/oracle stop - all processes have disappeared)

-copy the directory structure (from / dev/hda1 to/dev/hdc1)-files at this location are identical after the copy

-replace the/dev/hdc1 at the same place (/ home/oracle)

    -Start oracle

-the DB starts and works of a great extend but trace and log alerts present FRAME of stack/trace dumps and unpleasant mistakes

    -Oracle version: 10.2.0

    I checked the size of the physical block on both devices (using/dev/hdc1 dumpe2fs | grep-i "s block") and it's different: 1024 on hda1 and hdc1 on 4096

    Issues related to the:

-is the above mentioned block size the reason things don't work? If so, is there an easy solution?

-If not, so what's the problem?

-Yes, I know that I can export the entire database and re-import them on a different device, but thought I should be able to skip this step if I simply want to swap hard drives

d ' other suggestions are welcome

    Thank you and best regards,

    Filip

-to copy I used 'cp - r Pei source dest' - r is recursive is Pei o maintain the same permissions and ownership of files.

I wouldn't be so sure that you reproduced successfully your devices. Are you using symbolic links? If so, that you converted symlinks to files they point out (source). You should be able to reproduce two complete directories using cp - av, however, I prefer to use the following, assuming that you mount the new drive under/mnt/hdc1 and that you want to copy everything under/U01, so you can later mount/dev/hdc1 under/U01:

    mkdir Pei/mnt/hdc1

    mount/dev/hdc1/mnt/hdc1

    CD/U01

    tar - cf-. | (cd/mnt/hdc1; tar - xf - sync)

  • Time capsule: no backup, device not found but internet work

After my vacation my Time Machine's backups. The Internet works, but the backup utility cannot find the device more. The last backup is a few days before my holiday a month ago.

In the Time Machine - page select disk (config) TC logo is there, but the only option is to 'remove' the current disk/copy.

El Capitan, Time Capsule + Airport Express; Time Machine

I think I have solved the problem in a strange way:

-J' watched the disc of airport in the Finder; He had to connect to the TC unit (password information automatically), and content (two sparsebundles) was now visible.

And after that, at the same time the backup started. It will take 7 hours to complete the backup. It seems that it is regarded as an initial backup then.

Furthermore, the disc name is passed automatically Time Capsule etc. airport to disk .

  • More than one backup device on one Time Machine HD

I have an iMac, MacBook Air and airport Time Capsule and want to use Time Machine to back up the iMac and MacBook Air at this time Capsule.

Is the OK of Time Capsule have more than a backup Time Machine on his hard drive or time Capsule prefers to be dedicated to a single device?

    Thank you

    -Mike

You can absolutely use the time Capsule to back up multiple devices, as long as you're not on its storage capacity. For example, if your Time Capsule 2 TB of storage, it will not be able to save six iMacs with, say, 1 TB of data on each, but he can easily save your six iMac if you use only 128 GB of storage on each.

Moreover, the mode of operation of Time Machine is that it backs up your devices until it fills up with backups, then it starts the deletion of old data, then you are more likely to be able to go back, say, eight months, a Time Capsule, which is the only backup of a computer.

The first backup you make take as much storage, then it saves only the changes, then other backups take as storage space (unless you happened to download several movies or installed several video games since your last backup).

  • Time Machine - an exclusion different backup for the backup drives different time machine

I hope someone can help me.

For these past years, I used 2 Time Machine backups to keep all safe. I have 1 backup x who lives at home and is 3 times the size of my disk. I also have a second drive of laptop that I travel with, which is partitioned to give a little time machine backup, more than 1.5 TB of "overflow storage (for movies, video files, etc).

Recently however, I realized that my "storage of listening" actually contains a large amount of data I wouldn't lose (especially the photos of my children because they were born), so now I want to save this drive as well.

If my ideal situation is to have a huge drive I leave at home. This contains backups of the computer AND 'excess of storage' backup. It's pretty simple to implement.

But can someone tell me if my trip backup, will try also to the other partition of the backup drive? And if so, is there anyway to give different time machine backups different exclusions.

Hope that makes sense and hope that someone can help me.

    Thank you
    John

You will need to manually change the exclusions when you going on a trip. There isn't a way to change automatically.

  • Synchronization of different DAQ devices

    Hello dear members,

I want to order the spindle motor. He needs three analog time delay signal to the reader. With the LabView program, I generated the three delay time of signals. But I have the hardware DAQ who have only two analogue output pins. So, I decided to use two data acquisition devices so that can get three analog output ports. I'm a little worried about the synchronization between the two Renault. I will be happy if someone can help me to let the different Renault synchronization procedure.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards

    Azim

    Hello azeem,

There are different ways to sync a/o on the DAQ hardware. However, it depends on what devices you use. Could you tell me what DAQ hardware you use? LabVIEW coding is not very difficult, but how you connect the hardware will be different. For example if you use two pci cards you can connect them via a RTSI cable; Use them as master and refer to the clock out of the master.

    Kind regards

Any ideas why Backup cannot recognize him now?

    Hi IdahoMt,

    1. are you able to select the other readers?

I would ask you to set the computer to clean the start state, and then try to run the backup and verify.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow the steps as explained in the article to reset the computer to start as usual.
