  This error can occur if there are problems of system files on the drive selected for the backup file location. Have you tried to save the backup to a drive or another location? Please try the following to fix the disc
  [1] method: Using Check Disk to find the files corrupt
  • In the start menu, look for invites
  • Right click on command prompt and select run as administrator
  • When the application starts, insert the following text and press ENTER: Chkdsk.exe/f/x k:
    Where we mean K:  the disc damaged.

  NOTICE: Check disk is maybe not able to lock the drive and launch the operation if the disk contains files required for Windows to run correctly. It asks if you want to schedule a check disk at the next startup upwards instead.

  Is the CD/DVD drive listed in Device Manager correctly or you have yellow exclamation points?

  If your drive is marked with a yellow exclamation point, you must remove it from Device Manager and reboot the laptop. After that the drive will be installed again and you don t need another driver. The driver is part of the operating system.

  Ideas: my IBM Intellistation Z Pro 6221 boot from IDE hard drive. Error message "MPT Boot ROM - no deices found!" error message is displayed. Machine will start from a USCSI drive when it is connected. IDE drive is then recognized as drive D: to hard drive which does not physically OK. Normal order of BIOS. While that started from the drive SCSI Windows detects the IDE drive and after a reboot, I get a message that says that the ROM of the MPT Boot has been installed successfully. But when I disconnect the SCSI disk and then try to boot from the IDE, I again get the error "MPT Boot ROM - no device found!"

  Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  The ROM of the MPT Boot part of the SCSI controller.  So, when you disconnect the SCSI drive, you will get the error message.  If the SCSI controller is a card, you can remove it, and then check your BIOS settings to start the command and make sure that the BIOS sees your IDE drive.  If you have problems with the hardware being not recognized before it starts with Windows, then you will need to contact your OEM for support.   I look at intermittent crashes, where my cursor becomes an hourglass and the system does not yet meet the ctrl-alt-delete.  In the case of a newspaper, I find

  How can I determine which physical devices this is associated?  This indicates a hardware problem, or driver or firmware may be the source? The system has worked very well for a few years.  I'm not aware of any change in software that took place recently, although I have had by force, remove and reinstall iTunes earlier.

  I run SMART on all players controls and run diagnostics.  I ran chkdsk on the one I found the culprit, but not mistakes.

  Just in case it was a deadlock linked to memory, I tried to use the Diagnostics memory Microsoft on floppy, but it would not write on the disk (even if I could format and copy the files freely).

  Go to your configuration and see which drive is for each port; 1,2,3,4...

  Then go to the Device Manager and look at how many SATA controller you have and how many ports for each, then start count from 0 to IdePort0, 1, 2, etc. for each SATA controller, so if you have 4 ports for each SATA controller, here is how you came from:

  IdePort0 1 -, 2 - IdePort1, 3 car - IdePort2 and road 4 - IdePort3 in the order of road by car

  Running 32-bit vista, mem 4 GB, quad-heart 2.4 ghz, 750 GB HDD, diving to backup main is 80 GB installed in the machine or 500 GB external hard drive. Common command used C is 286gig.

  In the BIOS settings advanced, you can also check if the onboard sound is enabled.

  You need Vista Business or Vista Ultimate or Enterprise Vista for backing up the computer.
