Difficulty of startup disk after copying the OS to new SSD

This morning and used EaseUS partition wizard to copy the recovery partition, OS partition (C :) and unnamed in the SSD partition, I received a shiny new SSD. I should have used one of the many software migration available but I didn't, so I've been running a few problems. I have everything but the d: more expanded and copied in the new SSD drive C (on the SSD) to occupy all of the space allocated.

From there, I set my BIOS to boot from the disc SSD and Windows loaded normally, so I assumed that the new drive was working how I wanted and erased everything except the D drive on the old drive. After the reboot, I have met with a cursor flashing instead of the windows logo 7.

After some research, I think my problem might by one of the following:

The operating system on the new drive partition was not set up active, is not loading at startup.

The system partition does not recognize the new, larger OS partition and must be reset to match the new partitions.

The OS copied on the new SSD is simply not bootable.

I used my laptop (Ubuntu) to check the SSD drive, and all the OS files are there, exactly how I expected to be after you copy the files using EaseUS.

I have the Windows 7 installation disc, as well as the old HDD and the new SSD. I can do to fix the OS on the SSD so that I don't have to do a new clean install, or who is my best option?

Thank you, Ty

  • help - a few corrupt after copying the dng files

    Hello

I don't know where to post this, but here's my problem:

When I copy files dng from the computer internal hard drive to a hard drive, many files become corrupt (I guess). When I opened the copies, photoshop just says that he "cannot complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this file type." On OS x, you can usually see a thumbnail preview for each file, but files corrupt, there is only a symbol of dng, and when I enlarge him to preview it will not also show the image.

Of the original files all work perfectly fine. Oddly, not all copied files get damaged. I tried two different hard disks, both had the same problem. copy to another location on the internal hard disk works without problem.

A that someone has encountered such a problem? I couldn't find anything like it online, I don't even know if it's a hardware or software related issue.

    Thank you!

  • "You do not have permissions to access this folder" after copying the files on server 2012R2

Recently, I've copied the 600GO files and folders using Robocopy from 2003 to 2012R2. No problem with the copy, but the properties of the root of the copied files showed a number of size and file incorrect directory to the same directory on Server 2003.

Pursuit of the investigation, it seems that even if I am in a group of security on all files (with full control), I can't navigate some of them. When I select some files, I get a popup saying "you don't have permissions to access this folder." If I click on the "Continue" button, I also have access to the folder.

When I check the permissions applied to the folder, it shows my group listed (with full control in the source files) and now added my user account security and given full control permissions.

Anyone can shed light on what is happening here?

To answer my own question, I just find some information about it and it is linked to the good old UAC.

  • Restore failed HP of Win8n after reboot when restoring to new SSD on Pavilion G6 2284 cell ca

System: HP Pavilion G6 2284 cell ca

    OS: Windows 8

Relevant additional material: OCZ 240GB SSD Vertex 3 Max IOPS Edition (firmware 2.25)

    Steps to reproduce:

    (1) HP Pavilion G6 2284 portable ca new unboxed

    (2) used HP backup/restore software to create a backup of the OS (22 GB) factory on USB. Commpleted without error

    (3) taken from default HDD and replaced by the new OCZ Vertex 3 240 GB SSD

Booted 4) of the USB in the restoration of HP.

    (5) restoration of HP software detected the SSD, formatted, copied the files of operating system to it, unpacked the OS files and said she needed to reboot in order to continue the restore process.

    (6) system restarts and displays the error message "Boot device not found - please install an operating system on your hard drive - (3FO)"

I repeated several times with different options of default BIOS (disable UEFI, check the boot order, forcing the boot hard drive, etc.), the process of restoring without effect.

If I leave the USB key in when it restores, it starts on the USB and load restore HP, stating that he found the USB as the first boot device (although it is listed after the hard drive in the order in BIOS).

My best guesses are 1) restoration of HP software is incorrectly written statement details starting sector/UEFI/OS boot during the restoration of the reader and so when the system boots it gets a corrupt boot sector/OS start the details of the statement and so cannot find the operating system.  2) there's a hardware incompatibility with the OCZ Vertex 3 240 GB (2.25 firmware) drive that allows it to be visible in the BIOS and visible to restore Manager HP to format/copy of files, but which prevents the direct start for some reason any.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you.

After several additional hours of troubleshooting (and 2 levels of support HP being completely clueless on the issue), I could solve the problem.  It is not related to the EHR.

The restoration of HP software, when it is started from USB, seems to alter the UEFI devices and incorrectly referred to the boot drive during the process.  The only way to fix the problem is to enable "legacy" mode in the BIOS (which is not the default), and lower the priority of UEFI boot devices are much lower in the list (the BIOS does not allow a complete deactivation of UEFI, much to my annoyance).  If you start the restore software of HP USB stick with legacy mode enabled, the boot device designation, he writes to the hard drive is correct, and at startup, the BIOS has no trouble finding.

This issue should occur exactly in the same way with the hard drive by default.  It is not related to the EHR.  This is a bug in the HP restore software that is not properly manage the UEFI boot, which is the default value on this laptop.

I'm not sure if this problem will be solved by the BIOS update you suggested.  For now, since the system is now works fine, I won't upgrade the BIOS.  I'll keep an eye on its stability, however.

  • Install the OS on new SSD

I have an iMac 27 inches in 2009 and replaces the HD with an SSD. I have the new SSD installed and have a copy of a DVD/CD MBP OS. Can someone tell me how to get the operating system on the new SSD? Is it feasible with the disc MBP?

    Yes.

  • Install the EFI on new SSD partition when doing 10 costs of Windows Installer

I have a similar problem to this topic. Windows was originally (and still is) installed on my HARD drive and I just installed my SSD recently. When I did a clean install of Windows 10 on my new SSD it has not installed the EFI partition.

Is there a way to create a new partition on the SSD EFI (of course I have to do another new facility) or do I have to physically unplug my HARD drive before you begin?

my personal rule, I always disconnect a disk with a partition bootable OS, just to reduce the troubles and do not mix the boot managers (I prefer to select the BIOS boot device)

If all else fails, there's only so much you can do with an error like this, checking until it boils down to a faulty processor that needs to be replaced. Start from 1 and work down:

    1. make sure your temperatures are the norm and nothing is overheating. You can use a program such as Speccy if you want to monitor the time - http://www.piriform.com/speccy

2 clear your CMOS (or optimized load BIOS default) to ensure that there is no parameter incorrect BIOS - http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/tp/clearcmos.htm

    3. make sure that your BIOS is up to date.

4 if all else fails, the only one left to do is replace your CPU because it is defective.

  • You are prompted for the startup disk after PC Backup

I want to back up files to an external hard drive (my hard drive is a FAT32 file system), I wanted to save on my removable hard drive from WD, but the program would not let me do this.  I discovered that I could put it in a drive on my computer I've ever used.

So I used the feature to backup all the files on the computer.  After 3 hours, the program prompted me to put in a 3.5 diskette formatted as a boot drive.  (I had everything that I have is a flash drive.) He wouldn't let me change to my flash drive.

Lost all my info? How can I use this return to the high back, now?

    Help, please

What is your goal? A single backup? Regular backups? You want to save your data ONLY? Or you want to back up your ENTIRE system?

I know there are a lot of questions, but it is important to know what it is you want to do!
In the meantime, change the file system of your external hard drive from FAT32 to NTFS:

Convert FAT32 to NTFS in Windows XP:

    • Click Start-> Run
    • Enter "cmd" in the field of text labeled "Open".
    • Button click OK
    • If you want to convert drive D (d), enter the "flight d:" command in the command window, find the name of volume for the D: partition
    • Then enter the command "convert d:/FS: NTFS" to convert the partition D: from FAT32 to NTFS
    • When you are prompted, enter the name of the partition volume

    Hi all

I made a huge mistake which I deeply hope will have a solution. Let me explain with an example. I have a file has my local drive (unit D) with A1, A2 and A3 subfolders it contains. I have a folder in my hard disk with only A1 inside.
I copied folder from the hard drive of my D drive accidental everything. As a result, I lost A2 and A3.
Is it possible to recover these files?
    Thank you very much

Looks like you have created a data CD.

You need an Audio CD (music) for playback in a standard CD player.
(an exception to this rule would be if you had a CD player that has been
compatible with the files MP3 and you burn a CD of data with MP3s)

    See the following article...

I work in Adobe Premiere CS4. Due to an error with one of my projects, I found myself just copy all the videos, but also audio (which has a lot of splices fadeouts/complex) to another project. When I try to play the audio in the timeline panel, however, there is just silence. The video is very good, although, in addition to things like the scale being off, that I accepted that I'll have to do it again manually. But does anyone have any ideas as to why the audio is just not playing at all? Thank you.

Select one of the clips of silent and Park then the head top.  Perform an operation to Match Frame by pressing the M key.  That should bring back your audio files.

  • Missing originals after copying photos for a new mac external HARD disk library. How to fix this?

Move the library of photos hosted on an external HARD during a new mac disc.

I can open the app and import new pictures, but I can't change any of my previous photos because he complains that the original is not found. The "Use as system library" button is gray which implies that the current library of photos on the new mac is defined as the system library.

I still have access to the external HARD drive that I imported a couple hundred new photos for the new mac.

    How can I fix?

How did you set up your library.  You use a library "referenced"?

If Yes, then you have lost the links with the original files.

You have the iCloud library enabled in the preferences of the iCloud photo Panel?
