Disable function keys will not be

I have a laptop windows 8.1, and when I go into the menu of the BIOS and disable keys action, it does not work. I tried to save her and stop the PC several times but it just won't work. All solutions?

Hello starguy197, welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see you try to deactivate the fn keys. I will try to help you with this.

If you have tried the steps in this document: Deactivate the Fn + combination of function keys on some models, it may be that this is not possible with your model.

You can try pressing Fn + NumLock or Fn + Scrollock, those can also deactivate the fn.

I hope you're able to help.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Qosmio X 500-mode 'sleep' and function keys will not work

    Hello guys!

I have two problems with my X 500. First of all, sleep mode does not work correctly. In fact, it does not at all. When I try to put the laptop into sleep mode, it simply stops, even if it seems as if it was in sleep mode. The problem occurred recently, and I had not installed updates from the driver or just anti-virus software before. The hibernation mode works very well.

The second problem is that some of the function keys do not (red below the power button). Namely the eco mode button, the mute button and multimedia button. This problem occurred a long time ago, and it is also likely to be due to any software installed. The other keys work fine.

Please, help me to solve these questions, if you know how. Thank you!

    Hey Buddy,

How are you trying to access the bar in view? For example, you can access the standby mode if you press the FN + F3 key combination.

In addition, follow the instructions posted by Akuma. Try to reinstall the package of added value and a system restore if you have installed additional software to check what software is causing this problem.

  • Why my wireless function key will not turn on my wifi?

    Hello

What is the brand and model of the computer?

You need to maybe also enable or disable the laptop WiFi by pressing the function key and pressing F2.

    Method 1:

We will run the network troubleshooter and see if it can detect and correct the problem.

Open the utility of network troubleshooter by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, then click on the problems.

For more information, see the "Microsoft Help" and "How-to's Article" :

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

    Method 2:

You can also follow the steps and check.

    1. Click Start, type center network and sharing in the start search box and press ENTER.

    2. click on change adapter settings.

    3. right click on the connection, and then select activate.

If the problem persists, contact the manufacturer of your computer for known problems.

    Hi all,
I have this device: Satellite L850-1PD with Windows 10
Before, with the function FN + F2 or FN + F3 key Windows 8.1 it was ok, now with Windows 10 I have problems.
I cannot increment or decrement brightness
    Help me!!!

    Good evening

I also have a Satellite L850-1PD upgraded to Windows 10, it would seem that even if Microsoft has provided an update to win 10, Toshiba doesn't include not among mobile phones compatible with Windows 10 and does not release from updates. For me it does not work the buffer until it has fully started winning 10, and I do not use the touchpad.

  • Function keys is not working

I have a laptop two months of j020dx m7 Touchsmart from HP Envy Windows 8.1 running old.  My problem is that the F1 through F12 function keys do not work.  Functions void such as the brightness of the screen, the volume of the speaker, WiFi, etc. work (without having to press the "fn" key).  But in programs that use the F1 - F12 function keys, that they do not work.  Pressing one keys activates the Sub-function all the time.  A possible solution to push the F10 or F2 key has produced this problem on this forum (don't remember who now) to enter the BIOS at startup settings.  Here, I should be able to enable or disable the feature keys.  But there is a catch 22 because pushing the F2 key at startup reduces the brightness of the screen which is what I call the Sub-function and not him F2 function.  I thought that the right way for the function keys work is to push F1 to F12 when it is asked in a program and when you want the Sub-function such as brightness, wifi on or off, dimming etc., press the "fn" key and the corresponding function key.  I noticed a Toshiba computer Windows 8 is the same thing.  What is a Windows problem or a hardware problem.  Anyway, what is the solution?

Ask Samsung?   Sounds like a BIOS option.   Otherwise use the Fn key as needed.

    I have the Satellite A350-13. I installed Windows 7 for 2 weeks.

The function keys does not work although I have installed the Toshiba value added package, which is responsible for the activation of the function keys.

What the solution to this problem?

    > Function keys does not work although I have installed the toshiba value added package, which is responsible for the activation of the function keys

Next to the VAP (value added package) you need to install the Flash Utility card support!
Card Flash utility support controls the keys FN and not the VAP! But VAP is also needed.
