Disable the DHCP server on the LAN

Hello

I'm working on my first range SRP500 router, I used the 800 series since a certain time for installation on these devices seems a bit basic compared the SRP500 have some very attractive features.

I seem to be faced with a need to 'simple', I want to disable the DHCP server on the VLAN by default, I already have a DHCP server on the network and wish to continue using it.

Unfortunately it is not an X to delete this profile, how to remove or disable at least.

Thank you very much

Gary

Hi Gary

In order to disable DHCP, you must log on as an administrator and then go to-> installation interface-> LAN-> VIRTUAL local network settings

Click the pencil beside the name VLAN to change.

Now select the address Type "Static IP address"

Assign an IP address and the default gateway, subnet mask is not necessary that your router will be the one to share Internet access.

Please try this and let us know if it worked for you.

    Hello

You want to disable the LAN or modem?
These two devices are not the same!

Anyway. If you don't find any option to disable the modem in BIOS it s is not possible!
You may disable these devices in Device Manager in windows operating systems.

  • Cisco 527W - how to disable the LAN interfaces

    Hi all

Just want to know if there is a way to disable these routers of Cisco 527W LAN interfaces. Looking through the configuration interface, it does not seem an option for this.

Also I have problems to connect to the router via SSH or Telent. When I put the password it says "access denied." But the password works for the web interface...

    Thank you...

In my experience, no way at the moment.

How to disable the automatic connection on my local network?

    Hello Paulpadlak,

Are you not wanting your computer to automatically connect to the internet via your local network connection?
I don't think there is a way to disable this feature without disabling the NIC completely until you need to use it.
You can disable your network adapter in Device Manager:

Hi, I bought a router SRP547W and I would like to disable DHCP server.

On the Control Panel, I see nothing about disabling this function. I don't need a dhcp server on the router and I do not need dhcp relay.

    Hello

To disable the DHCP server, jusr change the type of address for your interface VLAN dynamic or - more - static.  You can define manally of the local IP address from there.

  • RVL200 error message: DHCP IP address range into conflict with the LAN IP address

I have a RVL200 (firmware v1.0.12).  I use it mainly as a firewall, but also taking advantage of the DHCP server on this subject - at least I thought I was!

When I configured the RVL initially (several years ago), I have it has assigned an address 192.168.0.128 LAN IP and enabled the DHCP server.  The DHCP address for the allocation range is 192.168.0.100-. 149.  I have not assigned a DNS server address (don't remember why not - maybe - because of the same issue, I'm now face).  Since then, whenever I have to appear a new PC on my LAN I put client PC using DHCP to get an IP address... but I need to manually specify the DNS server address (which is logical in the light of what I have described so far).

The question I have now is that I want to assign the DNS server address on the DHCP server on the tab Configuration RVL, so my client DHCP PCs will automatically resume the DNS server address.   But when I enter the address of the local DNS (192.168.0.1), the RVL gives me the error message listed above (conflict IP range).  I can't understand why...

The "strange thing" I see is the DHCP of the RVL / status tab - at the top of this tab it lists the DHCP server address is 192.168.0.1.  This is the address of my DNS server / domain controller.  And the IP address of the domain controller is assigned statically (if it matters).  So I do not know why the RVL shows the DHCP server or my DNS server / DC, rather than showing his own address de.128.  Or why I get this error message when I try to enter the address of the DNS server?  Just as an experiment, I also tried entering the other IP addresses, just to see what happens (all on the local subnet)... and they all return the same error message.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Adam

    1. the address LAN IP of the RVL shouldn't be in the DHCP address pool. I guess that causes the error message when you try to change the settings for the DHCP server.

    2. I would say that you Flash the latest firmware 1.1.7 on your router. Read the release notes.

  • HP Laserjet M606x: Disable the option 'Print' in the built-in Web server

I am testing a new HP Laserjet M606 device and to disable the option 'Print' which is displayed in the 'Information' tab in the built-in webserver (EWS). I have a firewall turned on, turned off wireless printing, FTP, AirPrint, Web Services, PPI and independent producers is also disabled. HP Jetdirect XML service is also disabled. I have crossed most of the EWS settings and configuration options in JetAdmin and did not find an option to turn this feature off.

The device will be located in a public place and will have a reserved/static IP address (DHCP reserved). We charge for services to the end-users of printing - having this option turned on means that users can print for free if they find the IP address of the printer - not an ideal situation.

Is it possible to disable this option permanently? The only other solution is to disable EWS entirely, if possible.

To be a little more specific in the built-in web server click the Security tab. Now scroll down until you find the section for embedded web server settings. I was watching who had enough current firmware in the machine there is a checkbox to enable or disable the option for printing on the information page.

  • How to disable the ICS service DHCP part

    Hello

I have ICS, and I need it from time to time

How can I disable the DHCP server part?

    Hi John,.

I want to tell you that you can get IE to use a different range. However, there is a configuration unsupported, not tested or proposed by Microsoft. It could cause problems of network on the host, so make a System Restore point before you do.

    Steps to follow:

    a. temporarily assign a static IP address to the network connection
want to share using an address that is not in the 192.168.0.x.

    b. turn on ICS on this network connection.

    c. manually change the IP address of the connection to the local network (home network)
to a different subnet, as 192.168.1.x.

    d. restoration of the IP address that is appropriate for the shared network connection.

This unsupported configuration will automatically deactivate the DHCP server that normally runs on the ICS host computer. You will need to assign static IP addresses for all ICS clients.

Hope that answers your query. You can write back to us for other queries/problems related to windows and we will be happy to help you further.

For the RADIUS, you need a definition of server-aaa:

Protocol AAA - NPS RADIUS server RADIUS

AAA-server RADIUS NPS (inside) host 10.10.18.12

    key *.

    authentication port 1812

    accounting-port 1813

and tell your tunnel-group for this server:

    General-attributes of VPN Tunnel-group

    Group-NPS LOCAL RADIUS authentication server

  • Can not get the comments DHCP server to allocate addresses on VMNet1 Host-only network

    Hi all

Hoping someone can help with this question, here's my virtual machine configuration basis up to now:

-Windows 2012 ADDS, DHCP, DNS server

    -Windows XP client

The two guests use the network to host only VMNet1 and DHCP is disabled through work stations.

The problem I have is that my Windows XP computer cannot get a 2012 server DHCP address and she comes back with the link-local address of 169.x.  If I configure my Windows XP machine with a static address on the same subnet as the two computers are able to communicate without problem, so I'm not sure where I'm wrong.  Wireshark shows the broadcast DHCPDiscover packet, but nothing is returned.

These adapters have certain limits they can treat broadcast packets?  Or am I really missing something here?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Did you check the configuration of your Windows Server 2012 DHCP server? The scope is active? The server is OK?

  • disable the VI in EXE server

    Hi all

Is there a way to disable way permanent Server VI in EXE? Currently I have an EXE generated using the application builder, and the in the ini I can set the server VI to TRUE and the assign the port number to listen on. This poses a security threat to large at my request that anyone using my app can activate the VI server and basically as the hack using the property/invoke nodes - assign values to controls or retrieve values of the indicator.

    Ritesh

This means that if you want something solid, use the appropriate tool. I am not convinced that you can get to a shared variable with VI server but if you've tried and done, change your system of protection.
