Disable the logon screen after being inactive.

Original title: connect

When I leave my computer for a few minutes, I have to log on to windows. Why is this happening?

Hi Darlene,

This problem can occur if the screen saver settings are set to display the logon screen when the computer is locked or is inactive.

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

a. right-click anywhere on your Windows 7 Desktop and select Customizefrom the context menu.

b. in the customizationwindow that opens, click on the screensavericon in the lower right corner.

c. in the screen saver settings, uncheck the box marked on the CV, the logon screen.

d. click apply and then click Ok.

Check out the link for more information.

  • How can I make the computer sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity on the logon screen?

Original title: How to sleep in the login screen?

How can I make the computer sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity on the logon screen? Currently, on the login screen, white screen, but the computer is still running. Sleeping would save a lot of energy because the computer is used most of the time.

    Hi Phil.Ganchev,

Using a laptop or a desktop computer?

The reason for this question is, if you have a plugged AC adapter you must set power accordingly as opposed to laptop settings battery operated.

I suggest you head over to the power settings and create your own power management.

    a. power by clicking on the Start button, open the Options click on the Control Panel, clicking system and security, and then clicking Power Options.

    (b) according to the plan you want to change, click on change plan settings.

    c. on the parameters of change in the plan page, choose "Put the computer to sleep" that you want to use when your computer is running on battery (if applicable) and when it is plugged.
(Change in 5 minutes for the batteries and sector)

  • Password changed after you disable the login screen

Then I disabled my login screen, today and now when I start my computer, it brings me to a page that said 'incorrect password' and then returns to the login screen. Then when I enter my password it does not work. It seems that my password has been changed somehow when I disabled the login screen. In the meantime I can use my fingerprint reader to log on, but if I were to ever lose a finger in the future I wouldn't be able to access my computer. So, how can I reset my password?

Curiously the admins cannot change her password without having to type the current password, but they can change the password of any other account without knowing the password.

    Not true - see here:

    1. click on the start planet.
    2. type the three letters cmd in the search box.
    3. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
    4. click on "run as Administrator".
    5. type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
    NET user "Zach" 123456
The command above will set the password of the account selected to 123456.
  • Microsoft Windows Vista Home Permium freezes to the logon screen or gets stuck

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Permium freezes to the logon screen or crashes on the black screen with Copyright Microsoft Corporation with the load with six green bars moving through bar. It will start in safe mode. I ran the auto repair (recommended) when starting after being forced to stop. After it says its full it restarts and remains stuck on the black screen with Copyright Microsoft Corporation with the load bar with six green bars that cross so I force disable it again.

I had no problem with this computer, he got in last seven. It was working fine yesterday and then the without wire came out, so I restarted the computer to find the connection again as I had done several times before. That's when it froze on the opening of session and password screen. Who started this cycle of freezing or stuck on the black screen with the loading bar permanently running.

    UPDATE:
Start safe mode then made the instructions on the clean boot. Not checked, all iteams he says and rebooted and it worked. So I went to the next step to select only half to refine the list. Restarted and when at the loading screen for a little over 30 sec - 1 min (which is more short than the time it took to work initially after the first stage of the boot with all unchecked), but it goes to a completely black screen that has not happened before. So now, a little lost, or do I have to keep trying to refine?

    Hi Greg,.

It will not harm the computer to run it in a boot environment.  Some programs do not work properly because they were probably responsible for their own services and rely on them to work.  You have disabled all non-Microsoft services, and things like printers and software can be difficult.

Click Start, then options type power and press ENTER.  Let us make sure that the system is not configured to sleep.  Go ahead and put the power plan to High Performance, then click on change Plan settings below.  There will be a framework for "put the computer to sleep".  The value than ever.

If it continues to turn black in clean boot mode, you may have a hardware problem.  One thing you could do if it's a desktop system and really need to use it now, it is the lid of the machine and aim a fan in the box.  This will help if it is overheating.

Please complete the steps to diagnose the problem with the boot when you have the chance.

    / usr/bin/defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.screensaver loginWindowModulePath '/System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/Computer Name.saver '.

    1. right click on my computer and select Properties.
2 - Click on the Advanced tab, and then click on the Start button and recovery settings.

  • Disable the touch screen for a laptop Windows 8?

I have a Dell XPS L702x infamous Ghost by clicking on issues where the touch screen randomly 'clicks' on arbitrary areas of the screen (mine seems to be in the lower right corner, often minimize all my open windows or opening calendar) and through the upgrade to Windows 8, it seems a former N-Trig driver who disappeared I would disable the touch screen. Now, I have no way to disable the touch screen, and while Google suggested release "Use your finger as input device" under the pen and touch, I don't even have this available to UN-click box on!

So: How can I disable the touch screen on my laptop or y at - it a program that can do for me? I am indifferent in fact using the touchscreen - I'm more concerned with the ability to functionally use my laptop without sporadic clicks on my screen.
    Thank you.

I had the same problem with XPS 17 my wife.    I needed to restore basic functionality so that disabling the touch screen was acceptable.     However, unlike samie (but like you) I didn't "Use your finger as input" option in the control panel.

I tried to disable the device N-Trig driver in Device Manager, but the pilot did not appear to have be properly installed (after the upgrade from win7)

I went on the N-Trig (http://www.n-trig.com/Content.aspx?Page=Downloads_Drivers) driver download site and download the new drivers for windows 8 (I have the feeling that they weren't here last week).

I then when options "Device Manager" on the "Hardware and Sound" page of the control panel.

In the Device Manager screen, I saw a node N-trig DuoSense digitizers with several below subnode (before dev driver install it there was only one).

I right mouse button on the element at the top, with a name that ends by "between the roots" and select "disable."

    This touch screen successfully disabled.

Pity to lose the touch screen, but my wife does not use it and I was in danger of my life, as it was.
