disable the resizing of Textarea in firefox - not the website owner

How can I stop Firefox resize Textarea? I'm not the owner of the site and deal with a lot of sites with these form so to modify the HTML code is not an option.

Is there a setting in everything: config or add-on to disable this for some/all Web sites?

See:

Add code to the userContent.css file.

Customization files (interface) userChrome.css and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

  • Firefox ESR 10.0.12 disables the flash plugin - updates to the latest version do not work?

    Suddenly - without the measures taken by me - FF ESR 10.0.12 refuses to accept Adobe Flash? (System Win 7 Ultimate 64)
    It started with a very boring bar, which cost me 2 hours to turn it off, which told me to update a plugin from Adobe Reader very old and unused. Then, he insisted, that the Foxit PDF reader plugin is not updated. Because I do not use it, I disabled too. Since I rarely use Flash, I just found out today, that youtube does more - FF insists, that my flash plugin is too old and there it turned off.
    It has cost me hours so far and this is _exactly_ the reason why I use the channel of the ESR.
    What I did:
    Have completely uninstalled Adobe Flash (using Windows). Used the normal Firefox update, which he would recommend (your flash drive has been disabled, please install...). Without success, it simply goes in a loop, always telling me that my flash player is too old.
    I also installed directly from Adobe (version Firefox!), in all cases, it reports version 11.5.502.104. The latest version of Adobe-, but it seems to be too old?

    I'm spitting angry now - this kind of disorder is the reason that I only use Mozilla's ESR versions. I don't want your troop of chaos to play with the installation of _my_. But obviously, you have found ways to do it.

    If this is not resolved (and no, I do _not_ reinstall Firefox, I'm not going to delete my profile) in a few days, Firefox is dead to me. I'm already with Chrome and Opera. Many friends have these browsers - I am a bit conservative and I want as my stable browser and look a feeling must also be stable. I do _not_ want a new version every two weeks, which costs each time that my effort and time to configure it as I want.

    The question is: How did you disable the latest version of Flash and why? Why do I now register here and investing valuable time to get my browser to work again? If I had done something, install or remove something, okay. But I did not. (And Yes, so far I have day Flash and other plugins, when I was invited to do)

    Clearly _your_ management works the _not_: if I use solutions which FF itself recommends, it sends me into an infinite loop: install newer Flash, sorry, Flash is obsolete, install latest Flash...

    Is this the new "security"? Bah. If you have done for the 'normal' user (which you obviously don't respect any more), you have not. And you have not completely for me: If software insists on doing things 'automatically', it should make them less reliable, it should ask _or_. But work in the shadows, change things, reports nothing and then failing is exactly the reason why I disable things to "automatic" and want to be _asked_ before some silly piece of c... deconfigures himself - and stops working...

    The following troubleshooting tips:
    At this time, Flash player is installed, presents in the list of systems as "Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin" software, Version 11.5.502.146. The others are my normal plugins. Several changes to about: config were made by me in order to do usable FF again, without harassing the bars 'info '...

    Found: in some sort plugin.scan.plid.all entry disappeared from my setup under "subject: config'." It simply no longer existed.

    After much research and cursing I found and reinstated, with the Boolean value 'true '. Now Flash Player is once again, and it seems to work. The horse is gone. Also, I was able to uninstall the old plugin Adobe Reader and FoxIt Reader plugin, which I haven't used for a long time (format PDF download always locally). It helped, because the annoying nag window went away, and I could reactivate other options that I had to disable, to get rid of a bar/window indicating the information known about a plugin that was disabled and not used anyway. (It started with 10.0.12 update, I think)

    Comment: It's unnecessary _completely_ for me (plugin was the last version of anyway, because he has a service life of update and updates without FF). It took me 2-3 hours of precious time.

    Could you please consider:
    (1) INFORM the user about the problems and not more stupid click me once windows with standard chat text. Even Microsoft, not known for their openness and user information, was able to inform me of updates of _what_ _avant_ I install them and _why_ I should install them.
    2) more information in the windows plugin/extension, so there is no chance of finding problems.
    (3) STOP the condescension and mothering the user, at least as an option, so we can choose it. Because if someday leave FF forever, it will be the main reason. I REFUSE to install automatically. I am _responsible_ to my computer. If someone or something moves for example illegal data on it, I can't use the excuse that this was done 'automatically '. I want to know how, when and WHY an update or something is installed. So please stop this patronizing.

  • Firefox not displaying only not the formatting of the page and do not play videos

    HI, I had this problem with Firefox for the past two days. It does not display the context and formatting of Web sites like Reddit, Mozilla and sometimes YouTube. He said several times that Web sites like youtube have an untrusted connection, and shockwave flash crashes. I tried to uninstall, clean and reinstall Firefox, I tried to fix it too... I have updated java, Flash and shockwave. Did a full scan of my computer with my Antivirus and Malwarebytes.

    None of these problems are on Chrome or Edge.

  • Video playback stopped working in Firefox until I DISABLED the plugin of primetime content decryption module

    From one day to the next video (youtube, Vimeo, etc) stopped not working in Firefox. I checked my plugins/addons and discovered the plugin Adobe "primetime content decryption module" which I had not noticed previously had been installed. I've disabled the plugin and found that the video playback was still functional.

    I realize the Primetime plugin is intended to facilitate playback of certain content (DRM), which would not otherwise play with Silverlight/Flash plugins, but unless that I turn it off it's actually prevents me from normal video content playback.

    As this is a Firefox/Adobe plugin suggested I prefer it to work as expected rather than disable/remove it.

    A quick update to my problem noted above (maybe I should try this first)

    I ACTIVATED the plugin once more see if it would cause video playback yet, but everything seems to be ok now (IE, Primetime plugin is activated and all videos play normally)

  • Is there a way to globally disable the cache of Firefox?

    I run a computer lab with several linux PC (Ubuntu LTS 14.04 / latest version of Firefox). The users homedirectories are located on a file server central and limited by a diskquota. Unfortunately, Firefox takes an important part (if not all) of this quota with its cache. Is there a way to globally disable the cache?

    Hi TrevorTubbs, you can disable the zoom in the browser with the method described in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences & locking these preferences:

    lockPref("toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues"; "1");
    lockPref("zoom.maxPercent"; 100);
    lockPref("zoom.minPercent"; 100);

    I'm not sure if disabling the context menu...

    Hello djpianalto, you could delete the default settings for firefox on android in the control panel (as described in this external article).

  • Firefox not rendering or display the graphics properly, tried everything?

    Firefox not rendering or display the graphics properly.
    When a page loads first, fine, but if you click on a few buttons, then the back button to return to the page of the image is cut in half, or lack of parts of it, on the page what happens, if I delete the page history and refresh, all goes well, once again, I also worked on a web page that does the same thing on the server or locally, I haven't tried any cache, refresh on the page load, ran Firefox in safe mode, my friend has Firefox also and he got the same results, Internet explore, no problem, no problem of Chrome, I need to solve this problem with Web page, I'm working on the side of the code so that everyone doesn't have this problem.

    Try disabling OMTC and leave hardware acceleration in active Firefox.

    You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

    You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

    You can check if there is an update for your display driver graphic card and search for hardware acceleration of related issues.

    It is a problem with the plugin "Pinterest pine he touch Images" for WordPress. It wraps the image in a < span > element that has the style to display the value 'inline-block '. This causes Firefox to do a wrong calculation of the available width and simply show the enlarged image all the time.

    If you like this plugin and could not find a good alternative, modify the following style sheet:

    http://www.craftingconnections.NET/the-blog/wp-content/plugins/Pinterest-pin-it-button-for-images/ppibfi_pinterest.CSS

    Line 65:

    	display: inline-block;

    VOX

    	display: block;

    Test on Windows 7, it works by running Firefox and Chrome, but I did not test IE.

  • disable the firefox updates

    It becomes quite annoying that Firefox should update and change the layout of the browser so frequently. I like that Firefox is the addition of new features, but not if big I have to keep relearning to use the same program. Because there is no option to keep my browser looking for the same thing, I would like to know how to disable the updates.
    As much as I fear, Firefox is not actually address any major security concern (sorry, ' different security patches is not quite cut it for me, Firefox still does not support sandbox like Chrome or IE 9), so there is really no necessary for me to learn how to use my new browser every two weeks.

    If there is no way to stop the updates or keep my browser looking for the same thing, I'm going to switch to Chrome. I thought I'd ask first however.

    There was a previous way by going through the Options menu, but after this, when you go to help > on Firefox, it would update regardless of this setting.

    You can set these prefs in about:config to turn off the automatic update:

    App.Update.auto - false

  • I don't want Firefox 7 is installed. How can I disable the update?

    I am a student at Highline Community College here in Washington. The online tool that I have if interface with school classes is called Angel. Emails on Angel does not work with Firefox 7. The it Department is currently working on a fix, but until they get that do I need to know how to disable the automatic update, which wants to install version 7. I'm going to upgrade to the latest version when the fix is complete.

    Click the Firefox button > Options > Options > advanced > update (Tools > Options > advanced > update if you are using the Menu bar):

    • Uncheck "Firefox" at the top of the Panel
    • You can also check "Ask Me what I want to do."
    • out of Firefox (Firefox button > exit OR file > exit if you are using the Menu bar), wait a few seconds (10-30), and then restart Firefox. Verify that the options are as you set them.
    • See-> Options window-Advanced Panel

    You can change these options later.

    You can still receive the update of the view screen, but automatic updates/downloads should stop.

  • How to disable the right click option resize on the table column header?

    Hi all

    Please let us know how to disable the right click option resize on the table column header.

    The problem is that when I right click on the header of the column, the column is selected and the context menu with options like type, resize columns, columns, etc... is popping. We want to disable the option of re-size column.

    We create a link by program the values in the table (do not use Bc4J) and the version of Jdeveloper's 11.1.2.2

    Thanks in advance,

    -Vignesh S.

    So who did not observe here is that the table is wrapped in a panelCollection and who is in fact source menu.  However, the content of the context menu can be controlled through the featuresOff of the panelCollection component attribute
