Disabled Options of Outlook 2007 indexing and advanced search options

Im running Windows 7 RC1 Ultimate x 64 and I recently started having a problem with Outlook 2007. Somehow all advanced search options (hit the double arrow to the right of the Inbox "search" field to specify, body, subject, etc.) are disabled - that is grayed out and I can't use them. If I go to the search options in Outlook all under the category indexing and search is also disabled. Finally, I noticed that if I go into Windows Indexing Options > change, under the heading change of the chosen places 'Microsoft Office Outlook' is grayed out as and when I go over it the ToolTip says "indexing of Outlook emails like summer disabled by the system administrator.

I confirmed this isn't something set via Group Policy, because I have several other similar PC which presents all works very well on. The only thing I can think is vaguely remembered changing some indexing options a bit back to allegedly to increase performance, but I don't remember what that or if I did before or after loading Win7.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

In case someone else falls on this same question, I found the answer on the newsgroups Outlook here .

Just need to change some registry settings to get this working again.
HKLM/Software/policies / Microsoft/Windows/Windows search
PreventIndexingOutlook value 1

HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows Search
SetupCompletedSuccessfully to 0

Reboot and everything is fine!

    Hello

Sorry, but this is a limitation of CHM. Unfortunately I don't remember if it came with version 10, but if if you could use the WebHelp for the CHM converter script to package inside a CHM WebHelp output. If you do, then you would have what you want where a simple click would open things.

  • Is it possible when we open Adobe Acrobat DC, so it is automatically opens the search window. Namely, open two windows: Adobe Acrobat and advanced search.

I WOULD LIKE WHEN I OPEN ADOBE ACROBAT CC, ALSO IT IS AUTOMATICALLY OPEN THE WINDOW ADVANCED SEARCH. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

(Please do not write in capital letters in the future)

For this, you can use a script, you will need to place it under Tools - JavaScripts - Document JavaScripts.

Enter this code in the window that opens:

    app.execMenuItem ("FindSearch");

Then save the file, and the next time that you open the advanced search window should appear automatically.

  • "Enter network password" popup will not stop appearing, how to stop this? Outlook 2007 audit has aol.

OK, I know that this question was asked before here and other places, but I tried a lot of things and still cannot get him to stop.

I use Outlook 2007 to access my aol e-mail account. Until recently it has been works well with none or very few problems. All of a sudden this week, the window 'Enter network password' guard chronically arise with all fields filled already, but you will need to click ok to remove. This happens once in a blue moon in the past, maybe once every 3 weeks to a month and then happen not for awhile. But from this week, it occurs once every 5 minutes about an hour every day. (Has happened twice since I started typing this so far.) This is incredibly annoying doesn't even begin to describe. For more far to annoy me, I have a rule to configure in Outlook where some emails get sent to my work address while I'm not home and when this box appears here at home while I'm at work, nothing doesn't get passed, nothing happens anywhere because I'm not here to click ok in the darn box!
OK, to cut to the Chase, I have Windows XP with Outlook 2007 here, and I checked my aol email. All parameters have been controlled and tested and is exactly the same as when it was working fine. Other things that can help to know, I have McAfee Antivirus on the computer and the router wireless Belkin F5D8235-4 low. I had McAfee antivirus for many years without any problems and I got the router hooked ever since November 2009 with no problems until now that is.
Here is what I tried so far, all have not helped at all: (I thought that I would tell you which has been tried and didn't work, so we don't waste time on them).
1 has created a new Outlook profile. Did not stop the pop ups.
2 Ran Outlook in safe mode for non-Microsoft services would not be executed. Did not stop the pop ups.
    3. saved registry and the information of the user account deleted from the options of password subkey, and then reinstated "Protected Storage System Provider. Did not stop the pop ups.
    4. disabled in McAfee messaging protection. Did not stop the pop ups. (Just got a new one! Ugh.)
5 Rebooted/Restarted router. Did not stop the pop ups.
I'm currently at the "I got Nothin'" point about what should be judged then.
Anyone has any idea what this might be outside what I already tried?
I am altogether strung here and it drives me crazy. Anyone have any ideas?
    Jim.

    Update for me.
Because I changed my e-mail verification of the intervals of 5-10 minutes, there was a considerable improvement in this issue. For a while it has virtually disappeared, it was like the good old days when it happened almost never.
A few week days last the problem returned with a vengeance, as bad as when it reached its maximum when I started this thread. But I went on google and found a lot of internet chatter, suggesting that it seems to be a question of aol - across the network to an end, given that many people in the country had the same problems. So, it looks that I have would have been doing the pop-ups regardless.
It seems that to subject the week last, aol themselves have had major problems to their e-mail systems based on internet comments there from other customers, so by doing this problem much more difficult to solve since now you know exactly what is the first cause pop-ups until aol gets their end of it solved. I can certainly tell you that raise the time intervals to send/receive 5 to 10 minutes doesn't seem to go very far to solve problems with pop-ups. Even though I'm still trying, here and there, I think that those that I received lately have been due to problems at AOL more so than mine, based on reviews other aol users. I hope that I may be at the end of the tunnel on this subject but thanks to what is happening to their end (aol), I can't say for sure yet. I'll keep you posted.

  • Cedar J108i, PC Companion, Outlook 2007

I used PC Companion to copy my Outlook 2007 contacts and the calendar for a Sony Ericsson Cedar J108i (replacement of existing items) for a few years with no problems.

I have not copied elements to the phone since around August of this year. Today, I tried and calendar items copy OK, but a number of contacts fails to copy. In the report, I get a list of contacts failed with unknown error. For each attempt, the number of contacts failed changes each time with the same unknown error.

I suspect a software update since August posed a problem. Any ideas?

I can restore the PC Companion software to an earlier version?

Master Reset > Reset All on the phone, fixed the problem.

  • Slow mouse in Ms Outlook 2007

    Hello

I use a T61 (3 GB of RAM) has recently upgraded to Vista.

After you install Service Pack 1 for vista, I noticed that my mouse works with the significant delay in outlook 2007. If using keyboard shortcuts or arrow keys on the keyboard, items are selected and opened almost instantly, but if I use my mouse, there is no time lag - a delay in time for the item to select a delay time and the item to open.

This happens only in Outlook 2007, the mouse with the aps office operation and windows work as it should - very well!

I installed all the updates for Vista and also all the updates for MS Office - but the problem with the operation of the mouse in Outlook 2007.

The search through the forums I saw that there was a patch for this problem, but for the Windows 7 operating system.

    Any ideas?

    Hello...

I was running outlook 2007 in administrator mode, all this time. Today, I had to install this application called MS Communicator 2007 R2, there was an update for it online, and when I rebooted the system... TADA, without having to run MS office in administrator mode!

What is the solution and how did get resolved? Beats me...

  • Is there a solution for outlook 2007 - not finishes indexing - from Microsoft?

Is there a solution for outlook 2007 not finished indexing of Microsoft?

    Hello Emlyn John Powell, welcome.

This could be caused by a number of things. I recommend to try this first:

    1. open Outlook
    2. go in (top) tools > Options > Search Options
    3. uncheck the box next to your mailbox name
    4. click 'OK', then 'apply '.
    5. close Outlook completely (restart the computer if you must)
    6. open Outlook and see what happens

    7. then go to tools > Options > menu of Search Options and re - activate Indexing
    8. click 'OK', then 'Apply', and then restart your computer

    Let us know what happens

  • VMware View and Outlook 2007 advice please

    Hello

We lack of Vmware view, a single master with ~ 20 linked clones. I have two questions by email:

Microsoft recommends that Outlook 2007 is running in cached mode, but is there an advantage to running customer reviews in cached mode? In my experience, the client goes into maintenance mode when the user disconnects, and seems to be regenerated each time.

I would like to change the default Outlook settings (address book, options, etc) but I don't see how to do on the 'master' for all users - is possible to do?

    Thank you very much

    A

You mention that you use linked clones. Given that, my opinion is that you absolutely don't want to use mode cached for the following reasons:

    1. the cached copy of the mailbox of the user will be (probably significantly) increase the size of the system disks in your virtual machine and your drive of the user's data (if you use them). This isn't a good use of the disc in my opinion and you be essentially double your Exchange storage needs.

    2. cached mode is a great strategy for WAN needs or for overcrowded overexploited mailbox servers. If your script does not match one of these then most likely, you can't all the performance improvements implemented cache mode can provide. Most likely your virtual office computer is sitting on the same DC/LAN, and you have several gigabit connectivity for your ESX servers.

    3. again, depending on how you manage your drive/user data user profiles you can be place your copy cached on the system disk. If so, this will make powerful capabilities such as Refresh and recompose less useful whenever you make a recreation of the copy cached in the mailbox.

    4. If you use a redirection of folder/roaming profile with cached mode, you do not want to be put the cached copy of the mailbox on a network share that predisposes so you in the solution of disk for user data. I prefer a real profile with approach of redirection of roaming folder for various reasons, most of them associated with management.

    5. the question of the interview you mentioned, which is related to the updated copy cached is not closed to the shutdown/logoff. Do away with the cached mode will fix this but also make sure you have Service Pack 2 for Office 2007 is installed. There are significant fixed Outlook and improvements in performance in there.

6 cached mode can create problems with different search engines that seem to be fashionable these days. All of them want to index the updated copy cached and that they support each other or play nice, it has a negative impact on the performance of Outlook. They can also contribute to #5 above.

There are others, but that's what I have on the top of my head right now.

  • How can I import from Outlook 2007 when the option is grayed out?

I'm moving from Outlook 2007 to Thunderbird. All is well until now, but I need to import my old mails from Outlook. When I go to tools > import > Mail I get options for Eudora, Outlook, and Outlook Express. Eudora and Outlook options are grayed out. The option for Outlook Express is available, but who isn't even an option for me, since I am on Windows 7.

I've read a few articles, and they point out that you must always have Outlook installed and configured as the default e-mail client. I made sure Outlook is set as the default mail client, but the import option is still grayed out. I tried restarting both Outlook and Thunderbird. I also tried the import with Outlook open and closed.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You must Version31 or an earlier version. Something happened along the way with exit 38 and transformed into an accident. It is therefore turned off until it gets.

Which language version would you need?

  • Help with timezone and error of memory in Outlook 2007

Hello, I tried to solve a problem on the computer of the employee which I believe is coming from Outlook.

I have just put up with this "new" computer (adopted by an employee of the precedent). I reinstalled Windows XP, reformatting the HD, installed all the drivers and software. There was no problem with the computer until he started to use it, the first day, I think was good, but over two days the computer began to freeze periodically - so that you cannot move the mouse or to do something but hold the power button to turn off the PC. And the problem is becoming more and more common, and time passes.

It gets an error in Outlook 2007, something about a time zone adjustment and now it will update all appointments in the calendar, and it is always immediately followed by an "out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again. "error message - so I think the synchronization schedule, he's trying to do doesn't work. It seems that it is after the error, is it some time later, the computer crashes.

This morning the problem is also common as 20 minutes between needs to reboot the machine. I have him out of this computer now so that I can help out. By some suggestions on other forums, I removed Office 2007, deleted her outlook profile, reinstalled Office 2007 and created a new Outlook profile for his email. I have worked since his computer for the last two hours now to try to reproduce the problem - it took about an hour, but then it happened again.

If the problem is related to Outlook, as I suspect then it must use all the resources somewhere, or the calendar/time zone synchronization problem using all resources. This first hour when the machine did not plant was when Outlook has been download still all his e-mail from the Exchange Server, almost as soon as the full download of the error appeared. I noticed something like 1 000 + items in one of its RSS feeds, so I disabled them for now, but I got the time zone / error of memory still. The OST file is about 1 GB in size.

He has not collapsed again immediately, but I suspect it's just a matter of time as before. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very happy, here are a few other statistics relating to the computer:

    Windows XP Professional SP3

    Processor Intel Dual @1.6 GHz

    2 GB of Ram

70 GB of free disk space

  • Printing Adobe Reader and Outlook 2007 causes of programs close

I feel several .pdf documents and all of a sudden I started having an error that Adobe Reader should close every time I tried to print.  I am also having the same problem with Outlook 2007.  If I try to print anything, you must restart Outlook.

Finally, Word will not open.  These three points result in the same error message: XXX has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  I have to restart, but have the ability to send error report or not.  With Word, I get a popup that Word failed to start correctly last time.  I then have the option to start in safe mode or not.

    I have XP Professional.

Thank you for your answer, but I actually figured it out by myself very shortly after I posted the question.  After two days of Google search and frustration, all we needed was update/reinstall the printer.

    Help. It makes me crazy!

    No probs.

Though even this is not for your laptop, it has fast storage to Intel for chipset driver, it uses (ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller) you can see under the required System Configuration

    Here

    This is for XP 32/64 and Vista 32 / 64-bit. And Win7 32/64 bit

It is version 10.1.2.1004. It may not be the latest version out at the mo. But his more later than the version installed

You can either double-click SP52144, then follow what it says on the screen, then restart. Then see if WU works

Or an extract SP51244 with something like 7-zip / winrar (select Extract to SP52144\). So, it extracts the files in folders.

Then go to the entry SATA in DM. Go to the driver tab / driver update / browse computer / let me choose.

Point to the folder that you extracted. Then the folder the folder drivers then the x 86. Since you are using 32-bit. And then click OK. It may show ICH8M-E/M (if it captures previous drivers / or if there is already an entry of controller for ICH8M-E/M). If you press ok / then following to load the drivers for it. Once he finished update the SATA drivers, restart

    Then see if windowsupdates works

Looks like you need to .net framework 3.5 (or higher) for this. Don't think that you need this if you check out the file, and then add through the DM tho. If you double click on the file
