DISBALE Welcome/sign in screen

I have a screensaver running on my Windows 7 computer when it is not in use.  When I press on enter (or move the mouse) to start using the computer, it automatically goes to a screen with my computer name and a password to sign in.  How can I disable this screen so that when I press on enter or move the mouse to the screen saver, the screen will just go directly on my desk (without going through this temporary sign on screen)?  Thanks in advance for the help.

Looks like you have set the "on resume" screen saver password - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/windows-password-for-screensaver-password#1TC=windows-7

try to uncheck it.

  • When I try to access the Recovery Console, "Welcome to Setup" screen does not appear and it asks me to install on a partition... Help

My office has the continuous loop reboot of Windows XP SP3 ("UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" STOP 0x000000ED - 0x8A8EB7B8). When I put my Windows XP Pro installation CD to access the recovery console to make the steps required to solve the problem. Instead a screen comes up that says, "the following list shows the existing partitions and space unpartitioned on this computer." Then, he gives me the ability to press ENTER to install Windows XP, press C to create a partition, or D to delete a partition.

Why can't I to the Recovery Console to fix the reboot loop?
Most importantly, I lost some data on my hard drive? If it won't let me even get to the RC?

If anyone else has this problem follow these steps:

    2. press on 'R' to use your Recovery Console to repair the installation
    3. Type "chkdsk/r" and press "enter." CHKDSK will analyze and repair your hard disk. Type "Exit" once this process is complete.

Unless it is an exact replacement for an older MB, you must download and install all the drivers of Windows XP available for her, beginning by the chipset drivers. If you are unsure how to do this, view the make and model (including revision number; it is usually screen printing on the MB if is not in your documentation), and we will try to help you.

Its possible that it is a driver problem with the Smartcard Reader of ACC HP or there is a problem of authentication on Windows Server.

  • Win 7 will not display sign in screen

HP touchsmart 7320 yesterday was fine, today it crashes just before the signature area (the sign in never loads) I tried to restart with the power button / stop.  Tried safe mode and last know boot, but the results are the same.  The system hangs at the screen of Windows 7 Professional less a connection box.  I suspect that an update from one day to the next is the culprit.  First time I noticed I left alone for 10 minutes about while I got a cup of coffee.

    Hi Mike,.

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to consult the below thread and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

Screen flickering and problems log on Windows 7 after installation of updates

If the problem persists, I suggest that you want to run auto repair with installation media and see if it helps you repair system files or not. For the execution of the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

Method 1: When you use the recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot startup issues, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.

Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair, and if this does not help then you try to restore your computer to the previous date.

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.

Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)

Method 2: If the problem persists, try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool. To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows recovery environment (Windows RE) . To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
    2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
    3. Click repair your computer.
    4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
    6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

See the following link for more information:

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927392

Method 3: If after performing the above steps, you are able to start the computer and access the desktop then try to Uninstall KB3097877 update if it is installed, and then reinstall it.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

  • Welcome User icon screen help

When I start my windows vista Home premium and get to the logon screen, even if I only have a single user account, the user/avatar icon is small, the same size such that it would be if there were two accounts available to choose. I have to click on the first icon until I can put my password in. Is there a way I can set it up so that the image of the icon will be already selected and all I have to do is enter the password? Thank you.

  • Windows 8 will not start to sign in screen

    Hi all

I'm sorry if this problem has been posted, but I read a lot of discussions that do not apply to my question. I can't get into safe mode. I can't access the operating system. I can't do anything. It shows the Packard Bell logo and spinning loading animation and then nothing. Black screen.

Can someone tell me please how to fix this? As said I can't in safemode, bios or anything. I tried to boot from the drive with an ISO image of a registry Fixer to this topic. Nothing.

    Please please help.

The most modern machines do not use the old Chargers to start which allowed you to enter safe mode F8 during the startup mode.  If you can't reach the Windows login screen, you can get into safe mode by restarting while clicking the option to reboot, but it does not help if you can't get there.

Given that, most of the manufacturers have prepared with their own solutions. My computer Vaio from Sony has a button of special pinhole that I had to press with a paper clip to enter into recovery mode.  Other manufacturers have other options, some require a USB thumbdrive to enter recovery, or a CD.

At this point, you probably want to contact Asus to know which recovery method they use.  I hate to bring bad news, but they'll probably say "why did not a recovery USB disk? (as if someone creates their own set of disks of repair when they receive a new computer).

Help a friend with a Dell laptop (did not have a problem, but wanted a clean install anyway), Dell sent us a free night FedEx ship from a restore CD. ASUS could be so kind. I know that Sony was not. If the recovery of my Vaio button didn't work, they wanted $60 for a CD!

Anyway, the manufacturer is your best bet, that now, if you don't have a USB self made for recovery.
