  Hello, I installed a Windows 2008 (replacement of a Server 2003) domain server with 5 customers Pro XP. There is a login script that is managed by the workstations when they login to map network drives.  Who is pulled from the server.  On the workstations, when they connect, in my computer, it shows the actions, but they still have the name of the old Server 2003, that is to say the Scans on Windows 2003.   Yes, I solved the problem (at least I think).  After that reading more about disconnecting network drives, I followed a suggestion to double-click on the drive, and it is connected.

  I use firefox on android as "customer" for a home automation system main interface. The home automation system based on user/admin gui web that I allowed to 'install' as a hosted web application, and both the gui and the manifest.app a little embarked on a linux embedded custom I use to serve web pages.

  Woody, I was able to replicate that XP is not a bug but a feature. On my laptop, it originally had vista on the c drive and a recovery on the d drive partion. There are about 1 1/2 years I have upgraded Vista to XP. Then recently updated to Windows 7. kept the 3 OS's so I got triple starting capability. Then at home, I added 3 network shares, while I was using a lot of drive letters. When actions are undone, Windows maps a USB key which has not been connected before system one of the disconnected but readers still show in Explorer, the name of the drive on the part of disconnected. However, if the USB is connected to the system before, Windows appears to map a drive letter that he remembered from before.

  In my case, Windows 7 has been installed recently, so there is no remebered for my USB drive letter. I was away from home, so I had a lot of disconnected shares. In addition, now that I got a 3rd OS added to the system, I used a lot of letters from the GET go by car. It's much more likely that I would meet this feature after installing Windows 7.

  I have a brand new Dell PowerEdge R810 and I try to install VMWare ESXi 4.1 VSphere to see if it works well with the system.
  
  However, I can't reach this server from any other machine. VMWare has been successfully installed, but in the configuration of the network, 4 network adapters appear as "DISCONNECTED." I tried to connect in Network Manager, but I'm not sure what exactly to do wuite I need to activate.

  If network cards are connected and managed switch, connect to the management interface and check the status of the port.

  If it is not a managed switch try unplugging the cable/plug in that hide them / change the cables.

  I own a Toshiba Equium M50 and have problems with the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller.

  I used to connect through a Modem/DSL switch "ADDON" and had no problems. I then replaced the ADDON with an ADSL Modem/Router "NETGEAR" DG834G to win the wireless port, and since that time my machine won't recognise the LAN port. .

  I know that cables are OK I used with other phones and had no problems. I can also plug a PCI card to connect without any problems. It seems to me that if the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller has a problem with the netgear Modem/Router.

  Anyone out there with a similar experience and some tips/suggestions?

  For me this doesn't show t as a problem of LAN card but your router is a problem.
  Check Device Manager if the network card is correctly recognized. If there is no yellow exclamation point, so all is ok!
  You can try to remove the network adapter from Device Manager and reboot after new install driver LAN again.

  The question has looked after installing or connecting the new Netgear modem router.
  I would recommend to check first the settings or update the firmware on this router.

• ESXi test with disconnected network run?

  I practice the migration of my current server VMware ESXi 5 2 environment.  Everything seems smooth with the conversion to the test area that will hold everything until the new server is in place.  I wish I could on ESXi machines just to make sure I can document the traps and understand the fixes before doing it for real in fact.

  Here are two options.

  First option

  Right click on virtual machine---> edit configuration---> network adapter---> uncheck the box to connect to the power on option.

  Second Option:

  Create virtua vswitch on ESXi host without adding any nic vSwitch. Create machine virtual portgroup in this vswtich. Add this port group to this machine of virtua.

  Both this option will be the machine of course that is not network.

• Local network connection / network cable disconnected

  I had an internet connection on my desktop and now I don't have. I have two other desktop computers that work without any problem and are connected correctly. All the workstations are connected with a Belkin Wireless G Router (F5D7230-4) by ethernet Cat 5 cables. When I go into network connections it says, the connection to the LAN is activated / network cable Unplugged, protected by a firewall. Device Status - This device is working properly. Network card: Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC. The cable is connected, the lights are on on the port to connect to the back of the PC, the light is on and solid (not flashing) on the router where the cable is attached. I can take this cable and plug it into another PC and it works perfectly, but when I take an other cables and put the PC problem - nothing!

  I ran Malware, Ad-Aware, washing windows and AVG anti-virus 9 with no detection.

  The first problem is with the network card in my laptop. It seems to work OK in windows (it looks fine in Device Manager, I can change settings etc) but it doesn't recognize any cable. I must say that I have enough experience on the networks. I tested the two straight through and crossing of the cables that work in other systems. I connected to a switch with a straight through cable, but don't see the network card. No. led flashes on the card (before he did)... nothing. It says "disconnected network cable" on the status bar. If I use a usb instead, with the same parameters and cable network card, everything is I checked the card using a cd live linux.
