Disconnected network drive

Hello, I installed a Windows 2008 (replacement of a Server 2003) domain server with 5 customers Pro XP. There is a login script that is managed by the workstations when they login to map network drives.  Who is pulled from the server.  On the workstations, when they connect, in my computer, it shows the actions, but they still have the name of the old Server 2003, that is to say the Scans on Windows 2003. I removed the actions of the workstation and restarted. Now, the disks are delivered by saying drive disconnected network (letter): on each of them.  I can click on the drive and it opens upward, but the name never changes. Some people have suggested to turn off saving to the card mode NETWORK has done this. Some have suggested to make you that netlogin is set for automotive services, done. A one of the machines, I've removed the NETWORK card and let windows re - install. That solve the problem of this machine.  Others, however, are always challenging.  At present, the firewall is disabled. No installed antivirus for the time. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

  • Sync up indicates disconnected network drive

When I start my computer I get a message in sync "of the disconnected network drive."  What can I do to connect by car?  I ran the software for viruses and malware.

    Thank you for your response.

Yes, I solved the problem (at least I think).  After that reading more about disconnecting network drives, I followed a suggestion to double-click on the drive, and it is connected.

If I find that this has not solved the problem, I intend to follow your suggestions.  Thank you.

  • Windows 7 x 64 upgrd dv6500z disconnected network drives allow usb drive mapping to the same drive letter

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the readers of network disconnected allowing for new drive usb to their drive letter mappings. I have my laptop dv6500z home with windows 7 Home premium connected to my router wirelessly with a couple of shares of x 64. Now I turned off, trip and start. All right, the drive letters show as disconnected as they should. Now I plug in a USB key and it corresponds to the drive letter of one of the disconnected actions and not a new, unassigned drive letter. In Explorer, there will still be disconnected action description. Click on it and it accesses all my files on the USB key. In admin tools/disk management, the correct label for the USB key is displayed.

So is it a problem of HP or just a problem of Microsoft with Windows 7?

Woody, I was able to replicate that XP is not a bug but a feature. On my laptop, it originally had vista on the c drive and a recovery on the d drive partion. There are about 1 1/2 years I have upgraded Vista to XP. Then recently updated to Windows 7. kept the 3 OS's so I got triple starting capability. Then at home, I added 3 network shares, while I was using a lot of drive letters. When actions are undone, Windows maps a USB key which has not been connected before system one of the disconnected but readers still show in Explorer, the name of the drive on the part of disconnected. However, if the USB is connected to the system before, Windows appears to map a drive letter that he remembered from before.

In my case, Windows 7 has been installed recently, so there is no remebered for my USB drive letter. I was away from home, so I had a lot of disconnected shares. In addition, now that I got a 3rd OS added to the system, I used a lot of letters from the GET go by car. It's much more likely that I would meet this feature after installing Windows 7.

  • System froze for a minute while searching for a missing network drive

When, for example, browse the files in the Windows Explorer home & network is disconnected, the system tends to freeze for half a minute, as it is waiting for the sharing network address. No processes are active in the Manager of tasks (idling only), but the computer is devoid. This happens on any PC, computers cell phones not only. Does anyone know how to get rid of this behavior, or at least to shorten the waiting period?
There is a solution to disconnect network drives, but I would like to find something more simple.

    Hello

Looks like you have mapped some network drives to your operating system.
I think if you're looking for files or something like that OS trying to get permission to search or enter the network drives.
But if the network is disconnected from the operating system takes several times to see that.

I put t know if there is a solution for these issues. But try to google for more details. Maybe you about success. Please report if you find useful information

    Good luck

  • Why my network drives mapped reconnect when disconnected from my laptop?

Whenever I have withdraw my machine it fails to reconnect to a network drive while you are using the wireless. It's quite strange, because if I anchor again it not is not even reconnect on LAN.

    Hi gabrielcervatiuc,

Connected and disconnected are two different hardware configurations.

Therefore, you use control different sets in the registry. You must configure the network drives in two configurations.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • network drive connection

I try to get LabView to connect to a network with a Username and a password to designated drive to save the data, then disconnect after the data are written.

I can't have windows automatically connect because it is a 'public' test computer, one that has a name of log shared for several technicians.  I make sure the netdrive maintains individual logon for traceability.

I've seen a few posts for the use of the tiara, which I do not have or need.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

You can map the network drive using "net use". This is possible via the system exec command.

    'net.
use"you can specify a drive letter and the user credentials to use. Use of the "/ persistent: no ' flag not to register the connection.

You can also disconnect a network drive by using the same command (flag "/ delete").

    Hope this helps

  • OfficeJet Pro L7580 appears as a network drive in Win7

I have a new Dell with Win7 64-bit desktop computer.  I installed the printer with last full 64 bit HP software program downloaded from the HP website.  My all-in-one L7580 load on my network as a hard drive.  When I click the link it reports: "LOCATION is NOT AVAILABLE.  Z:\ is not accessible.  An unexpected network error has occurred. "When I right click on the link and select 'Properties', it displays the properties of a typical hard drive and not the properties of a printer.  When I right click on the link and select "Disconnect", it switches off this "Z drive".  L7580 functions perfectly whether or not I let this "Z drive link" in my network list and if I choose to disconnect the drive "Z".  At this point, it's just a boring anomaly.  However, I have a Lexmark Black and white on that same network laser network printer and the Lexmark does not exhibit this behavior.  I have a small home network (cable modem, router 4-port Netgear with two computers and these two printers plugged into the router 4 ports.)  The router assigns the two printers IP addresses and I can connect to the web page internal to each printer with its information and settings just by entering their respective IP addresses in my browser (192.168.1.x).

Just curious to know if one of the members of the technical forum have some ideas about this anomaly.  Can live with it, I won't if I don't have to.

I don't think that it is an "anomaly". IIRC, the printer has memory card ports. So when you install the printer software, network drives are created as a reference for the memory card slots. They will appear even if you have all the cards inserted. Even if you remove them now, they will reappear after you restart the PC. All I can suggest is to ignore it.

  • Map network drive Auto Login password

    Windows XP mapped drive
Auto login password when the computer is restarted is not correct and therefore prompts the user to enter.
Self-opening worked before. Yesterday, the password for the server has been changed.
I disconnected the old drive and created a new drive mapped with the new password and auto-connect on reboot option checked. Player features mapped correctly until the computer is restarted to indicate the user login box with the error message invalid username or password. Enter the password manually will connect the drive. It seems the automatic connection parameters have not last updated the new password and still uses the old password.
(With disconnecting mapped drive, remap the process of training all our computers Windows XP I have this problem but our Windows computers 7/8 are all working correctly.)

I found a solution to this.

1 disconnect a mapped network drive.
    2. connect a network drive, but are not select Reconnect at startup.
    3. restart the computer. The mapped network drive is not there.
4 map the network again drive. This time select Reconnect at startup.
5 restart the computer. The mapped network drive will be there and activation it will automatically connect with the password.

  • Windows XP Embedded no initialization of network drives

I'm developing a c# application that runs on Windows XP Embedded and recording data on a network drive. I mounted this drive in Windows like X:\ and set it to "Reconnect at startup.

However, after the restart, if I run my application, I get an error "could not find a part of the path"X:\filename.csv"
If I open windows Explorer, the network drive exists. If I double click to open it, the file exists. If I restart the application after you have done this, the application will then work perfectly.
It seems that even if the disk has been added, it is not initialized at startup and can not be used by applications. Only when you manually select it become initialized.
Is it possible to automatically initialize this drive to make it accessible?

Create a batch file to perform the boot container...

    ; delay for 60 seconds
    PING 1.1.1.1 n 1 w 60000 > ZERO
    ; Removes current mapped drive
    NET use x:/d
    ; Remappe drive x
    NET use x: \\ThePcName\TheShareFolderName

Right now, your drive is mapped, but it is not set to automatically connect at startup or the network connection is slow, manually by opening the Player X:\ you initialize it.
The batch file waits 60 seconds in order to give time to pc to establish connectivity network and maps the drive, so the connection to the drive is there before running your program.
To ensure that your computer never automatically disconnects / times out from the network.
    • Open command prompt
    • Type in net config server/autodisconnect:-1
    • Then press enter

  • How to use the full Windows Vista Edition backup utility to create a backup of the computer of my computer on a network drive?

I can read and write in my Win7 computer I'm currently configured to run any server at home, I can watch TV, store files and folders individual, to create, remove, in other words all I can do on this machine, I can do. 3. to disks are mapped to this machine and show as readers y and z.

I had no problem establishing actions and everything seems to work.

However, when I try to do a full backup of a computer with network drives they don't show in the drive selection drop-down list in the center of complete backup of Windows. Arises in each drive on this machine, not the target readers when they are listed in my computer and do show and reconnect when I reboot the machines.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you:

    Don

    Hi Don,

You can follow these methods & check if it helps.

    Method 1

You can cancel the drive mapping & check if readers appear in the Windows complete PC Backup Center.

Disconnect your computer from a network or network drive

Reference: back up your programs, files and settings of the system,

    Method 2

In addition, you can also follow the suggestion of TexRyker on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 18:07 from this link.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about the back upward, and restore the registry in Windows: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

  • To remove the error message about the network drive

I have W7 Home and recently restructured.   I had this problem of reformatting finally a long time ago and it is solved but do not remember how.  Whenever I boot, I get the message "connection impossible network drives.  When I click it, I see the Epson printer has a red X on it and says Epson memory card.  The printer has always shown in my computer, but it works very well.  All I need is to get rid of the error message.  I tried to go into the center of the Action and unclicking on error messages of network firewall but that did not help. I'll print on any solution this time for the next restructuring!  Thanks for any advice.

Epson support says that since the printer connecting wireless much later that opens Windows, Windows is not see when it starts.  They say that it is a Windows problem, not them.

To get rid of the error message, I disconnect a right-click on my computer and clicked on the network drive.  I find the error message disappeared and the printer works fine.  I don't know if there's a problem with that.
