I upgraded to el capitan, now I can't use illustrator without installing Java and Java will not be installed
I've upgraded to el Capitan and now can't use Illustrator without Java and Java is not installed.
What Java did you install? There is the old V. 6 of Apple and a newer version of Oracle. What version of Illustrator do you use?

connection between sql server and java
someone please tell me how to connect to sql server with java
Welcome to the forums.
The forums are a research tool very useful - by using the search box you will see near the top right. You will find that most of the questions that ask you, which, have already been asked on the forum, so it pays to research frist - that way you get a faster response and you can find other interesting things.
In this case, I did a quick search using SQL Server and found these threads that will probably help:

Please read the documentation of the requirement for Oracle APEX 5. Ensure that your environment meets these requirements. Upgrade your oracle database or other software if necessary components and then you can go right 4.1/4.2 to 5.0 update according to the above-discussed upgrade strategies in the above discussions.
Reference: https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E59726_01/install.50/e39144/pre_require.htm#HTMIG376
You should go for upgrade of the Oracle APEX of 4.1 to 5.x. Regression test your applications to remove if any errors introduced by upgrade. The kickoff of a new project to migrate your applications to universal theme.

The upgrade to vCenter Server to vCenter Server 5.1 5.1 update 1 when the SQL database is remote and vCenter Server Heartbeat is installed
Hi guys,.
I'm in the middle of an upgrade to vSphere 5.1 5.1 vSphere update 1. I have vCenter protected by HB and SQL on a separate computer (also protected by HB) I also run Syslog, Update Manager and Proxy authentication on vCenter.
I've successfully upgraded HB on all 4 nodes (2 x vCenter & 2 x SQL) and started the upgrade components on the secondary according to the •vCenter Server Heartbeat 6.5 server and vCenter Update 1 Installation on Windows Server 2008 when the secondary server is virtual (PDF) http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vcenter-server-heartbeat-65-u1-installation-windows-2008-virtual-guide.pdf
I got to step 3.c
3. change the primary/active server role:
a launch of the vCenter Server Heartbeat wizard configure server and click the tab of the Machine to change the server role for the current server (primary) to the active State and click Finish.
b using the Service Control Manager, start the Server Heartbeat of VMware vCenter service.
c using the vCenter Server Heartbeat Console, check that all the status icons on the server: summary page are green indicating that the boot process is completed and protected from all the services are started.
d using the Service Control Manager, stop the service Server Heartbeat of VMware vCenter.
As the vCenter service does not start, I'm stuck at this point. As far as I'm concerned, the error is quite logical. I've updated vCenter using the secondary server, and then I'm trying to connect (according to the guide) with another version that breaks down.
If I continue with the services stop and launch the installer SSO, it is trying to perform an uninstall!
Did I miss something in this upgrade?
Concerning
Ciaran
Hi guys, VMware have finally updated the documentation to reflect the right way forward: https://www.vmware.com/support/pubs/heartbeat_pubs.html U1 6.5 Select from the menu drop-down and you'll see the last date of update for each of the documentation is now 10/10/2013. The guide States now specifically to restore the vCenter database before proceeding with any other measure, this is copied below for convenience: "the upgrade of the main server of the upgrade process further guess upgrading the secondary server completed successfully. Procedure 1 before continuing the upgrade process, perform a restore of the database of vCenter Server, Single Sign-On database, VMware Update Manager database and SSL certificates that were backed up in step 4 on the secondary server. regards Ciaran

Difference between patches and upgrades in vCenter Server 4?
We improve just vCenter for version 4. The ESX hosts are still running ESX 3.5 U5.
When we run the Update Manager, we see that there are two checkboxes - Patches and upgrade. We assume that the patch is host and upgrade to ESX 3.5 to ESX 3.5 to vSphere 4. Is this correct?
When we run Manager update with the two boxes checked, it appears the fixes that we must apply for these ESX 3.5 hosts. However, there is no upgrade poster for us to upgrade to vSphere ESX 3.5 U5. Are there any suggestions?
Thank you
Hi Tony,.
Box upgrade is when you want to scan your host for upgrade compliance - for example if it is 3.5 and want to upgrade to 4.0
Patches box is related to 3.5 and 4.0 host but only for cumulative patches, updates and individual patches. That's the main difference - change the host of 3.5 to 4.0 version is done by upgrade and spend 3.5 U1 with U2's patch.
If you want to check what patches you need - create base patch dynamic host. Upgrade, you must download iso 4.0 upgrade of host based and clean up with her

Thank you Please, once you connect to the application server Peoplesoft VM with psadm2, run the following:
env|grep LANG
And post the result.
LANG should be C, if this isn't your side follow these steps:
export LANG=C
And re-start the Appserver field.
To keep consistency during the startup of the server, add the line in the psadm2 user .bash_profile.
Changed the .bash_profile or any other initialization file? Because everything should be fine by default.

VSM 6.3.2 to 7.0 upgrade (and beyond)
Hello world.
Is there a "simple" procedure to install VSM 7 (and beyond) on a server provided with 6 preinstalled VSM CIVS-MSP-2RU (I have erroneously specified a different type of server before but edited)?
I found the tar file to reformat the Server 6.3.2 and a guide to reformat to 7.0 (with a warning that this should be used on servers preinstalled with 7, which is not the case), but I can't find a simple guide to just do a clean installation and a clean update (no migration as the client has no need of previous data).
This exists? Should I open a TAC case for the upgrade to do?
We already have:
L-CPS-M-OM-SW7
L-CPS-M-MS-SW7
L-CPS-M-MOHAMED-7
Which in theory should cover the upgrade.
In addition, this server is apparently preinstalled with 6.2.0 (YaST said). And SuSE 10 SP1.
I hope that this server is extensible, because on the download page, I see only mentions on the servers that are preinstalled with 6.3, path of no return to 6.2.
Please advice.
Thanks in advance.
(1) CPS-MSP-1RU-K9 with recovery DVDs VSM 6.3.2 recreate the image
You're already at 6 x so ignore the first step.
(2) after the installation of operating system use YaST GUI to configure the network - server IP address, netmastk, and default gateway - and set the date and time.
(3) download VSM 7.2.0 for SLES10 SP1 for desktop
(4) download 7.2.0 for SLES10 SP1 Server VSM VSM
(5) create the directory for the VSM 7.2.0 RPM files and extract the contents of the VSM 7.2.0 file .zip to this directory. Replace it with this directory.
(6) uninstall VSM 6
# rpm - qa | grep Cisco | XARGS RPM EI
(7) Uninstall Java JRE 1.6
# RPM EI jre
(8) install Java JRE 1.7
# RPM jre - ivh-7u17-linux - i586.rpm

(9) install the VSM 7.2 software
# rpm - ivh Cisco*.rpm
The creation of the multimedia server and Operations Manager databases can take several minutes each.
(10) launch the VSM software
# /etc/init.d/cisco start
(11) connect to the Management Console of the server with the default password "secur4u".
https:///vsmc/
(12) you must then change the password for the user localadmin.
(13) complete the initial installation.
(a) if the server is running VSOM, select "Operations Manager".
(b) set the time zone and NTP server. An NTP server is required for servers running VSOM.
(c) define the name of the host server and the domain name. Disable all unused network interfaces.
(14) at the end of the initial installation, the server will be restarted.
(15) after the server restarts VSM will start. VSOM will go through an initialization that can take 10-20 minutes to complete. Reload the page of connection VSOM until the domain field displays "localhost".
You can check that VSOM still the initialization of the catalina.log. Run the command:
# tail-f /usr/BWhttpd/tomcat/logs/catalina.log
Then reload the VSOM login page and you will see messages indicating "VSOM is initialization" as in the example below:

INFO: Interceptor has thrown exception, relax now
org.apache.cxf.interceptor.Fault: failed operation: VSOM is still initializing. Try again after some time
(16) connect to VSOM as "admin" with the password "admin". The password must be changed.
(17) to complete the configuration of the multimedia server select the VSM Control Panel Server > servers, and then click the Advanced Media Server display media server settings. Make sure appropriate record partitions are selected and at least one partition is selected for cutting to enable the creation of video clip.

Upgrade and migrate from 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.2 - Please suggest
We plan to upgrade and migration of 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.2
Modules: HFM and FDM
Could you please suggest a better way to do it?
Details:
1. whether to go 11.1.2.2 fresh install ?
2. What are the material and the requirements of the system S/W?
3. other difficulties?
4. If we opt for the upgrade 9 to 11?
5. equipment & system S/W required? and the steps to do it?
Migration of the 9th version HFM and FDM app 11
6. What are the best way to do it?
Kindly help me!
Note: Please do not refer read me the Oracle links (Introduction - Oracle EPM System 11.1.2.2 Documentation Library) docs. need your valuable suggestions.
Thank you
Hello
My first question is why 11.1.2.2 and not 11.1.2.3? 11.1.2.3 seems to solve a lot of 11.1.2.2 questions.
1. my first answer would be for a new installation because you have to use the latest OS and hardware... If you're on Hyperion 9, you must have Windows 2003 server and at least 5 years equipment, correct?
2 check the Oracle documents
3. There are a lot of challenges at the level of the application, but this depends on your application works. Not all users have the same apps and therefore do not have the same questions.
4. you will need to install a 11.1.1.4 system for the upgrade of the application, but you have to move to 11.1.2.x
6. I suggest you build a new application with a new design... just upgrade an older application will not use the last HFM/FDM modules...
Kind regards

Explicitly mapping between objects ActionScript and Java to BlazeDS Messaging Service
BlazeDS documentation shows how to map explicitly between ActionScript and Java objects. For example, this works very well for RPC services, for example
import flash.utils.IExternalizable;
import flash.utils.IDataInput;
import flash.utils.IDataOutput;
[Bindable]
[RemoteClass(alias="javaclass.User")]
public class User implements IExternalizable {
public var id : String;
public var secret : String;
public function User() {
}
public function readExternal(input : IDataInput) : void {
id = input.readObject() as String;
}
public function writeExternal(output : IDataOutput) : void {
output.writeObject(id);
}
}
and
import java.io.Externalizable;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.io.ObjectInput;
import java.io.ObjectOutput;
import java.util.HashSet;
import java.util.Iterator;
import java.util.Set;
public class User implements Externalizable {
protected String id;
protected String secret;
public String getId() {
return id;
}
public void setId(String id) {
this.id = id;
}
public String getSecret() {
return secret;
}
public void setSecret(String secret) {
this.secret = secret;
}
public void readExternal(ObjectInput in) throws IOException,
ClassNotFoundException {
id = (String) in.readObject();
}
public void writeExternal(ObjectOutput out) throws IOException {
out.writeObject(id);
}
}
If I called a RPC service that refers to a user, the secret is not sent on the wire. Is it also possible to do this for the e-mail service? In other words, if I create a custom message adapter and use the function below, also prevent secret to be sent?
MessageBroker messageBroker = MessageBroker.getMessageBroker(null);
AsyncMessage message = new AsyncMessage();
message.setDestination("MyMessagingService");
message.setClientId(UUIDUtils.createUUID());
message.setMessageId(UUIDUtils.createUUID());
User user = new User();
user.setId("id");
user.setSecret("secret");
message.setBody(user);
messageBroker.routeMessageToService(message, null);
Hi Martin. The way the serialization/deserialization AUTHORITY works for BlazeDS is the same regardless of service is used, then Yes, that code will work for messaging as well. On the server, the serialization/deserialization of messages coming to the endpoint. For an incoming message, for example, endpoint deserializes the message and passes it to the MessageBroker who decides what service/destination to deliver the message to.
That is a good question. Thank you for asking. A lot of people is used to make custom services (RemoteObject/RemotingService) RPC serialization/deserialization but I'm not sure that everyone realizes that they can do this for messaging as well.

Shared and dedicated server...
Dear all,
Can someone tell what is the difference between shared and dedicated servers? Our database is Oracle 9.0.1 in Windows 2003. Our total session is about 200. Our server is a dedicated server. What will be the benefit if we change our database to a server shared for specific users?
The sharing pool size = 728MB
Buffer cache = 592MB
Java pool = 104MB
Large pool = 60 MB
There is no pga_aggregate_target in our database. Is ok for more than 200 users configuration? Most of the time out us "process memory error." What should we do in this situation? Please suggest. The user connected with the connection to the server has the dedicated resource to find out if the user makes the work connection remains assigned to this user. So if your username does not work and if there are fewer network resources, this user blocked another user to connect or executing the user's request by this user work queue. This connection is better when you have a lot of resources or some administrative user as "SYS", "SYS" for administrative work and for the batch,
When there is a shared server that the connection of the user is shared, it is the user connects by dispatchers and when a user is idle its resource can be used by other users, so decrease the load on the system, it is more likely in an environment where the user is essentially inactive, such as an order entry system.
In a server connection shared he dedicated also possible for the admin user.
If your environment is then shared OLTP is preferable because the tasks need little time.
If warehouse, OLAP, Data Mining, users run query long and heavy load where it is preferable to use the dedicated server.
Depends on your satisfaction and needs, if you satisfied with the load, the user is satisfied, you have a lot of resource, you can go for dedicated.
If you have fewer resources, but to support more simultaneous user shared is the best.

GC and Java Heap OutOfMemory
We have two applications on the same server - an Oracle data source, and the other used a source SQL Server. When the Oracle application is run, it uses the heap space but GC periodically runs and restores the memory. However when the SQL Server application runs, the heap can contain more and more memory until it runs out of space.
These two applications are running a very similar code, but just to point to different data sources. I read many entries of forum about OutOfMemory errors but this can vary, because even if the code allows memory to be released, the heap is finally released when CF expires and the soft numbers went (the standard 20-minute timer). This happens with the Oracle application but not the SQL Server application. Even when the "Session Timeout" variable is reached of heap memory is still being detained. The only way to retrieve that memory is by restarting CF.
It is a RedHat AS 4 Linux machine and it happens with CFMX7 and CF8 as a single server. I watched (very cool) with CF8 memory cards and you can see the peaks and valleys for the race of the Oracle, but the SQL Server application develops and grows.
I turned on the logging of pile and watched several iterations of Young GC followed by a Full GC. This pattern continues as the Oracle application is running. However, the SQL Server application starts like that, but as time passes he resorts to only full GCs until it reaches errors ' time GC is higher than 98% GCTimeLimit "and" means: Java heap space "errors.
So my questions are: given that the applications run differently on the same machine, could there be a difference between Oracle and SQL Server data sources and why doesn't CF never find the app disappeared and give back a lot space? I found the answer, and unfortunately I was wrong in my original assumptions. It turns out that the code was different from one application to the other because one of them uses "cachedwithin" and the other not.
The developer thought that he had removed this code as a possible problem when he used zeros as parameters (as in "cache to 0 days, hours, minutes and seconds"). However, he always hides the same data. But when he took the cachedwithin setting completely, then nothing has been put in cache and the job remained calm.
So that we can see that we will have to pay much more attention to what is cached and when and for how long. A list of exactly what is happening in each part of the Java heap would be nice (session variables, data cfcache, cachedwithin, etc.) ...

Best computer upgrade and save options
Couple of questions different but first background with what I use our computer to my work. We produce 2 large catalogs a year, deal with TONS of images to create our range of products with our own unique designs created in-house. Large files with a lot of storage and a screen with true colors is therefore paramount.
1. we are looking to upgrade a desktop computers (old iMac that I can't even find the year on it). I recently had to completely erase and reset up to an iMac (27 "mid-2011, intel core i7 to 3.4 GHZ;) Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3) we could substitute, but it has been unreliable in the past (where the reason I wiped it). Praying is good to go now, but I don't feel too comfortable with it and so I am researching options for the purchase of a new. Any suggestions?
2. the other computer in our office is a Mac Pro (mid-2012; Processor: 2 x 3.06 GHz 6 - Core Intel Xeon; Memory: 48 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC; Storage: 427.04 free G to Go 999,35 more a free WD4TB of 3.49 tuberculosis and a 4 TB 2,81 free TB MyBook). I am looking for a reliable backup option. We have a great Pro LaCie 5big (I can't seem to get any other information that it) I try to keep everything backed up on all the computer and I use the WD4TB and the MyBook actually keep all our files and knit out of them. Did some research earlier, I read that drives external hard only last 1-3 years and still less with constant use on them. We produce a large catalog, so I thought that in order to save wear and tear on my MacPro and keep it clear so I could easily work in several large files, it would be smart to run all my files off my external drive of my book, but now I'm not so sure since I read that could degrade the lives of the MyBook.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thank you!!
For backup, I prefer pregnant OWC (www.macsales.com) because they seem to live forever. However HD is HD fail eventually. I have gone through other types of housing including LaCie, Seagate, and WD and have had prolonged with OWC products then success than others always failed.
Your business may be a good candidate for the ThunderBay 4 OWC solution that has the ability to manage up to 24 TB of data.

I can't plug ins for Adobe and Java
When I try to upgrade Adobe Shockwave and Java I am directed to "http://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb13-28.html" I'm on a mac os 10.7.5.
Sometimes sites checking plugin link to the release notes of an update instead of the installer. Not sure why this is happening. Here are some alternatives:
Flash (Shockwave Flash) Player: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ (be sure to uncheck all the unwanted before downloading extras)
Java plugin: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp (be sure to uncheck all the unwanted when installing extras)
