Discovery of material SMU

I have an SMU-1078 chassis with a controller SMU-8840.  I intend to use Veristand, and when it starts, he said Veristand engine idling.  Pending order.

It works very well with Veristand, but I wanted to use Labveiw, and when I do a Labview project I can't find it when I try to add a device/target.  If I set the IP address, it gives me a generic computer at this IP address, but no configuration or options.

Thanks, I had a discussion with an app engineer NOR, and I had not installed Labview Real Time, that's why I could see in Max, but not find out in Labview.

  • VM cannot access the material of the hypervisor

Hello.  I have ESXi installed on a workstation HP xw6600 (dual xeon 2 GHz, 8 GB of RAM and processors about 1 TB of the storage facility in two data warehouses).  I have made is P2V or V2V migration to fill the hypervisor with VM (I have 4 currently running) and am now trying to install a new virtual machine.  I created the virtual machine itself, inserted the Win2K8 DVD into the DVD drive of the workstation and set in motion the virtual machine.  The virtual machine starts in PXE mode (of course, as there is no OS installed), but in the VM properties dialogue box, less material, I can only set the CD/DVD drive on client device type (and then connect to it, once the virtual machine is running, which bypasses the discovery of material in POST) and not to the type of host device (which would allow me to select the connection to the discretion power).  So I'm stuck with a virtual machine that is configured, will continue to feed on fine, but does not automatically connect to the DVD local drive so that I am able to install on OS!  Very frustrating... ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    No problem.

In the configuration of the virtual machine, under the cdrom, there is the option to select "Client" (the CD-ROM of your desktop), host (your cdrom of ESX Server) device and Datastore ISO file. Select the Datastore ISO file.

You can then search the ISO in question file and select it.

Also be sure to check the box "Connect to turn on" at the top.

I have a hp pavilion all-in-one pc bought in dec.2012 works fine until Tuesday. 4/23 when I turn it on I get a yellow triangle saying I do not have internet connection but my modem all lights are green and when I go through the connection to fix it tells me that my ethernet ip address is not valid, talk to my internet provider and they said he had to with the ehternet software can anyone help

    Hello

If you do not see the card Realtek ethernet in Manager devices under network adapters, or any abnormal indication of an ethernet driver issue then the operating system is not presented with a discovery of material for the on-board ethernet card.  Windows 8 still detects hardware additions and changes at boot time.

Turn on the PC and tap the ESCAPE key to get the Setup Menu. Then select the configuration of the computer (F10) and then look under the headings of security - security of the device and make sure that the network adapter is not marked as hidden.  It must be marked device available.

If you do not get satisfaction from the above suggestion then start in the configuration Menu and run a set of hardware diagnostics (F2).

Your PC is still under warranty so if the issue is not resolved then contact HP support.

HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

    EARLY DAWN,

Did you go to Device Manager to check if the audio controller shows installed without any problem? Try to uninstall the driver then restart your pc and let the discovery of material take over and reinstall the driver.

  • How can I turn a channel in the SMU-6556 hsdio for material comparison mode?

    Hello

    I am developing a system with Labview2013, TestStand2013, and SMU-6556

    The system diagram is:

    SMU-6556 > - 12 channels - 3---> Dut1

    Hardware compare mode:---3 channels---> Dut2

    | - 3 channels---> Dut3

    | - 3 channels---> Dut4

In TestStand, I have the following configuration:

    1. in the "Setup" section I'm loading ~ 10 digital waveforms with 12 channels each in memory of SMU-6556.

    2. in the section 'Hand', that I'm running in hardware compare mode each digital waveforms. (DWF1, DWF2,..., DWF10)

The system works well for test of 4 had.

Without loading a new wave form how can I enable/disable underwent?

For example, how can I configure to test only the dut1 and dut3?

    HELO engfpe,

You can see the advanced, advanced attribute: hardware compare: bit Error Cumulative property and see if that will get your request.

Cumulative error Bits will tell you what mistakes HWC product channels even if the FIFO is full. In this way, you can at least know where to pass the ASE. If it fails and you would like more information, then you should always charge the waveform in order to get a manageable number of HWC error, but hope that helps at least. This feature was added in NOR-HSDIO 2.0, so make sure you have the latest driver.

  • Comparison of material works do not correctly with SMU-6548

    Hi all

Recently, I have developed an application that accesses the memory of DUT using SMU-6548. I was able to load a vector file HWS and get the result as a 'good' or 'fail' based on the comparison of hardware.

For some reason, the card PXI wrote in the address correctly, reads correctly but does not display the correct result for "number of errors in the sample. I can see the data you expect on an oscilloscope. At the same time the VI shows more than 0 sample error and therefore concludes that this device did not read what was expected.

    Please help solve this problem.

  • Band bandwidth SMU for FPGA chassis

I'm specing on material for an FPGA FlexRIO system. The module FPGA and adapter, we will use has already been defined, a 7975R and a 5782. For our application, we will be streaming 2 inputs analog on a RT controller attached. From my understanding, these samples will be single precision floating point numbers, each of which is a piece of 4 bytes. Assuming that the 5782 max sampling rate is used, 250 MECH. / s, I think that I will need 2 GB/s of bandwidth on my SMU chassis.

Here my question, then, what SMU chassis should I consider? The SMU-1082 has "up to 2 GB/s per-slot dedicated bandwidth", but it is a real or theoretical number? Normally, I would just get the next thing that high, just to be sure, but there is a significant price difference on the way to the SMU 1085, which is also much larger I need. So I would like to save space and several thousands of dollars if I could get away with a 1082. Sampling does not quite to the max modules of adaptation would be acceptable, but I would be interested to know where about my maximum sampling speed would be.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The 1082 has more than enough bandwidth to stream data at a time to the analog inputs of a 5782.  The 5782 has a 14 bit ADC with two channels that sample to 250 ms/s. These samples are returned as an I16 with the two least significant bits filled with zeros.

So assuming that you transfer all I16, rather than packing the 14 bits of data, you would have the following bandwidth requirements.

    2 channels x 2 bytes/sample x 250 mega-samples per second = 1 GB/s

The 1082 a 2 GB/s of throughput dedicated per slot. The 7975 accommodates up to 1.6 Gbps streaming. I would recommend calling chat with someone, if you are looking for a recommendation on what type of chassis to purchase, but based on the requirements of streaming that you're fine with the combo 7975 and 1082, you thought. Just make sure you get a controller which can accommodate streaming speeds you're looking for. The 8840 is a good candidate.

  • I have an SMU-5672 and capture the baseband on an oscilloscope. Can I do this?

I have a generator of signals Vectoriels SMU-5672 and to capture the baseband with a reach to compare synchronization with my receiver (HAD).  I would like to connect a scope to the SMU-5442, but don't know if that problem.  Of course, I am particularly concerned by damaging the material.  This method would be the ideal way to check my timing of answer, but if you can't, I'm open to other suggestions.

Yes, you can do it.  The device driver 5672 configures the 5442 for use is the direct path.  Direct tension max is 1 Vpp into 50 Ohm, 2 Vpp scope in high impedance, so make sure that your scope is put in place for this.

Continue to use the 5672 as usual, but with your scope related to the CH 5442 0 output.  Assuming that the scope leads his entry (should not), there is no concern damaging the 5610 or 5442 by doing this.

Unless split you the signal (not what I say), you won't get a signal off the 5610.  It is not clear how you planned to compare the signal for synchronization with your DUT.  No signal can be OK if you compare the time vs a trigger digital, may be exported from the 5442.  Be aware, however, that IF IN addition to RF Out 5610 is about 1.2 US.

Also note that if you set NIRFSG_ATTR_COMPENSATE_FOR_FILTER_GROUP_DELAY to true, and a marker on sample output 0 event, event marker will be delayed to address delays in the processing of signal in the 5442 and delay analogue 5610, causing the marker event should be harmonized with the time "sample 0" appears on the RF Out 5610.  This attribute was added after the original version and the default values to false to preserve backward compatibility.

If you are looking to compare calendar, setting the true Compensate for filter Group delay is actually what I would do rather than split the signal IF Out 5442.  You can check how much are aligned by tuning the 5672 at a fairly low frequency for your bezel measure.  5610 late is dominated by the IF filter, which is independent of the RF frequency.

  • Programmatically change the SMU-2529 with NISE topology

    Hello!

I have an SMU-2529 control by NISE to test certain products. These products require the topology of the matrix to change while I'm testing them.

Is it possible to do it by programming?

Opening/closing session NISE can be solution (although I prefer not to close), but I can't find an option string xorking to change the topology...

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    zyl7,

Unfortunately there is no way to change the topology on the fly with NI Switch Executive. A better method would be to have two virtual devices NISE, one for 4 x 32 2 son configuration and the other for configuration 8 x 16 2 son. You close the NISE of VirtualDevice1 session and log on to VirtualDevice2 that references the same material. Of course, you should make sure that external connections are properly connected, but that should change the topology for you.

Note: Logoff the NISE to VirtualDevice1 and opening the session NISE to VirtualDevice2 will reset the switch module and cause any previous connections open.

    I hope this helps!

  • Problem sending trigger software through backplane PXI (chassis SMU-1082, SMU-6363 DAQ, SMU-6544-HS-DIO)

    Dear community,

I am trying to implement a background basket (software) PXI trigger on a chassis NI SMU-1082 with LabView 2015 (32-bit) running on an SMU-8135:

    HS-DIO (SMU-6544) in slot 2,

-Acquisition of data (SMU-6363) into the Groove 4,

    -Flex RIO (SMU-7962R + OR-6583) in the Groove 3.

The trigger schema is explained in the attached file ' LV-PXItrig-HSDIO-DAQ - overview.jpg ".

Scenario 1: written DAQ analog signal and sends signals trigger HS-DIO (software) through bottom of basket, after East of waveform of the complete signals to DAQ for acquisition.

Scenario 2: logical impulse on an external port HS-DIO triggers signals HS-DIO, after HS-DIO waveform is complete DAQ triggered for the acquisition of the ADC by the backplane.

In principle this breaks down to send a trigger of module A to B by PXI backplane. The SMU-1082 chassis has a bus trip with 8 lines (PXI_trigX, X = 0,..., 7) more a trigger in Star controlled the slot 2.

I've linked to implement a software trigger, but I can't access the refreshing resource and execution, see the attachment. Other ways of implementation including the DAQmx Terminal / routine disconnect Terminal have not worked for me either. I am aware about the connection of trigger using the node property VISA but I can't make a trigger.

Tips, comments or solutions are appreciated. Thank you!

For scenario 1, you want to trigger the HSDIO acquisition to begin as soon as the analog output DAQ starts?  You can use DAQmx Export Signal to send the trigger for the start of one of the lines from the Trig PXI backplane. Then, you need to configure your HSDIO acquisition to use a trigger digital beginning on the same line of trigger. Take a look at the example of the "Dynamic hardware generation start trigger" in the Finder of the example (help > find examples)

For scenario 2, looks like you do a dynamic unit HSDIO generation when a digital trigger arrives on one of the PFI lines. Once the build is complete, you want to send a trigger for the DAQ hardware to begin sampling. If this is the case, you again use a trigger to start material in your task of NOR-HSDIO, as you did for scenario 1, but use external trig line as the source, rather than the bottom of basket. There is no case of material when the build is finished, but you can use a marker in script mode event instead. The example of the Generation with dynamic event marker' in the example Finder gives a good starting point for this type of operation. You'll want to set the output terminal for the event to be a line of backplane trig, and then tap the DAQmx to start on the same line trig trigger.

  • Unable to access SMU-7962R + OR-5734 in LabVIEW

    Hello

I have already developed a SMU system that uses FlexRIO. This has worked well. FlexRIO devices appear in MAX OR as follows (note that FlexRIO modules have yellow icons of FPGA, and their adaptation modules are shown):

I'm now trying to build an exact copy of this system. I put together a together identical material, and (far as I can tell) I installed all the same components as the original system (using the NI Developer Suite 2015 DS1 set). However, something is not quite right. Here's what MAX OR shows me in the new system (note that FlexRIO devices now have generic grey icons instead of yellow icons of FPGA, and adaptation modules are not visible).

In addition, the LabVIEW code that I developed for the original system generates a runtime on the new system error "NOR-RIO: (Hex 0xFFFF0928) the name of the supplied resource is not valid in a resource name of RIO or the device was not found." Use MAX to find resources appropriate for the expected device name. " LabVIEW is unable to find RIO devices:

Here is the list of software installed on the new system:

I also installed NI FlexRIO Adapter Module Support 14.1.0 (who does not appear in NI MAX). Can anyone place what Miss me?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi David,

2 controllers had exactly the same BIOS (version 1.2.0f0), which was the latest version for the SMU-8135.

It turns out that, even if I had installed the drivers, Windows had not "registered" (?) the drivers properly for some reason any. There was a lot of articles in "Device Manager"-> "devices OR-RIO":

    • x 15 "NI SMU-7962R", were all OK

    • x 15 "NOR-RIO FPGA Device", all had yellow exclamation on them.

I clicked "NOR-RIO FPGA Device" and selected "update driver software...". '-> 'Browse my computer for driver software'-> "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer"-> 'NI - RIO FPGA Device'. After that I did "device of FPGA OR-RIO", all 15 exclamation points disappeared and I could use my FlexRIOs correctly.

  • PXI-5154 making fried SMU-1075

So, I just tried to install a PXI-5154 in SMU-1075 chassis.  I followed the instructions that came with the card, but after turning on the chassis, there is no wizard detection of material, and no LED light came.  I was going to try it in a different location, but when I slipped the card out of the chassis, I saw that looked burnt decision-making (see attached image).  I'm not sure that I was wrong, and now I'm worried I might have damaged some of the other cards that have been installed in the chassis.  So my question is double: 1) an idea of what went wrong here? 2.) nothing to say if the chassis itself is somewhat damaged? (3.) if the damage has not been caused by some error on my part of the user, is there an any warranty / replacement of the card?

    Thank you

Well, turns out the instructions that came with the card were bad... the instructions say plug the card into a slot chassis marked with a number of cicrled, turns out I needed to plug the card into a slot with a number of cirled with a small 'H' beside him. Everything seems to be working fine now, thanks zeus

    Greetings!

I am looking for examples LabWindows CVI or a help file that shows the function or api calls to control the attributes of progrannable of the HSDIO SMU 6556/6555.

    Hi Ken;

"' You can find examples for the NOR-HSDIO in the example LabWindows CVI Finder by clicking on help > NOR example Finder and navigate to the material input and output" Modular Instruments ' NOR-HSDIO; "" "" or you can search in Start "all programs" National Instruments "NOR-HSDIO ' examples.

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/370520J-01/HSDIO/using_ni_hsdio_in_labwindows_cvi/

Just make sure that when you installed the driver, you have also installed the Application Development Enviroment Support for LabWindows CVI, otherwise the examples will not be there.

  • SMU Chassis or modules appearing does not in NI Instrument Driver Finder/connecte Intstruments

New user, to debut with a chassis SMU-1073, controlled by a PC, with supply POWER 4113, 4145 SMU and 4071 modules DMM.

I installed all the drivers from the supplied USB system and I can indeed see/control of the chassis and modules of NI MAX.

When I try to see the modules Labview 2012 or 2014 (I'm looking for example VI to start) Instrument Driver finder does not show any chassis or modules.

Looking for support OR but could find no generic "Here's how to start using this box OR $20,000 without flinching" first steps to help.

So, I was hoping that it was a mistake and plug and play like the other instruments I connected and used. What I am doing wrong?

Do not use the finder of the instrument. Use the help > examples of find and refer to material input and output. Be specific in listing of the drivers you have installed.
