Discovery of servers - discover Nic peer presence
Hello
I am in the initial game upward of 2 6248UP fabric interconnects and 2 chassis 5108 with B200-M3 servers. I get the same error on all servers in the discovery process, including in the process of 'Discover Nic Peer presence'.
Can anyone tell me if there is a work around for this issue?
Best regards!
Victor,

OEM automatic discovery discovers not
Hello, DBAers; RHEL 5 x 64, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.3 - trying to discover a host unmanaged using auto-discovery and following the instructions outlined here
http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E24628_01/doc.121/e24473/discovery.htm#EMADM13119
and auto-discovery is not discovered.
I can "ssh < usrname > @ < host name >"to connect to the target unmanaged machine running the administration server and ping the target of the same server, so it doesn't seem to be a firewall problem. " But OEM is unable to see through the automatic detection. Any of you have ideas?
Humbly,
Solved. Port 443 didn't open on the unmanaged target.
Thank you for your time!

Broadcom Nic showing like Intel Pro inside the machine virtual of W2K3
Hello
I have a server with 4 x Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx NIC and I have created several W2K3 servers and NIC is showing that the Intel Pro/1000 MT network adapter.
Is this normal? I would not be able to see a VMware adapter or a Broadcom card instead of a card Intel?
Thanks, Julien
Hello.
Yes, it's normal. The actual hardware on the host server is subtracted the virtual machines. In this case, you have selected the e1000 nic for your virtual machine, so it's what Windows consider.
Good luck!

Hello
We have several ESX servers with NIC 4 each, assigned to the VM production network. These four connection going in pairs to 2 different switches, so I want to master them two and two.
How I will do this, is hash IP Configuration teaming on the port VM production group. Then, I put the 2 primary NIC (from #1) in the active State and the secondary NIC 2 (switch #2) in the waking state.
So my questions are the following:
If one of the active links fail, what happens exactly? Anything happens at all, while the other active link is active?
Why I ask you, is that I don't want to try VMware and the trunk on one of the secondary links and one of the main links at the same time, send the traffic to the two switches. I like this work, is to use the primary links, and failure, I want a complete switch to the secondary maps - no concomitant use of the active NIC and reserve.
Thanks in advance for answers
/ Rasmus
In my config so you pull a network card the all traffic will pass through the stand of path. because the trunk disables the whole trunk if only one nic fails.

I always get a so-called mistake 'host process has stopped working ".
I received a message 'host process has stopped working "," image of task has been damaged or has been tampered with', and anothermessage that said something about another process has stopped working (it starts with ss; something), I received these messages for about 2 weeks, at least. Two messages later I get when I try to join another computer to my network. Also when I try to change discovery option is discovered the first message I get all the time. How can I fix it? Or what is caiusing this?
Hello
1. don't you make changes to your computer before the problem?
2 could you post back with the exact error messages?I suggest that you follow these steps and check if the problem persists.
Step 1:
An update is available to resolve a Service outage of Intelligent Transfer (BITS) background on a Windows Vista-based computer
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/940520
Step 2:
Put your computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem is related to a software conflict of third parties.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Restart your computer as usual by following step 7.
Step 3:
Also done SFC scan and check if the problem is related to missing or corrupt system files.

I have a server blade and s5000 620 switch (16 servers with NIC 10gig), I want to create three different VLAN's (12--> 192.168.12.1,15--> 192.168.15.1,192.168.8.1) and I want to assign VALN ip to the Server Blade, please help me on this configuration
Here is an article that guides you through the controls to create a VLAN and assign an interface to this VLAN.
And here's a video of assignment of an IP address on the VLANs.
Hope that these will help you get the configured switch.

Hi all
The initial configuration by adding the vcenter for VoP Standard Server 6.3 I get an error "the specified host does not exist or cannot be contacted" after 10 seconds of message 'discovery of servers '. I ping the vcenter from the console. Someone has experienced the same problem? What port VoP tries to connect to vcenter?
If I enter a non-existent host then it also throws this error immediately.
Using vcenter 5.1
Thank you
Peter
Hi Peter,.
A few things to note:
- Try to use the domain name COMPLETE for the host.
- Check the credentials in use
- The TCP 443 port must be opened between the VoP and vCenter.

Dell Open manage Essentials shows a wrong server instead
Hello
We have OME installed 2.0.1 and configured on a server 2012 r2 VM, it's work will be much more than 32 servers discovered and inventoried properly under OME.
Please help solve the question below:
-We have added a server (say it as server A) with IP address: 192.168.1.92, it came very well, but when we checked the details of the inventoried server it shows his name as Server B (which is another server on the network and already been added in the menu inventory OME) under Details on server A, it is also show the ip addresses of server B as well as the IP address of server A to the address mentioned above
Hello
These server A and B have the same host name or DNS name? You can check by doing a nslookup or ping - a both IP addresses?

Using a Cisco ASA 5505 to transfer applications PXE (WDS)
I have a Cisco ASA 5505 that uses approximately 5 CARDS for different networks. Currently, I use my ASA to route traffic as it is the only Cisco device I have able to the small amount of routing required by my network.
Keep separate things that I use 5 CARDS for different networks like outdoors, corp, Printers, workstations, serversand public. Each has a different subnet I keep separate to control all ACL through the firewall of the SAA. All (for example, DHCP with global scope) works very well except the WDS server.
My question is, now I have a new PC connected to the workstations LAN NETWORK card looking for my WDS server that is on the Server LAN. How can I get requests for all different NIC to flow to the servers LAN NIC?
Hello
If you require pass queries all other interfaces to the server DHCP behind "servers" interface?
Then, you need to configure DHCP Relay

dhcprelay enable

Conference CME v9 SLBA Adhoc (more than 3 games) for SIP phones 99xx
HI, does anyone know if MultiPary Adhoc Conference for more than 3 parties for SIP phones (like 9951) is supported in CME v9?
I have a GUY working with CSPC and SIP phones. Conference to several ad-hoc (with more than 3 parties) works perfectly when it is generated from phone SCCP. But when he tries to do so with a SIP phone (9951) it can only do the 3 participants.
I suspect it is not supported, no one knows for sure?
I have enabled hardware Conference. Just in case, here is the config:

Rules run in planning (RTP) to Essbase is quite slow
Hello
I have a new environment of 11.1.2.4 with all servers on the same subnet, no firewall between them. any-any port open.
Essbase server: AIX 6 x 30 RAM
Web/Planning Server: AIX 6 x 30 GB RAM. Bishop of Calc, OHS, Foundation, EAS, planning, EN, RAF
EPMA server: EPMA & FDMEE
We have seen that when the user connects to the planning application > forms > trying to save a form that runs a script to the tracks of fast time (RTP), it takes a lot of time.
We observed that the time is taken only when access Essbase using RTP. The difference is important. It takes more than 20 minutes for the query to hit servers Essbase himself. Once it reached there the treatment occurs in less than 1 sec and displaying only the results back to Planning server performs same 20 minutes.
I did the analysis below
- Latency - results all servers in DEV environment are on the same subnet of the network
- Port blocking - results all ports are open between them
- Too many jumps between two servers - discovered they are connected on the same switch
- Resolution of host name - I removed all names and IP addresses in/etc/hosts that were not necessary, as the management of IP addresses
- Refine the JVMs - I increased the heap of Java to 5 GB for planning. The use of the server does not go beyond 15% at any time.
Applied the latest patches (deleted all the patches and tried to run too)
- Reconfiguration, re - install
- Traceroute, ping, telnet take less than 1ms between planning and Essbase server.
- Create the sample application and running rules.
- Currently, I asked the AIX admin to enter TCP packet travel time between the two ports of the network switch where they are connected.
- This problem occurs even when I try to run the rule in the server. (Connection to a Windows Server, simulate the same using the browser)
- Tried several versions of browser
Has someone known similar problem. Any thougts on what I should be looking at.
Newspapers of planning does not mean anything about the delay. It just shows that after 20 minutes or more. It gives the error that the current process took more time than the "Stuck Thread Timeout" which is 1200 s.
Thank you
AA
John! John!
I found something, I put this false CAPTURE_RTP_ON_JOB_CONSOLE in the properties of the planning and it became magically fast.
Now I think that's why it is faster in the UAT without this value is defined.
The console work captures the values RTP is no longer running rule is therefore faster.
Any thoughts?
Thank you

number of ISCSI targets vs differ in the number of targets
I see 12 targets being shown even if I set only 8 targets.
It is a feature of dynamic discovery.
Discovering a target in a table, the target will be other targets that he knows to the initiator, if the dynamic discovery is used.
This is normal behavior.

I am trying to implement SQLFire on one of my images of dev and index of the instance starts very well. When I try to add all nodes I get connection timeout error.

All this worked on another image I was using but not here, not sure what to debugging here.
Any help is appreciated.
Hello
Try adding "- bind - address = localhost" at the start of the server. The problem may be that when you use peer-discovery-address = localhost, will also default coordinate system to use localhost for P2P messaging, while the server will try to use the first for the same external IP address by default. If it still does not work you can attach the log files from the server (sqlfserver.log and start_sqlfserver.log)?
Thank you

Fonts and fonts highlighting in CP4
Hi all
I just started with CP4, and I have a question about text and highlight. Here are three snags of image, all taken within the interface user CP4. They have 11 pt fonts magnified to 300%.
Why did the text of crisp and clear light colors like this when you enter it:
But when you are finished entering text and click elsewhere, deactivation of the text entry area, it looks like the image below?
If I publish with him like that, it seems the same, noisy, or grey-fuzzy in FF and IE.
I found that change highlight in white gets rid of grey noise:
But I'm curious to know regarding
- Why the default seems to be gray highlighting the text, if indeed that is what is at the origin of the noise in the second picture above, and
- Why display quality seems to decrease when the text box is disabled
- If anyone has found a way to make the fonts to look at the first picture above when published.
Thanks in advance for any information about it!
Hello again
The option in preferences is intended to change the question on a world scale project wide.
Indeed Adobe Community professional colleagues Paul Dewhurst was the first to discover how to prevent that anti-aliasing that occur using the background c0c0c0 color trick. Later we discovered that the presence of a chip anywhere in the legend line would work as well. It seemed easier to achieve by using the c0c0c0 trick, that is why I suggest use it normally.
Another thing that can cause anti-aliasing to occur regardless the tips above if you have 'Font smoothing' is enabled in Windows. Font smoothing is originally from anti-aliasing to occur and it seems strange. Here's a screenshot of it. I always do that in the normal course of a Captivate class.
See you soon... Rick

problem with windows 2003 vpn servers. and xp pro clients vpn using bridge nic
I have installed 2 guests windows 2003 on 2 laptops. both are configured with 1 CC of backend and frontend 1 nat/vpn server that has 2 interfaces, a bridge and one configured for host only.
I configure nat on both servers windows 2003 rras and vpn services and have them connected to my local network. they are able to access internet, ping between them and other computers on the network, as well as the host systems on which they run.
the problem is that I am not able to connect to the vpn servers remotely from inside a guest virtual machine. I wanted to try a vpn site-to site between the guests 2 windows 2003, but the operation failed.
I then tested customer to type of a guest virtual computer pro xp vpn server. It is also a failure.
but I discovered that if I initiate a VPN from any one of the host computer system laptop or another computer on the physical network I am able to connect to the vpn servers I have set up.
I wish I could have these laptops to operate normally and
time to time be able to turn on virtual machines with vpn
servers and test as dfs things and replication active directory as if
they were running 2 separate real-world offices. the two laptops have invited Setup for 192.168.0.0 networks with subnet mask 255.255.255.192. each host that it supposed to be running a 1 subnet for the popular virtual machine with the servers vpn/nat connect together the 2 sites.
laptop computers are running xp pro and vista ultimate as the host systems. I'm only using the windows firewall but also tested with them disabled vpn connections. also launches the service ipsec on laptops to secure internal lan traffic, I have also tested with two guests with disabled ipsec.
is there something I'm missing here with the installation of the vmware bridge network?
Oh I forgot to mention, I test using pptp and ms-chap v2
I managed to do work by unchecking the tcp/ip settings and the microsoft file sharing on the bridged NIC resaeau.
now it works very well but who explain to me why it cannot work when you are using the same network as the host card. they all have two different ip addresses and mac addresses. but something seems to be in conflict
