Display hex values when editing a digital control
Hexadecimal display is deleted when editing a digital control (in the settings) in cvi 2012. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
I have informed our R & D Department of the format settings in 2012 of the CVI. I have filed a request for Corrective Action (CAR # 379345) on this issue, but cannot guarantee that when this problem will be solved. You can check if this problem has been resolved in future versions of the CVI by searching the CAR identification number listed previously in the correction of a CVI Bug information.

Lose control value when tabbing in digital and smooth touch navigation
The attached VI illustrates this.
Run the VI, 'Digital' tab, change the value and press ENTER key. The value you have written does not appear.
If you leave by clicking "stop"button, the value appears.
Everyone treats this without add iterations of the loop? Tools > Options > environment > "End of text with the Enter key" does not help.
Thank you
JasonWell, I found a work around. Do main orientation for the Stop button before reading the value of the control. See attached example.

display the error when editing on front panel
Hello
When I add another tab (notching amplifier) in the front panel, the program displays connection error. What should I do to get rid of these errors? I am attaching the file along the slot vi.
Kind regards.
This happens because the data type of the tab control changes (you add another page). A tab control is essentially an enum and enum values are part of the data type. A reference to the tab control control is to be packaged and passed in several subVIs. Cluster of frontage on these subVIs control has the element 'Hand Control' value "Include the Data Type". Thus, what they expect to see (for example, a tab with 3 pages) is not what they get. That is why the thread cut. You must either:
- Uncheck "Include the Type of data" for the item "control of the hand. I don't know what other impact this will have, as I look at all the code.
- Update all the controls on the front panel with a new reference to the command.
Aside: who wrote this program needs a lesson on the typedefs.

Hi all
I can't display the values that I want. I have a value double say 320 sent to a digital indicator where I edited the properties of it to display in a time format that contains only minutes and seconds as Yes, 3:20 '. Unfortunately, it takes the value and change it to another value and display that. I don't know what is the issue. If anyone knows the solution... Please post!
There is an image attatched!
Thank you.
I believe only then due to the fact that when I convert a timestamp value to double as 03:20, he gave me 320. So I thought that the reverse can be trying. Should I just enter the total amount of seconds and that will show the Minuteseconds I want?
Thanks for the quick response.

Capture digital control last values
Hello
My front panel has several digital commands that I expect the user to enter data in before pressing a button that takes the values of the digital controls and
a power supply programs. What I discovered is that if a user types the digital control and does not support on enter or moves the cursor with the mouse to a new
control, the valleys of news are not captured when the button is pressed.
How to capture the most recent value in numerical order without waiting for the user to press ENTER after that that they typed in the value?
Two possible approaches to capture the value most recent inside a structure of the event:
(1) read the values of your digital controls in the case of events for the button. It is the simplest solution. If you need access to these numerical values in other cases of event, use the event to change value for these controls to update of the shift registers, or use a local variable.
(2) take advantage of the cause of the time-out period (if you are already using it you may need to do some creative re-use). Store the time-out value in register shift and set to default-1 so that he will not run. In your case of button, set the timeout to 0 shift register. Move your key event code in the case of timeout. LabVIEW will be re-read the values of your digital controls and the time-out event runs immediately.

Update of digital control with different values with array function
Hello
I have attached my code base. I want to execute the code for 2 sets of digital control with a gap between the two values, then pass it. Something like that
ABC
Initialize the P1 = 10; P2 = 20; P3 = 30; P4 = 40
Run the code
delay = 10ms
Update of P1 = 150; P2 = 200; P3 = 350; P4 = 500
Run the code
jump to abc
I am stuck how can I update the values of P1, P2, P3, P4? I thought about using a function table but couldn't go further.
Thanks for the help,
Ana
Hello Ana,
One way you might achieve what you are looking for is using property nodes. These property nodes will allow you to change the values of the block diagram control. You can set up a structure of case inside your loop that will change control through nodes of property value after a certain number of iterations. Here is a community sample that shows how to use the nodes property to change the Boolean controls:

Hi all
I have a digital control in a tab control. Both of them have their own events 'mouse-down' in a while loop. But when I click on the digital command, instead of raising the event of digital control only, both of these two events fired.
Maybe I can check if the mouse is in the range of digital technology to filter events, but if the window is resized, I have to recalculate the range once again.
Is there another way to do it?
I pasted the test code too.
Thank you!
Excerpts of work
Side note: I really don't like the controls on the tab and use them very rarely. And the few times I use them, it is for tabs to which I often use to select among the screws to put in a secondary school.

You can use the value of a digital indicator in a digital control?
Hello!
I have to develop a code where I need to find the maximum value of a waveform and draw a line at 50% of the value. So I chose find the amplitude of say 10 cycles of waveforms and found the maximum value of the amplitude.
But my real problem is, I have to use the maximum amplitude value I get from the table VI maximum and back into a program to calculate the value of 50%.
So it is possible to use the value of a digital indicator and put it in a digital control? As in MATLAB or C, you give a name to the variable and use it later to do all the calculations. Is it possible to do something similar in LabVIEW?

digital controls, by group of input values
Hi, I want to reduce the input values that a user can define a digital control, I know I can set it up to only accept a concrete range but in my case I want to only accept a group of values such as [1,8,22], for example.
Thank you!
Use an enumeration or a ring.

JDE display artifacts when editing
In 4.2, 4.5 and 4.6 JDE beta I have artifacts screen appearing when editing code.
Text appears to be dirty as this text with the line through it, with random amounts of bit noise. The effect occurs in controls such as the window of tree logs and output editor or project. Buttons menu and window borders are not performed.
It makes editing in the incredibly difficult JDE. I am running winXP on a dual monitor GeForce 6200...
The problem does not appear with other java IDEs such as Netbeans and Eclipse.
Everyone has found how to solve this problem?
Daniel
Please try to add the same parameter of the command line in the ide.bat file located in the installation directory BlackBerry JDE bin.

Display the field when it s a value.
Hello.
Am using jdeveloper, 11.1.1.6
I dragged and dropped my vo as an af:form. I have a field in the t as eedi_alter_intranet_id. I dropped like an Outputtext.
In my jsff page I need to display this value to my user when there is a value. If the value is null this output text does not display.
Thank you and best regards,
Prasad K T.Hello
Allows to hide the output for the Visible EL attribute text
Ex: visible = "#{bindings." Don't YOURFIELD.inputValue null}
{code}
no visible = "#{Bindings.eedialterintranetid.inputValue, null}" id = "ot180" "

ItemEditor valueCommit when editing in a datagrid control spark
I'm trying to get round head such things when editing in a DataGrid ItemEditor spark but having problems
I tried to put a flag in the data provider, if something has changed. but validating the value isn't going to get fired when the user changes a value:
"< GridColumn width ="140"headerText ="Margin (off)"headerText.editMode =" Margin (montage) "dataField ="margin"editable ="false"editable.editMode =" true ">
< itemEditor >
< fx:Component >
< DefaultGridItemEditor >
< valueCommit >
<! [CDATA]
this.data.isModifiedClientSide = 1;
[]] >
< / valueCommit >
< / DefaultGridItemEditor >
< / fx:Component >
< / itemEditor >
< / GridColumn >What do you think?
valueCommit isn't a bubbling event, so you probably need to listen to the specific element within the itemEditor that captures text entry.

LOV displayed as null when it has a value in session state
I use ajax to Dene Kubinek cascading select list example and it works fine. I have only one small problem. After the process of database update is running, and the page is refreshed the second selection list of with the null value when it has a value of 6 session state. Even if the database is updated with the correct value users will think that a null value has been updated because it shows - select Team - rather than the team that was selected.
How can I fix it? I have read dozens of threads on the forum about the cascading selection lists and none of them seem to address this issue. I followed messageID = 2803572. When I changed the first select list of a select list with submit it wouldn't work because the onchange process did not run.
It's very frustrating because the first select list contains the correct value in session state, and it is to show the selected value. I only have this problem with the second select list. I don't have two selection lists, one meets the other.
Here is the code for my second selection list:
SELECT TEAM_DESC, TEAM_ID
OF CEAH_TEAMS
WHERE UNIT_ID = NV(:P116_CENTER) or NV(:P116_CENTER) = - 1
I use the same code in another form and it works very well. The only difference is that the other form already has a value for the first list in the selection, so I didn't need additional code to check the value zero. If I don't check the null value (: P116_CENTER = - 1) I get a LOV error when the page initially loads.
Help. Thanks in advance, ElizabethSalvatore - brilliant! Of course.

Strange behavior when using units and controls the ring
Hello
Something unexpected occurs when you use a control of the ring with units:
- Create the control of the ring,
- change the representation of double
- display unit label,
- the value of mV as a unit,
- edit items
- disable the sequential values,
- Add an element with a value other than zero for example 123,
- Ok
- Select the value created,
- create a KPI DBL with V as unit,
- wire from the control to the indicator,
- run
What I see in the indicator is 123 V instead of the expected 0,123 V
You guys are able to reproduce this?
Noticed on LabVIEW 2013 and 2014, 32 and 64 bit on Windows 7 and 8.1
Thank you
Boris
Bring up the digital display of the command of the ring. You will see the units you enter under edit items menu is indeed volts. Any prefix to units only acts on the screen.

Is it possible to have explicit '+' sign to digital controls?
Hello
I was looking for a possibility to show the sign of a numeric value to digital controls, i.e. the control should display "-1.2345" or "+ 6.789" because this value will be added or subtracted another parameter value. "". " Accordingly, no sign, i.e. "6.789' is not meaningful in this case."
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any opportunity to do so (CVI8.5.1). I don't want to use a text control where this would be possible, because I have the up and down arrows to scroll upwards or downwards. I've missed something trivial - or is really not possible STD? Seems so simple and natural...
Thank you very much
Wolfgang
Hello Wolfgang,.
We will add this as a suggestion of product. In the meantime, have you tried to capture the top and bottom event keypress in the reminder of chain drive and increment/decrement the value yourself?
Moreover, you always expect to see a sign "+" when the control value is 0? Or no sign at all, in this case?
