Display of a .avi file problems

I deleted an important video out of my SD card and downloaded a program to retrieve it. The program has recovered the video, but I'm unable to watch the video on my computer now. I also tried to download a program that fixes damaged files, thinking that the video may have been damaged. This program sets the video, but I can still view the .avi file! When I try to open the file, Windows Media Player displays this error message: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file.

I clicked web help after this error message came, but wasn't able to figure out what to do to solve my problem. I need to download a different codec? Or is - this video never go to work? I am able to play my camera (that I don't delete and have to pick up) the other .avi files on my computer, but not those I could recover. Help, please! THIS VIDEO IS IMPORTANT FOR ME!

  • .avi file problems

    Hello

I have a file of VMWare Workstation instituted .avi.  The codec for this is VMnc and it is installed on my computer.

Specifically, the .avi will play in Windows Media Player v11, however, when I bring it in PEv7 the clip is black.  At some point, I have a part of the video, but he goes.

I have attached the file if you want to play with it.

    Can someone help me?

Unfortunately, having a CODEC installed on his system, it's just for reading. The change is totally different from the edition. The chances that a CODEC will allow editing are small.

I would look into the conversion of this file to a DV - AVI Type II w / 48 KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV. I use DigitalMedia converter, but there are freeware programs that do a good job too.

You can change some values in the registry. To do this, copy / paste the following text in Notepad, save it as a MP3WAVRecent.reg file and double-click this file to add it to the registry database:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMP11. AssocFile.MP3]

  • Optical display of AVI file stream

    Hello

I'm tring to display vectors of optical flow. AVI file. I work in the "Optical Flow.vi" example. I can't the optic to display flow vectors. To check if I have the right image formats, I've set up poster on the Panel before the 'current' and 'previous image', which are the inputs to the optic flow calculator. At the bottom of these views of the image, it is possible to see the image type. For some reason any "previous image" image continues to change its image type on the different loop iterations. In the current configuration, it is a 8-bit gray scale (as it should) for the 5 iterations 1 and pass then to an empty image of LGV. I don't understand why this is happening. I guess that's the reason that the optical flow vectors are not displayed correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Oscar.

The distribution of your image is messed up.  It must be remembered that they are pointers, not data.  You must use the current image from IMAQ copy of copy of the previous image instead of feeding in the shift register.  You probably have another image to the destination image when you convert your AVI image in grayscale.  Now, you convert the original image to AVI, so next time you read the file AVI it forces to match the format of the image (grey levels).

    Hello Jorstar1,

Thank you for your message.  Windows Media Player 11 supports .avi, but compression can dictate whether he will play or not.  This is very probably a Codec issue, you can perform a websearch for a Codec that will play any avi compression.
Please let us know if it did or did not help to resolve this problem.

  • AVI files - no video, only sound problem

    Hello!

I'm affected by some very strange and _very_ annoying problems with my Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 software - my. AVI files have no video.

I recorded a lot of video for a remake of the video on my camera: Toshiba Camileo X 100 HD (720p60frames).

I the play well in Windows Media Player and VLC Media Player and others, but when I import into first, I get only audio - video NO.

I've been searching around the Internet for a solution - but found - it really gets on my nerve as I look forward to edit my video .

The solution that would work, was Super (a conversion program) to download and convert my AVI files into MP4, h.264/AVC with AAC LC codec, but it will take years, and I'm also having difficulties in finding good quality video as the original file - ergo, I don't want to lose quality when converting. Convert all my files will take years - got about 10 GB - and I only see this as an emergency solution.

I bet that there MUST be a fix for this, and my AVI files may work correctly for Adobe CS5 first. I need help - please help!

    Thanks in advance!

p.s. I'll just say that I work with files before AVI, another project, but these cases recorded with FRAPS on my computer.

    There must be another solution!

There are; transcoding is a waste of time, space and quality:

    1. Download and install VLC.
    2. In the folder containing your AVI files, create a new text document, called "avi2mp4.bat" (without the quotes). Be sure he has the. BAT extension. you need to remove the. TXT extension, which is added by default.
    3. Paste the following text in the command file, and then save it:
      @ECHO OFF
      for %%a in (*.avi) do "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc" -I dummy "%%a" --sout=#:file{dst="%%~na".mp4} vlc://quit

    4. To run the package, simply double-click, or you can drag and drop the AVI files on it, and they will be repackaged as MP4s with the same name as the original. If you use the approach drag / move, you can save this file anywhere on your hard drive, and all the files dropped on it will be converted and placed in the same folder as the original.

That's all. The MP4s properly is important in the first, and you will no transcoding.

  • LabVIEW Vision will not create large AVI file

    Good afternoon

I'm having a problem with my camera data storage in an AVI file for further processing.

    Installation of equipment:

Camera of the Grey Gazelle edge

    2 cables of camera Link

    Card PCIe-1433

    Software:

    LabVIEW 2013

    Module vision 2013

    Computer:

    Dell Inspiron

    Windows 7 Professional

    NTFS drive - 1 TB

    16 GB OF RAM

X 4 PCIe bus does support speed

Now the camera captures approximately 280 fps.

I have a LabVIEW application that captures the image and writes it to an AVI file.

I use 1 buffer IMAQ and the loop runs so fast that he has an image to store.

I found the best performance using the codec uncompressed Y800 gray.

First series of tests, with only 8 GB of RAM.

When I run 10 seconds, everything is good.  I get about 2800 stored images.

When I tried to run for 20 seconds, it would go well for about 12 or 13 seconds and then go very slowly (50 images per second).

I assumed it was eating to the top of the available RAM.

So, I replaced the 8 GB of RAM with 16 GB.

Everything seemed to work as before.

I ran the routine of capture of data for 10 seconds, he collected all the images, everything is good.

I then tried to run entering data for 20 seconds.

It seemed to work very well, the image is displayed on the screen, the gauge of speed indicated that he was turning to about 280 fps.

When I open the AVI file, he had only 3846 stored images, about 13.7 seconds.

I ran once again, the capture of data for 30 seconds.

It seemed to work very well, the image was correctly displayed on the screen, gauge speed indicated that he was turning to about 280 fps.

When I open the AVI file, he had only 3846 stored images.

When I checked the hard drive directory, these two test files are the same size.

    2 065 819 KO.

With the NTFS file system, there should not be a limit to the size.

And the LabVIEW does not plant when she was doing writing to AVI function.

Y at - it a maximum size for the AVI file, I run in to?

    Or something else?

    Thank you
    Jeff

I have a setup of laboratory in which display us deflections of brain cells in a plate well after be pressurized with air of 50ms. I have a smart camera attached to a card PCI IMAQ to acquire images.

I'm saving the series of images in an avi file, so that I can show deviations in a slow video.

The way I put it in place at the present time takes an image and stores it in an avi pre-existing (some .avi randomly that I didn't need) format. But here are a few problems:
