Display of the Volume icon speaker on the taskbar

I can't view the Speaker Volume icon in my taskbar. When I go to the task and Start Menu Properties screen, the Volume Panel appears but is not active. When I click on Volume there is no answer or tick shown. Can you please tell how I can remedy this problem. Thank you very much.

You are welcome.

Follow these methods mentioned below and check.
Method 1: run a scan for viruses with Microsoft Safety scanner and check.

    Hi skier Craig,.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

Check if the problem persists in safe mode and post back with the results.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    Method 2

If the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    2. Type msconfig , and then click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears.
    3. Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services , and then click OK.

When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

    Method 3

If the steps above fail, then I suggest that you scan and remove any malware or computer virus infections and check if it helps.

    Hello!

Just today my laptop does not show an icon on the taskbar sound as it usually does. If you see in the right corner it usually an icon of the right? but mine is gone?
Can you help me how to get it back?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

You can still hear sound on speakers? If so the only problem could be the disabled sound icon in the taskbar. Therefore, go to control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Notification icons of the region. Make sure that the volume icon is not disabled and it will always be displayed in the taskbar.

If you can t hear you should check the Device Manager. The sound card is listed in the Device Manager?
If this isn't the case, you must reinstall the audio driver no doubt. You can download the driver from his most recent official website of Toshiba:
