Display stretched to Equium M50

I've been a bit stupid and lent on my keyboard by chance and I managed to activate the touch pad, zoom the screen and make it look like, it was crushed down and stretched on the side. I have fixed the zoom, but I can't not be tense. I tried to change the resolution, but making it tighter or thinner.
If someone can tell me what I can do I would really appreciate it!

My laptop is an Equium M50 with XP Home Edition.

Hello

I have to grin read your message ;)
In any case, I'll try to help you. I guess you have activated a special graphic option that must be found in the properties of the graphics card-> avancĪ˜s

One question; You have an Intel graphics card?

If so try to access the properties of the graphics card and advanced settings.
There, go to the Intel Graphic Media Accelerator.

In the device tab, you check if the option full screen (no border) has been selected and take a look at the Intel of Zoom utility. Just press the button.

  • Equium M50-192 - upgrade to Windows 7

I have an Equium M50 - 192, model No. PSM59E-003008AV, running on XP.
My PC is Windows 7 and I have two machines on the same OS.

Windows 7 Advisor on the Microsoft website shows that this M50 - 192 is suitable for an upgrade.
I have already increased the memory to 2 GB.

However, when I checked the Web from Toshiba site for pilots, there seems to be no driver Windows 7 for M50 - 192.

Means that I can not upgrade to Windows 7?

    Hello

Of course, you can install the Win 7 OS even if Win 7 drivers are not available for this unit.

From my experience the Win 7 automatically looks for drivers and in most cases, the drivers are automatically installed in my case I didn t need to install the display in addition driver Win 7 found the drivers during the installation and process installation

Hi my Equium M50-216 has lines across the screen and low who go up and down the screen.
There is no picture it s just white.

If I plug it into an external monitor I get a fine display on the monitor is so the screen is defective or something else?
I think that the inverter is ok because it of bright and not dull.

    See you soon

    I agree with Luke.

If the image on the external monitor is ok then the graphics card should be ok.
If an FL inverter would be defective then everything would be visible, but just a little more dark and as behind a fog

In your case, it looks like a display problem

I think you should ask a technician for replacement laptop

On my laptop, I have to do as described. If I first start the WinDVD and then switch the TV display I not able to see the film. Check it out.

Also, try to activate or disable recovery settings in the graphical properties. I don't know if it should be enabled or disabled as a result plays a bit with the m option.

    Hello

I completely agree with Akuma. If the same error occurs after installation of recovery it seems to be a graphics card problem.

Before turning to an authorized service provider, you should try to update the BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba site.

If the new version of the BIOS doesn't help, you need help from the ASP. Maybe the motherboard should be replaced.

  • How to reset my Equium M50-192 to factory settings?

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on my laptop.

My laptop is a Toshiba Equium M50-192 and I would like to reset to the factory settings (on the box).

I was advised by a friend that I need a recovery disk, but I don't seem to have one. Again, I have everything that came with the laptop when I bought it and have the different discs that came with it, but no recovery disk and have not been able to find the information I need the user manual.

Is there a way I can reset my laptop without a disc?

Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    > Is there a way I can reset my laptop without a disc?
It is not possible to reset to factory without reinstall drive settings. You have only one option: get Microsoft WXP installation disc and install the version of the OS.

All the drivers, which you can download from the Toshiba support page.
You can also try, it is to find if someone has the original disc of recovery for this machine and ask if you can get a copy.

  • Equium M50-216 - Question about the new facility

    Hello

Recently rescued a laptop Equium M50 of my flat mate. Was a little out of adjustment. She said that I might have as could not get on the internet and it seems to be missing some vital files.

Managed to get the wireless working again and little removed from the trash which was on it, but there are larger issues for example. Whatever it is USB I plug it will not install as there are no drivers on the HARD drive.

I think that it probably needs to be formatted and have Windows XP Home Edition reinstalled but I did not all discs for her and do not want to spend hundreds of new software to purchase for it. Please let me know what are my best options.

    Best regards

    Ed

    > have Windows XP Home Edition reinstalled, but I did not all discs for her
That s confusing you reinstalled Windows XP, but why you need the laptop drives? I mean if Windows XP is already reinstalled you can start with the installation of the driver. Everything can be downloaded on the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Your laptop is an older model so you should look for in * Archives *.

  • ODD on Equium M50 is not working properly

    Hello

Im having "problems" with reading DVD and CD on the DVD/CD drive internal on my Equium M50-192
During playback of the DVD images stutter and the audio is slightly out of synchronization with the video. During playback of the CD, it is slowly changing.

Have you tried different actors (Nero, Intervideo etc.) and all seem the same.
Have also tried an external drive and it seems to solve the problem for 99% of the time with the DVD (always get the occasional stutter) and CD plays OK.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Looks like your ODD has a hardware problem that must be fixed by a technician from toshiba which means you need to bring your machine to an authorized service partner.

Then I suggest you visit the following link:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=ASP_SUPPORT

Choose your ASP which is nearest in your area and then let do them the rest.

  • Equium M50-216: cannot save or use the microphone or "phone entries

I have an Equium M50-216, with 1 GB of RAM & Centrino 1.7 GHz processor, running XP Home.

Without apparent reason, I am suddenly unable to use my SKYPE USB ' phone to talk. Audio output is perfect, however.

I also tried my helmet using the jack on the front of the laptop, with the same result.

I downloaded and installed the latest driver for the sound card, which is a Realtek AC97. I tried the test equipment of Windows, but there is no evidence of entry he built in sound recorder, audio, or in windows.
The device driver is properly enabled and reported no problems.

Is it a hardware problem - as it seems card works OK for output?
Is it a Windows problem - I can achieve a reformatting the drive & re-install of XP soon - it would help?

    Roger.

    [email protected]

    Hello

As far as I understand your problem, you are not able to use the external microphone. Am I wrong?
You mean that it's a hardware problem, hmmm I n t think so.
To me, it looks like a wrong setting

Please check if the microphone is activated. This should be verified in the--> sound & audio devices Control Panel.
On the volume tab, press the Advanced button.

In the options settings, you can switch between the playback volume controls & record.
    Please check everything!

  • Screen on my Equium M50 problem

    Hello

new here so please bear with me.

I have an Equium M50, recently the screen has gradually turned white, then move you the angle and it goes back normal tro, this wasent a major problem, BUT it's not all white. IM guessig its probably a cable issue, but uncertain and help or advice would be appreciatted and wouldn't be a repair I could finish?

    Mark

    Hello

It s not easy to say if he e only one loses the cable or a serious hardware problem.
I don t think you have enough experience and tools to solve this problem yourself.

I mean that you need to check if the Fl inverter is ok and that the laptop computer s screen is not affected. How do check you this?

In my opinion it s advisable to ask a technician for laptop computer to help him.
Therefore, it would be advisable to contact the ASP in your country for a control of the laptop.

    Good bye

  • Equium M50-164: Question about timer use & battery fan

    Hello!!

Just put your hands on my laptop equium m50-164 today and I wanted to clarify a few issues

    first of all,

I flashed my bios with the latest version and after restarting, fan kicks at full power and has not extinguished until I put the laptop in standby mode, this seemed to fix the problem but fan seems suddenly in much more than compared to before, fortunately the fan isn't the one 100% , but more like 15-20% every 30 seconds or one minute then goes into silent mode the fan does not reach 100%, unless I have do a reboot :),.

I know the fan will accelerate faster based on the use of the processor (thermal) etc. but is this normal? I talked to support and they wanted me to have an immediate replacement, but I said that I would wait a few days to see if she could calm :)

and finally looking at the electricity meter and other software tools there seems to be no calibration of the battery, with previous laptops, I noticed that numeric calculations are made based on the use of the battery and time [i.e. a timer] but with this laptop that I kind find a timer - I would of thought tha any computer laptop has this facility today!

    any advice would help

    see you soon

    Ephid0r UK

    Hi ephid0r

If the Toshiba service makes an instant replacement if you should take it.
Maybe there's something wrong with the hardware or software.

But as Feliks has suggested, you must first reinstall the Toshiba Power Manager.
This utility is responsible for the CPU and the cooling module activations.

PS: The time of battery life indication occurs if you move the cursor over the icon of standby power.
