Display the restore disk utilities

I fell really stupid to post this question (as I burned the disks using the "disk utility" for 10 years and more), but I can't understand what is wrong. I have an iMac end of 2014 running version 10.11.2.

I opened a disc image I had created, and then open disk, but instead of display utilities familiar (with the options of "first aid" or a "burn"), I got a window that I had not seen before, giving information on the hard drive.

The 'new' display is less to:

Any suggestion about how to return the screen to its previous form will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Gary

  • create the restore disks

I need to create the system restore for my laptop disks.  It is running vista Home premium.  The computer works fine I just never created recovery discs when I got it.  Thanks for any help.  Mike b

The procedure varies according to the manufacturer if you need to contact them for further information and guidelines.  Recovery options are performed by the manufacturer - not Microsoft.  We have no access to information to help you.

I'm sorry, we can't be more helpful - but we simply don't have the information.

    I'm sure they'll help you.

  • I copied the restoration disk sector and now that I want to use them, they are corrupt. I need a replacement copy

I have a laptop with Windows Vista, I had a D: sector which was the top backup program. I copied and deleted for space and now I tried to use the disks and they are corrupt and unusable. Is it possible to get a download or copy to reinstall Windows Vista on my laptop and start again.

    Hello

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • S5-1060 casing dvd player does not recognize the Bluray disks after you restore windows 7

I have a s5-1060 casing with a HP DH12E3LH bluray player, recently the computer was so I took out the restore disks and just do a fresh install of windows 7, it works fine now, BUT the only thing I can't understand is why my bluray in unity player not to see, recognize or play blurays now.

The Device Manager shows the best drivers are already installed (21/06/2006 microsoft 6.1.7601.17514 driver), and he will play CD, DVD, just does not recognize a bluray disc.  I might say, we watched top of 25-30 movies on it so I 'hope' is not burned or something altogether.

It indicates that the device is working properly in Device Manager he calls it a cdrom drive (not sure if it matters), but with a bluray in the drive, it shows under properties / status / no media in the drive.

I'm not really sure where to start on this, drivers seem strange to be so old, is it a firmware I can update if so where can I get that info, I went to the hp site let it detect the computer saw the driver updated but nothing which was directly related to the cdrom drive.

Thanks for any help on this just stumped at this point, as it was working before the full restoration to the computer using the recovery disks, then there must be something simple.

    Hello FTLOSM,.

I understand that after making your computer your Blu - ray discs won't play in Windows 7. I'm you provide a document from HP support: solve the DVD and Blu-ray movie problems (Windows 7) that will guide you through the troubleshooting steps to resolve this problem. I would focus on the topic impossible to watch movies in Blu-ray 3D. I am also you provide the link to the Drivers of HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1060 desktop PC page.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • restore disks

I have two identical HP computers (Pavilion d4890y).  We have a failed hard drive.  Whatever the restore disks I use to rebuild the new hard drive?  They are not labelled differently.

Here are the specifications and configurable options for your desktop HP Pavilion d4890y. If ordered them in the same way, then no descendants using a set of HP recovery disk. If they were ordered with different configurations, there may be issues when you use the wrong set of HP Recovery Disc. You can compare the recovery discs to see if they are same... simply display the disks in your computer and compare this file counts and space used on each drive.

  • HP OEM Vista restore disks work after installing Windows 7 RC?

The title of the post pretty much everything says. I would like to try the Windows 7 RC, but I also wish I could go back to Vista, at some point. It seemed that the restore disks did not have a complete reinstall the last time (it resets windows pretty quickly). If I load Windows 7 RC, I'll be able to use my restore disks from HP to postpone Vista on my system?

    Thank you

    Pete

If your specific working set of restore disks really depends on if they were created successfully; However, a set of disks of restoration work should certainly work. At least with my CL Pavillion DV-4-1287, Recovery Manager also continued to work after an upgrade to Windows 7, then a reinstallation via clean install without shaped.  Initially, he works with none of the additional steps, in the second, I just need to copy the application on of c:windows.old\program files (x 86) \sminst.  Unless you have reason to do so, while a clean install is the best route, I wouldn't do a format with a clean install, since all your drivers are stored in the Windows.old folder and (dependent on model) the swsetup folder.  Windows 7 can not find the drivers for all devices (five in my case) but on my machine all drivers Vista has of worked - just needed to point the manual driver update function to the appropriate folded equal windows.old or swsetup. BTW, while drivers Vista came with my laptop running Windows 7, the same is not true for some recent updates on the website.

Oh, one last thing would be to update the BIOS before installing Windows 7 from the Flash of the bios Setup program is not yet certified for Windows 7 (no surprise since it's always a BONE development)...

  • File corrupted on the restore disc.

My restore disk has a corrupted file. The file is ISSetup.dll. It is Macrovision and version 12.0.0.58851. I don't particularly want to buy a new set of disks, if anyone has this version of the file that they could email me? It is of my HP Pavilion Slimline S3431.uk. The exact location of the file is D:\hp\apps\APP11568\src.

    Thanks for your help.

I hope that you don't have to pay for the record

Since that she may not have properly burn the disc

    correctly

but the creation of restore disks is a time

burning and good for making copies

and even if isn't properly without you probably burn

know that the rest is bad too

but once you get the restore disc sent to

make you a copy for insurance

and you mine to give a scenario

My cat scratched the OS disk and

    to reinstall was unnecessary and

has no luck with it, but now with these

Windows disk is protected against copying I doubt

You can make a backup copy

but once you've made a copy of the restore disk

and place your original in a course

  • I had to run restore disks to bring my XP Pro machine to its original shape - SP2. Now update usually run at all. I get errors 80240036 and 8024400 a, but help posted forum didn't workked

The machine is running XP Pro version 2002 service pack 2 out of the box.  I kept it updated regularly for 4 years.  A week ago Windows Update stopped running.  Then he completely froze and wouldn't start windows at all.  I took it to the dealer and their technician said all they could do was to apply the restore disks.  I did and now windows is up and running, except of course the software is obsolete way and will not support my existing programs and practices.   Immediately I clicked to run windows update, but it will not run.  I get a 8024400 error each time and if I can try to help, contact option do too with the 80240036 error.

I tried following a community solutions Center/kb/555461 article but in vain.  There is no iuctl.dll file and no wutemp or v4 folder.

    At this point, I'm stumped.

I had the same problem, they say that it is because of communication problems, etc, but my internet connection is fine.  I solved it download SP3 from: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=24 I had troubled 'save' the file so I clicked on 'Run' and updated my windows, then Windows Update worked as usual.

  • Change of material and restore disk problem

    Hello

I have a HP 3015MT desktop computer next to me that I recently had to replace the motherboard (part no HP) and the hard drive because of the failure. For this reason, I can't use all of the restore disks supplied with the PC. When I try, I get an error indicating that the restore disks are intended only for HP machines. I don't have a spare OS license (do not have a volume contract). -What can I do to get this working or I'll just have to buy a new license? Preferably, I don't want to go this route that we still mainly use XP and I don't want to roll a Win7 machine for 1 user.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you

    Paul

If you replaced the motherboard of your computer desktop with a card mother no HP then it is no longer a HP PC. Recovery software examines the BIOS for a tattoo of HP. A card mother HP no won't tattoo of eligible product.

The operating system license is only valid for the HP product, with which it was delivered.

Sorry to give you bad news.

  • Restore disk will not work need a windows copy XP where can I find one?

My hardrive broken so I am new and my restore disk does not work where can I get a version of windows to put it on a floppy disk and use it on my computer OSless.

    XP has disappeared.

your best bet is to work with the manufacturer of your laptop, maybe they xp on their shelves.

also, the restore disks may require specialty measures to run for them to be activated.

so for the two cases above, visit your computers home site and look for the model number of your laptop for the faq on the help of restore disks / recovery discs / factory restore.

by the way, how broken is the old hard drive?

He must have a hidden section on it with all the preserved original software which can be used to restore the hard disk.

but this section could also be copied into the new HDD as well, according to which 'broke' implies.

by the way, is that the technician who replaced your hard drive take a look at the restore disks too?
