Can anyone tell if the display port on the all-in-one is a size standard, micro or whatever?

Thank you very much

  • Desktop HP Pavilion p620y needs of 2560 x 1600 PCIe 2.0 x 16 DisplayPort video card

    Hi all

I bought a HP Pavilion p6210y PC November 1, 2009;  and also, just bought a new monitor 30 inches of HP ZR30w which displays 2560 x 1600 (4 megapixels). To use it, I have to buy a new video card in 2560 x 1600 PCIe 2.0 x 16 DisplayPort. No problem, there are many like that high-end gaming cards. However, I am not a "Gamer" and do not need the performance beyond its high-end business use, a few Blue-ray movies and occasional sports coverage. This need corresponds to the remaining available power of 300 watts of p6210y power supply.

I have set up a 'power budget' for the new disks and memory that I bought, which gives me a power rating of base to work since I sail PCIe 2.0 x 16 DisplayPort video cards. However, I was not able to locate an estimate of drain of power for the "configuration of the showroom" Pavilion p6210y PC base that I bought in 2009. Can someone help me find this number, or show me how to estimate it? I need just an approximate number to work with.

I do not have the number of the power you want, but we have here on the forum use the power required by the manufacturer.  Here is a video card that should work on your computer:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814130795 & cm_re=evga_gt640-_-14-130-795-_-Product

However, it requires a power supply (PSU) with 350W.  You can find this information in the specifications tab.

Many newer cards need UEFI instead of a standard BIOS.  These cards will not work in your computer.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.

However, it seems that the s5-1020 only has a VGA output. This means that the resolution should be substantially the same, but it will not support HDCP (content protection high def).

    Hi there @LeoOfMars

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you are looking to find out if a video card is compatible with your information system. I'm happy to help you with that.

The main reasons to be sure of are normally feeding you, special (to THE) cable power supply for the graphics card, on the motherboard compatible expansion slot, the drivers for your operating system, another thing to know is the physical size of the map, for moments of cases.

Looking at the specs of your system and the motherboard by default, I listed the type of slot of power and expansion.

HP Pavilion Elite e9180t Desktop PC product specifications and configurable Options

Output power of power: 460 Watt

HP and Compaq desktop PC - specifications of the motherboard, IPMTB-TK (Truckee)

Two graphics PCI Express 2.0 x 16 (for graphics cards)

Go to the video card you are looking at:

    GTX 780 3072 MB GDDR5 PCI-E 3.0 OC Custom cooled graphics card

    Input power: 1 x 8-pin auxiliary input aux input 1 x 6-pin
    Bus type: PCI-Express 3.0 16 x

    System requirements:
Mother compatible PCI Express with a slot of chart double-width x 16
Power 600W minimum (with a minimum of 12V current rating of 42A) 3
300 MB of available disk space
2 GB of memory system (4 GB or more recommended)
Microsoft Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP Operating System (32 or 64-bit)
DVD-ROM drive or Internet connection for installation
DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA compatible monitor

So on a quick inspection of both devices there are three problems, so this card will not work on your motherboard or with the current power.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP pavilion 15 laptop double monitors

I bought a HP Pavilion TS 15 Notebook PC thinking I could plug it into a docking station and have two monitors, a keyboard, a mouse and a keyboard to use as a desk in my home office.

Is it possible to use this template with a docking station?

If so, what is the appropriate one?

If this is not the case, how can I do to always reach my intetions desired without having to return my laptop for just a desktop computer?

    Thank you.

Yes, you could configure to make it work. You simply need to change your power settings so that when you close the lid on the laptop, it did nothing, instead of normally put the laptop mode 'sleep'. In addition, port replicator most, I see are HDMI port. If you would either require again to use the HDMI port on the laptop or get a DisplayPort cable to the second monitor.

  • Running 4 monitors 1920 x 1200 on a Pavilion Elite I7 desktop PC (a double graphics - GTS 250 cards)

Update (November 14, 2011): there is a happy ending at the bottom of this thread. In a Word, I needed to upgrade my 700W power and install a ~ XFX HD 6870 (AMD/ATI) $ 200 video card, connect 2 monitors to 6870's connectors 2 mini DisplayPort and connect the other 2 monitors to 6870's DVI connectors.

In the original post, I went to get a second GTS 250 but I was able to do it with a single card.

    Original message:

I have already noticed that my system (HP Pavilion Elite e9180f desktop PC) supports dual Nvidia GTS 250 in the thread next where I'm looking for advice for upgrading my system to 4 monitors:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-monitors-and-video/how-do-I-upgrade-my-Pavilion-to-4-monitors/t...

I need to buy a second card Nvidia GTS 250, but they are hard to find.

The 250 GTS that came with the PC has 1 GB or RAM on it. I've only been able to find a 250 GTS with 512 MB of RAM above. Both cards will co-exist on my system if I can run 4 monitors?

I'm tempted to just bite the bullet and order 2 new cards as the GTS 250 that I find can take up to two weeks to get.

Can anyone recommend a modern replacement model for the GTS 250 (1 GB RAM) I can buy 2 and then installed in my machine (Elite e9180f) with a minimum of hassle?

I ordered (and received) a new PSU POWER 750 watt and 3 additional monitors to 24 "(et un stand)."

    Thank you

Because I'm a spread for the penalty, I went ahead and ordered the XFX HD 6870 and returned the XFX HD 6850.

Only after you have installed the 6870 I realized this video card requires 2 PCI express power connectors. Of course, my stock PSU only has a PCI express slot so I went down to Staples and bought a power supply 700W (a RetailPlus PS700W). I installed myself (without the help of a technician that I had seen what the technician had to do when I hired one to try to replace the stock power supply with a Corsair 750W) and it worked. It was last Thursday and the machine works since then.

The 3 HP ZR24w monitors I ordered came with a regular DisplayPort cable but I needed 2 Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable. I have ordered them to my place of local parts (OEM Express) and they came today.

I plugged praying them, and then they played.

So to get 4 monitors running a single card, I had to put my diet to 700 watts, install a XFX HD 6870 (it's a Radeon ATI/AMD with 2 x connectors DVI, an HDMI connector and mini 2 DisplayPort connectors) and order 3 HP ZR24w monitors. 2 monitors should be connected via the adapter mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cables and the other 2 are connected via DVI.

From what I can tell, HD 68 x series video cards can drive only 2 DVI monitors at a time and if you need at least 2 aswell able DisplayPort monitors.

  • Elite L2201 monitor can be used with desktop Pavilion a1040n?

Help!  I bought a L2201x21.5 inch LCD monitor elite and can not find a way to plug on my Pavilion a1040n desktop computer.  If this is not possible there is some sort of adapter that I use to make my new monitor works with my flag?  Thank you.

Long story short... N ° your HP Pavilion a1040n desktop computer is over 7 years old, and his LRTP-(Goldfish3) motherboard does not support PCIe x 16 current graphics cards which have a correct output for your monitor. The monitor has an entry "DisplayPort" and therefore requires a computer with "DisplayPort" output to drive.

  • How to get to 2560 x 1600 with HP Pavilion dvt7?

I have a HP Pavilion dvt7 laptop.  I would like to connect to a 30 "HQHD Display Port, HDMI, DVI - D, PC monitor with a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 (via Display Port or DVI - D).  Is this possible and if yes, by which ports and/or adapters for the resolution of 2560 x 1600?  The machine has an express card slot.  Can I use an expresscard to USB 3.0 adpater, then use a usb 3.0 adapter displayport and connect to the displayport monitor?

    Hi isbjorn66,

I was hoping to get the exact specifications of your model number of the product. The problem is that your model is CTO or configure to order but also many NVIDIA graphics cards available with your model to support 2560 x 1600. Your best bet would use the HDMI as it will also take care of your sound.

    Thank you

  • Monitor of 22xi HP Pavilion showing the Green tint on the right side

I've had my Pavilion 22xi for about 8 months now and everything has been fine until a few days ago when a green tint has appeared on the right side of the screen. A pink ghosting of my web browser can also be seen in the upper right when, on a dark background. I use the monitor as a second monitor connected to a macbook via a connector mini displayport HDMI /. The problem occurs on mac and windows.

I changed the HDMI cables, checked the connections, reset the monitor to factory settings, read through the HP troubleshooting tips and try the monitor with another computer, but the same problem persists.

I think there is an error with a monitor, but I wanted to ask if there was anything that I'm missing or a solution before contacting HP support.

Hi Kojiri, sorry to hear that you are having problems with your screen display. One thing that I know that I had problems with was that I have a subwoofer near the monitor and it caused the screen to change the color. I also noticed a slight change in color when I had my base of wireless phone, sitting on the desk next to the screen. Now if this isn't the case for you, I suggest that you please click on the link I provided and try the document that solves the problems of different screen.

If you are still having problems with the screen, please let me know and I'll be happy to help you further.

I just bought a hp pavilion 23-b010 all-in-one desktop computer... can I connect it to an external monitor? and if so, are there special requirements for the external monitor?

Here are the specifications of your all-in-one HP Pavilion 23-b010 computer office. According to the specifications, this computer has no video output of any kind ports (DisplayPort, VGA, DVI, or HDMI). You will need to purchase and use a USB-to-video as the EVGA UV adapter more + UV39 or UV19 to connect an external monitor to your computer.

I need a cable Extension Mini DisplayPort for my Mac Pro 2009 and Cinema Display 24 "so I can move my turn more away from the screen.

  • Can I see HD using Mini DisplayPort?

I have a MacBook Pro with thunderbolt port and an iMac with mini DisplayPort. The iMac has a broken screen. Can I use the hd to the iMac using the thunderbolt port (and a cable thunderbolt course) MacBook pro mini displayport to iMac?

    Thank you

    Hello Alt - Max,

If I understand this correctly, then I'm afraid, you can't. What I understand is that your iMac is broken and you want display MacBook Pro screen on this subject. If your iMac is broken, then you can not do this. However if your iMac is not broken, so here are the steps to configure the target display mode: use your iMac as a display with the target - Apple Support Display Mode

  • How to connect to DisplayPort and fresh?

    Hello

I think to buy the new Macbook from 2016.

When I'm at home I would like to use it as a desktop machine so I have to be able to plug in a monitor DisplayPort, USB HDD, wireless mouse and keyboard dongle and load the Macbook at the same time. Is there a USB Type-C dock that would allow me to do this?

The dongle that apple provides is only HDMI (my monitor has HDMI but he's busy). I thought that the implementation of USB Type-C supports DisplayPort? He has to like Apple sell USB Type-C cable DisplayPort. So, why don't the dock adapter / provides DisplayPort? DisplayPort is the most versatile because it can be easily and cheaply, be converted to VGA or HDMI, but you can do the opposite without an active converter expensive.

    Thanks for your help.

There is no such thing as a Mini Display Port cable USB - C. Apple.  They have USB - C for USB, USB - C for Multi HDMI port and USB - C for Multi VGA.

If you need to use a Mini Display Port display and charge at the same time, you will need a dock. currently only Dell made a dock USB - C with Mini display port.

Recently, I started thinking of owning a good monitor k 4 for my MBP and I were just interested, if you have cable thunderbolt 2, are you able to use it to the monitors that accept mini Displayport? The port looks like it will work and will work. Thank you.

Yes, love at first sight includes the mini-Display port output and two ports have always been identical, since they evolved from the same technology.

Just transplanted a SSD internal in a 2008 Mac Pro (who had two DVI input) in a most powerful 2009 Mac Pro (which has a DVI input and two mini Displayport inputs). Trying to connect two monitors, as well as the DVI input is fine but entered Minies Displayport do not seem to be working anymore, and I guess that this is related to the hard drive, as the mini Displayports were fine before the operation. Any advice on how to get these to work require a clean wipe and install Mac OS X?
