Displays 64 bit Vista a vacuum of the screen and is unresponsive, requiring the hard stop

I have laptop HP dv5 using AMD Turion (TM) RM of Mobile of Core Dual 72 using Vista 64-bit service pack 2. Recently, the system will display a white screen (grey) in a variety of situations, and if the hard drive does something, I can't get an answer and got to hold my power button to get a hard stop.

Then, I repair at startup problems and the computer will only start in safe mode before allowing a normal startup...

I don't know the cause.  I use two systems software malicious (or found nothing) and used Kaspersky... never found nothing.  I uninstalled Kaspersky because I don't think that it has never installed right firstly on that pc, now have bases of millisecond.  (I even if maybe that Kaspersky did something every time it updated.)  But I have a question.

This sometimes happens if I leave my computer and it will sleep... sometimes if I open a file and sometimes opens a Web page on which

What should I check?   I am at a loss what to do... .other have obtain a new machine, as happens several times whenever I use it.

Thank you

  • Satellite L - Vista does not recognize the HARD drive

OK, I have spent the last 5 days or more trying and do not install vista on the laptop miserable with no chance and ive finally succumb to ask for help here.

Does anyone know what driver I need to use to allow Vista to recognize the SATA drive? I got some drivers download Toshiba chipsets article section and put it on a USB key, but they do not work. I get the message "Windows cannot locate the disk media to install windows" or a similar message. If I load all the drivers, then its just total failure - Windows installation procedure says that it cannot find the target medium or such a message. He develops files, loads the files and then stops and gives this message. There are all sorts of other stupid messages that would normally make me want to take the / offending laptop and throw it out the window. Needless to say, has not yet happened.

Also does computer some odd scratching / clicking noises during installation - it seems to come under the laptop - looks like it's either a problem with the hard drive or DVD drive, or both. I get up then a blue "Material error" message screen of death

I know it's not nice to go and my error messages are a bit vague (I must have spent countless hours installation and got so many error messages to send me brain dead mode) but thought id just ask to get some ideas - thank you.

You can install windows without use drivers SATA.

  • Dell XPS 420 with Vista Home Premium, replaced the hard drive, download now blue screen errors

My girlfriend has a desktop Dell XPS 420 quit working a year or 2 ago. A computer technician told me that it sounded as if the hard drive was bad, recently I purchased from Dell, a Seagate 1 TB hard drive (the original is a Western Digital 320 GB).

I bought also, once again from Dell, a copy of its installation discs for Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

I installed the new hard drive, correctly, as far as I can tell, but I tried several times over the past days to install Vista and a few times I got errors (BSoD) STOP and a few other times, Windows Installer errors.

    What's wrong?

I run Dell diagnostics that took almost a whole day, but I don't think anything. I have not partitioned the hard drive, it's like 931 GB.

I think that may be something related to the RAM, but I'm not sure.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Tecra S3: Installation of Vista does not recognize the HARD drive

I try to install Vista Ultimate on my Tecra S3, but installation does not recognize the HARD drive.

I tried to find the driver for Vista for my computer, but not found RAID.
Tried it with XP drivers, but no longer works.

Do you have an idea where I can download Vista drivers for RAID?

    THX

    Hello

Your suggestion is good. The Tecra S3 supports the RAID, and the RAID driver is required to install the OS on the HARD drive.
On the European driver Toshiba page I found a RAID for XP driver.

I put t know if this driver will run under Vista, but I recommend to test.
The RAID XP 1.3.8.0 driver version can be downloaded from this site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

Please note; You can store the RAID driver on an external USB and Vista should recognize it!

  • Can I use easy transfer of the hard disk Vista for 64-bit Windows 7 computer?

My computer laptop 32 bit vista is dead, but the hard drive is intact.  I can access it using a disk blacx disk drive hard usb.  All files seem to be good.  I gave the disc all permissions for changes, etc., so that it is not just to read only.  He sees my new laptop running windows 7 64 bit.  I found files in the record Office of the old drive so that part works.

I tried to use easy transfer in windows 7.  Installed on the old disk of vista.  But I can't launch the vista easy transfer since this computer is dead.

Is there a way I can transfer my emails, photos, documents and the itune files?

    Thank you.

You can use Knoppixhttp://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (made on a different computer).  This should give you sufficient access to the Vista system 'dead' (if you can not get in any other way) backup/transfer your important data (like everything else you mentioned) to the one you use (an external hard drive, flash player,...). You will not be able to save your settings or your programs because they require the enforcement system to use easy transfer and regular functions copy and paste will do the trick. If Knoppix doesn't work, try slaving the hard drive to another computer, and then after the data you want to save it.

    I hope this helps.

The product key OEM genuine original of my software to 32-bit with service pack 1 (that I bought and installed on my computer) allows to switch from a 32-bit Vista Ultimate installation to a 64-bit Vista Ultimate installation on the same computer without changing the motherboard?

Microsoft 64-bit replacement drive has been obtained from Microsoft with the 32-bit version (which is currently installed) after some intractable problems found by the Microsoft Tech support in my OEM 32-bit software with service pack 1.

I'll be able to do an online activation?

    Thank you.

    Hello

You should check with Support to be sure. Normally the 32-bit and 64-bit key can
be used on the same system. Of course, you need to install the 64 who will wipe away
the installation of 32-bit. The key you should however work to check better
with that which supplied the disc. The manufacturer of your system can also provide input.

    I hope this helps.
