Dllhost.exe surrogate COM slow down the computer using the memory

Hello

I could really use some help if anyone has the time. :-)
My computer behaves strangely since I made a restore point.
I did the restore point because I could not get online, oddly enough it turned out to be a loose wire.
Anyway, now there is an application that keeps popping up in my task manager using most of my cpu, so my
computer bogged down. It is named dllhost.exe COM surrogate and when I opened its location
He was in my folder windows32. It is not my services that I can see, but it seems to be bound to play
video or music files. I could be wrong.
I did the usual antivirus (avast free edition free antivirus and malwarbytes) analysis, I defragmented
my computer, I did a scan of system, I did a scan of the memory...  I can't understand.
Any suggestions?
My computer has 16 GB of installed RAM and 1 TB HDD I am running Windows 7
Professional 64-bit.
Thank you in advance.  :-)

I did go to the task manager of windows, processes, sort them alphabetically by the description column, you can list by going to display and select column, and then down to the substitution of com and do a right-click and choose end process... you may need to do more than once... This will remove at least for awhile... it is mainly used to display thumbnail pictures in my photo folder... you can the delete permanently, but then you would not have miniature photos...

After that research around these things, I noticed happen when this noise starts and the CPU going nuts:

-Under Internet Security my settings changed on their own to custom

(I then change them back only to have this all happen again minutes later)

-When this is happening and I'm going under dllhost.exe Task Manager suddenly over 15 years * 32 Com alternatives pop up all at the same time

I do stop by changing my Internet Security properties to default and putting an end to the tree of processes all the dllhost.exe * 32 Com substitutes.

Then, about 5 or 10 minutes later it happens again. This has happened in recent days.  I ran safely scan and it found some VirToolWin32 - CeeInject.gen! KK (linked in Adobe Updater). This VirTool:MSIL/injector.BF has been removed but all that I mentioned above is still ongoing.

  • Dllhost.exe * 32 - Com Surrogate

From October 18, 2014 Windows Update, my task manager will show perhaps 30 cases of dllhost.exe * 32 - COM Surrogate, consume 100% of CPU and about 6 GB of RAM.

I ran: Norton Full Scan, Emsisoft Anti-Malware, Norton Power Eraser and Microsoft Malware removal. Found nothing even the slightest threat. I also ran "sfc/scannow" at the command prompt. He fixed a single file in the audio driver, nothing else.

If I reboot and open the Task Manager but nothing, the problem may not start for a while. But if I open Windows Explorer, it starts immediately, crushing system with dllhost.exe * 32 - Com Surrogate

I've seen a lot of comments online about the same topic. But nobody seems to have a definitive solution, or find the cause.

If you are familiar with this issue and have a solution, please share. :)

I had the same problem and here is how I fixed it:

I went in C:\Windows and the SysWOW64 folder right click and choose PROPERTIES.

I clicked SECURITY and click ADVANCED to give me ownership of this file. then I went back to SAFETY and gave myself (as admin) full control of this file. Then I deleted the file dllhost in the SysWOW64 folder and rebooted. The problem was gone.

You will probably need to open Windows Task Manager, check the box "Show processes from all users" and continually with the right button to COMPLETE the PROCESS to stop the offending files of dllhost in order to achieve this, but it will work.

Unless you are logging in to each account and switching between them - have each user run a lot of things.  Now * that * could slow down the computer.

  • Games slow down a computer?

I played Command and Conquer 4 on my computer very old. It can be played, but the graphics are bad and it is very slow. If I continue to play the computer may crash. So I had planned to play on my new computer. But my parents do not allow that. Reasons are

    1. Games can have viruses.
    2. Viruses can hack into my computer and get information, such as bank accounts. (I installed Bitdefender 2010 IPSec)
    3. Games make my computer unreliable and slow.

Can you check for me if these reasons are true. I know too many games running at the same TIME will be a slow computer. But what happens if my requirements meet the minimum requirements for the games, it slows down the computer? Also, I defrag and cleaning my PC regularly so do not understand that my computer will do to appear slowly over a short period of time (1 year).

Hello TechKid.  Feel free to forward this message to your parents *.

    (1) their original CD-ROM or DVD-ROM games will not have the virus.  Back in the olden days where game was on a disk that it was possible that a set of second hand could have been infected, simply because the disks could be written after the fact.  Actually I've ever met.

    (2) a bit, (but still once falsely assume original games of detail will virus), in practice, they are much more wet than that.  Decent anti-malware and ensuring your machine and all the software connected to the internet is updated will solve this problem.

    (3) not true.  While the game is running, they are obviously fewer resources for other things.  But once the game has been closed it will not use all of the system resources.  In regard to making them unreliable, more wrong.

    * It won't do anything, they don't want to play you games on this machine, they will come with any excuse for this purpose.

Anyway on this system, I think that you should always keep the graphics on their low settings, the graphics card is a budget card, not suitable for games.
