DMA2200 Media Center records videos play hurt

I record video (standard videos not HD - Windows Movie (.dvr-ms)) at the media center help and DMA2200 has sync issues while playing them on my TV.  Finally, they play with disaggregation of now and again.  Fast forward/skip if they go through a synchronization upwards (out) and then play a little normally.  I get network error message even though I'm on a wired network with very little traffic.  The diagnostic says I'm in great shape and can do HD videos.

If I play a movie MPEG2 on the Extender, without stuttering, breaks, etc. and I can jump and quickly send very well.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, Roland

rwkmann, which is the software that you have found? It automatically converts the video? Or you have to do it manually and then watch them on your 2200?

In addition to the response of Santosh, please relay if the problem occurs when you play a DVD or a single. Please also relay if the same problem occurs when you try to play the DVD with Windows Media Player.

In addition, if you have an extra DVD decoder installed, then try to update the DVD decoding software.

Windows Media Center record regular shows without problem until last week. Now I have to manually press record for each show, because the Scheduler is almost completely useless, the TV signal is absolutely perfect. Once I pressed record manually, it records very well.

In regular history, the error is not recorded: no TV Signal

This is simply not true. I noticed that this can happen, in particular, to the HD recordings. But the signal is always good.

I tried to delete the programmed recording file but no change.

  • Windows Media Center won't play video, but Windows Media Player will be?

I'm reading a video .avi with the xvid codec. I installed the codec earlier and it plays fine in Windows Media Player, but when I try to play in Windows Media Center, it indicates that one or more codecs are required to play this file, but they cannot be found. I know I would just watch with Windows Media Player instead of Media Center, but I want to watch it on my Media Center extension (my Xbox). I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate, 64-bit. Why does Windows Media Player with this codec and Windows Media Center not work? How can I solve this problem?

    -Slick05_1

    Hi Slick05_1,

Thanks for the replies on the forum.

Given that the Microsoft Vista Media Center and XBOX do not play the files suggest it would need to be a codec which solves the problem or maybe file conversion which would solve the problems you are experiencing.  Since the codecs for files is not something written by Microsoft, we do not have the information for that in our system.

What I suggest is to go to your search engine preferred and in the search line and typing "is possible to play VLC on XBOX.

    WARNING:

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

What I suggest also done an online search using your favorite search engine for "play MKV files in Vista x 64 Media Center" to find whether there may be suggestions about codecs or these codecs created by other organizations then Microsoft.

Please let us know if you are able to get this to work for you.

  • Windows 7 Media Center - stuttering/video freezing while playing Internet TV

I recently installed "clean" Windows 7 Edition Home Premium on XP MCE 2005.  I have serious problems with the video stuttering and freezing frequently during playback of the titles of Internet TV, for example, old episodes of Star Trek.  Results often loud squawk a Duke during freezing.  Sometimes it looks exactly like a CD does when he gets stuck on an imperfection and goes into a fast loop.  The irony is that I can read the exact same titles via Fancast, and have no performance problem either.  Stutter/freeze occurs only during playback via Internet TV in Media Center.

    My system is:
Intel motherboard - tried two different BIOS D945PVS (according to newest and newest).
    Processor Pentium D 3.0 GHz
    3.0 GB RAM 667 MHz
nVidia GeForce GT 220, 1 GB of VRAM, connected via HDMI for display in 1080 p (latest verified driver) (second video tried - card was first nVidia 210, 512 GB of VRAM)
Installed at the Manitoba Intel Gigabit network reports, cable and adapter gigabit connection speed
Three different tried sound options - Creative Soundblaster X - Fi Elite Pro; MB base IDT HD Codec; nVidia HD Audio, with video/HDMI card).

I updated all the drivers and installed all Windows updates.  I could really use some help.  I did everything I can think of short of a repair upgrade/reinstall of the operating system.  Thank you, in advance, for your help.

Well, finally solved the problem.  It turns out that lower level nVidia graphics card I tried (the 210 and GT220) couldn't handle Internet TV via Windows Media Center to the high resolution, I tried to use (1920 x 1080, in my case).  I pulled a map of greater chart end of one of my other computers (a nVidia 9800GT) and Internet TV has played without incident a few hours.  I don "t know where the dividing line is between inadequate and adequate performance GPU, but the GT220 (which I think is about equivalent to a 9400GT) did not work and the 9800GT has done.

So, if you have a skip/stutter problem, either try a lower resolution or a more powerful card.

  • In Media Center, want to play together photos and videos.

In Media Center, I like the way you create slideshows by simply adding images in the folder.  Why can't I add a small video file to play as well?  With cameras of today in a position to take pictures and videos, it would be nice to be able to combine the two types of files in a folder and make them play together in the show. For example, on vacation I take 200 photos and 50 short videos with my camera.  I then download all these files (photos and videos) in a folder called 'Vacation2013 '.  Then, I want to be able to select this folder in Media Center, they are the piece of photos and videos.

You can do it in Google's Picasa.

I know that I can use Movie Maker or some other video editing/creating software to combine photos and videos in a video and then have Media Center play video.  But I don't want to do that.
