Linksys WRT160N V2 Mac help?

I came down for the summer at home with my parents and it seems that they have disconnected the router that I put in place around Christmas time last year - and now I forgot the password. I know that the password for the WiFi network general, but I don't remember what I put for access network (e.g. 192.168.1.1) is there a way to reset it? My parents have a ye olde Mac Tiger and refuse to upgrade. Nevertheless, I have a WRT160N and when I go to use the installation/setup disk it always comes back with something in the sense of "I'm sorry, we can not recognize your gateway" or something like that. I've tried everything I can for the past hour and have no idea what I'm doing wrong (when it asks for a password to the beginning of the month I do not always do anything, I click on the "I won't need this" (or whatever he said, I took a break and decided to ask for help).) I think what happened is that when my parents or the person abducted the router, the computer is now looking for the original (which I have no idea as to why). I hooked everything exactly the way the software says (ethernet to PC, internet to the router to the Modem, etc.) ... still nothing. Can anyone help?

Nevermind, I ended up unplugging the modem ! Then I googled after the modem restarted, it was fine then. Good luck to anyone having this problem!

  • Need help with Linksys WRT160N!

I had a Linksys WRT160N (version 1) for a few years. I plugged it on my desk, followed by a VOIP router and a cable modem. Internet through Comcast cable with typical 15 to 20 Mbps DL and around 4 Mbps UL (via Speedtest.net and Speakeasy). My only wireless connections have been a Wii and PS3 without any speed problems (both tested).

I just got a netbook Samsung N150 Plus with Win7 Starter and my DL speed is only 0.5-0.7 MB/s but UL is always around 4 Mbps. But only on the netbook... everything else is fine. I tried everything to fix this... updated the firmware on the router, tested the netbook on a different wireless network to ensure that it was not the wireless adapter (works fine), checked computer wired (works fine), tried different channels, tried to turn filtering off, tried to disable the firewall, tried to disable the blocking of anonymous requests etc. I read through other posts and the consensus was to get a new router. I can't believe this is my only option. Am I completely missing a simple difficulty here? Help, please!

Thanks (and bear with me as I'm not as technically savvy as maybe others).

OK... I had finally straightened it. I downloaded the latest version of EasyLink Advisor on my desktop and just rested on my network software. Wireless on my netbook DL speed went from 0.5 Mbps to 15 Mbps. I don't know why... all I know is that I couldn't install the LELA original (from included CD) on Windows 7 (x 86) although I managed to install the network very well (new PC is around the age of 6 months... used to have XP). Nothing has changed in the configuration of the router settings (at least not manually), so I'm not sure why it works now that LELA is installed on the Windows 7 desktop. If anyone knows I'm curious to know why this is... just in case someone else he meets and needs information.

  • Linksys WRT160n SPI Firewall

I recently installed a Linksys WRT160n mainly to its advantage as a hardware firewall. I chose the wireless router because I intend to buy a laptop later. In the meantime, since I don't need wireless, I disabled the it. This router always provide firewall protection to my PC with the wired connection until I SPI Firewall Protection enabled?

    Thanks for help.  Alton

The WRT is NAT that will make your inaccessible since the internet LAN unless you configure port forwarding, port triggering, DMZ or compatible UPnP host. The SPI Firewall protects especially the router.

    4. Hold down command + SHIFT keys, and press '3 '.
      you will hear a "shuttersnap".
There will be a new file to PNG image on your desktop
    5. Use the camera above the part of the answer to search for and insert it in a response

Also test 'application help' - as the preview or Safari - same choice of Menu 'help' but IN the App - take a screenshot if no joy

  • Linksys WRT160N

I just bough Linksys WRT160N and replace the old one (Thompson router).

I followed the installation CD. But when it's over, there is no connection to the internet.

    1 Linksys WRT160N image back

If the yellow connector have 8 'PINE '.

And my DSL of the wall have only 4 (connector 4-pin, but with only 2 wires)

How can I make this work?

You will need a DSL modem to connect the WRT to your ADSL line. I guess your old Thompson had a built-in modem. Thompson still works, you should be able to put Thompson in "bridge" mode and use it as a simple DSL modem. Then, you need to configure your WRT for PPPoE (if that's what your ISP uses) to connect to the internet via the DSL modem.

  • Router LinkSys WRT160N V2 does not recognize my USB SMC EZ Connect 11 Mbps Wireless

I have a Linksys WRT160N V2 router. So far I have correctly connected, using two 'wired' connections, my laptop and the printer. I was able to add two DS, Wii, wireless, another laptop and a PC. The laptop that connected wireless uses the D-Link wireless device and the PC uses an other SMC wireless device. All these things correctly connect through wireless connections. The last PC I tied to conenct uses USB SMC EZ Connect 11 Mbps Wireless. This computer can actually 'see' the Linksys router and this is the SSID. When I try to connect to him, he thinks about it for about 5-10 seconds and then fate and says "Detected wireless networks". Ironically, a neighbor also has a Linksys router. Its protected by WEP, but for some reason, my PC is ready to connect to the Linksys router (has a different SSID), but since I do not know the WEP key (I don't want to actually connect to sound at least) it shows the strength of connection 11 Mbit/s and of course, does not have an IP address. Why my router does not recognize my Wireless Linksys router? I even used the LELA 'Search' application for new devices, and he can't find it, all the while my PC 'sees' the router and fails to connect. Someone knows why? FYI, the PC in question just had XP loaded on it (total reconstruction) and has never been only once on the interent.

If you have disable wireless security is disabled, and if still you are not connect to your wireless network, then I think you should try upgrading the drivers for your SMC card, once you update the drivers for you adapter after this you can try to connect to your wireless network.

  • Cannot connect by Satellite A305 Linksys WRT160N wireless

I have a Satellite A305-S6839 with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium that I tried to connect wireless to a Linksys Wireless - N WRT160N router but I am unable to get the service.
I can configure the router and it transmits properly, but for some reason that I can't connect to it. I tried to reboot several times that the manufacturer suggested unplugging the cables, but that did not work. I suspect that there are drivers I need to download for this operation.

    Someone give some advice?

First, visit the Toshiba support site we and install the latest BIOS and Wifi Driver.

Second, try to change the Wifi settings-Wifi card-> properties > Device Manager. Increase power output, select "802. 11 g-only", turn off energy-saving.

  • Micro USB, first cs5 on mac help

    Hello

I tried to respond for a while and have found none. My Microsoft LifeChat lx-3000 will not work with premiere pro. It does not work on mac and Final cut... but the final cut is terrible and I would like to register first.

    Things I've done:

    1. go to the first pro > Preferences > audio hardwear

-In this menu, I chose the "Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 ' as default device

-in the Audio mix 'Touch', I changed 'Audio 3' click the Microphone button and nothing happened, when I pass the entrance to ' built in ' the Prime Minister recognizes the built in mic and allows me to record using this... but what a sound really bad.

    2. I also went to utilities > Configuration Audio and Midi

-Here I have chosen the Premeir Pro cs5 and checked the box next to the "Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 ' to indicate that the Prime Minister would use this device.

-does not work always and every time I open the audio and Midi, the box next to "microsoft LifeChat LX-3000" is unchecked... don't know why it won't save.

I'm a loser, if anyone has any suggestions or has addressed this problem I'd buy some... If this has already been replicated in another thread, point me in the direction!

    Thanks for your time, everyone!

Hi Willis, I'm back from lunch.

1, the screenshots here, so that instructions can vary, because I'm 1 worm. different from you; that is, 10.6.8 and CS5.5. However, I don't think it's really important.

2nd, I copy and paste my notes... I like caps for my personal notes, so all caps doesn't mean anything to these instructions.

3rd, where instructions said 'MAC PRO' right under your laptop.

OK... These are the interfaces you have to deal with:

-MAC PRO > SYSTEM PREFERENCES > SOUND > INPUT (INCL. VOL. SETTING.)

-MAC PRO > SYSTEM PREFERENCES > SOUND > OUTPUT

-ADOBE PREM PRO > PREFERENCES > AUDIO HARDWARE

-ADOBE PREM PRO > AUDIO MIXER PANEL > FLYOUT MENU > METER INPUTS ONLY

-ADOBE PREM PRO > AUDIO MIXER PANEL > RESPECTIVE TRACK.

TRACK CHANNEL INPUT DROP DOWN MENU > INPUT SOURCE

Reboot OK, just for the heck of it.

Make sure that your usb headset is plugged.

We will set up your audio files to use the microphone to the headphones input, but the speakers on your laptop for the output. I think it could avoid potential problems.

With your wired microphone, open your mac system preferences and select the "Sound" pane

Now, select the entry and make sure your microphone is selected as the input source.

Here, I have the M-Audio selected, you select your microphone, but it manifests itself.

Run the volume slider up to about 3/4 (you can change it later if you wish.

Now select the tab 'Exit' at the top of the window. Select your internal speakers

on your laptop. Note: you can try the helmet later if you want, but for now use the speakers

on your laptop. Run the volume up to about 3/4: this volume can also be adjusted by the volume keys on

your keyboard. When finished, close the OS system prefs.

Now open Pro Prem. and create a new project.

When appears in the new project dialog box, select the general tab at the top and the last menu drop-down

Choose DV and click on the OK button at the bottom.

The sequence settings dialog box will appear, these parameters are important and may be at the root of the audio problems.

I believe you said you wanted only to record the audio so I don't take into account all the video settings...

With the "séquence Presets" tab at the top selected... expand the "DV-NTSC" options and select 'Standard 48 kHz '.

Now, select the 'Settings' tab at the top of the box.

In the section "Audio" box, make sure "48000 Hz" is selected in the

    drop-down menu.

Now select the "Titles" tab at the top of the box.

Because the microphone of the headset is probably mono, we want to create at least a mono track (that you want to save to) and 1 or two stereo tracks. If you try to save a stereo track from a mono microphone, directly, you will get the reading by a single speaker (IE a single channel).

So, now you are in the track options. In the Audio category, doing 'Master' stereo the value in the drop-down list box. It may be already there, it's the default value according to me. Next to Mono, click and make one. Next to the stereo, click and 2 tracks. Click OK at the bottom of the box.

Premium Pro should open completely and all of your dashboard is displayed.

Go to the preferences of Prem, and then select the 'Audio' options.

Select your usb microphone in the menu drop-down default device. My example below

    my M-Audio has selected

Press the SHIFT + 6 keys to display the Audio Mixer Panel if it is not already visible.

You should have 1 mono track and two track stereo (my pic shows 3 stereo, below)

Above the mono track, click the microphone icon bit, it should turn red, showing that you have enabled

    the track for the record.

Now, there should be a drop down menu under the button pan for the mono track. Click on it and

Make sure that your usb microphone is enabled.

Now, go up the right corner of the audio mixer Panel and click the little box with lines ("drop").

In the drop-down menu, select "entries only.

Now, you should be good to go, tap your microphone or speak into it to see if the meter mono track is sound recording.

Click on the Red record button at the bottom of the Mixer Panel, then click the play button to the left of the record button. The read head must start moving through your timeline and record the sound.

Let me know if you have trouble. I'll try to help. Good luck Willis.

How do you think the pop-up?

Never mind, I guess that's when you try to download the operating system after opening a session with your AppleID.

Your AppleID is associated with the purchase/download this OS?

There is an alternative, to make a USB bootable installed with DiskMakerX. You can now start in this rather the the recovery partition.
