This happened to me until I bought a laser mouse and disable the Touchpad - then the problem has disappeared. If you don't want a separate mouse, you may need to change the posistion of your hands while you type to avoid the problem. Check the Dell website with your product key to see if they have new Touchpad drivers available (I just got one recently for my Dell). I can't tell what the options in the menu start / Control Panel / mouse will be after the installation of your new driver because I have a menu controlled by separate mouse, but it may be an option to disable the TouchPad while you are typing - if so, check and see if that helps (it can't hurt to try).
