DMG Installer Virus?

I have been having this weird problem on my macbook pro where every second or third dmg I download and try opening appears as Installer no matter what we actually call the program and when I click on install it starts to install 7zip. Im just assuming it's some kind of virus, but I'd love help because some of the programs that I downloaded are very large and I hate that I lost many concerts on nothing!

You may have installed ad-injecting malicious software ("adware").

Do not use any type of product, "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" on a Mac. It is never necessary for her, and relying on it for protection makes you more vulnerable to attacks, not less.

Save all data first.

If the malware is not automatically deleted, and you cannot remove yourself by following the instructions from Apple, see below.

This simple procedure to detect any type of adware that I know. Disabling is a procedure distinct and better still.

Some legitimate software is funded by advertising and may display advertisements in its own windows or in a web browser while it is running. It's not malware and it may not appear. In addition, some Web sites display advertising intrusive popup that can be confused with adware.

If none of your web browsers work well enough to carry out these instructions, restart the computer in safe mode. Allows to temporarily disable the malware.

Step 1

Please triple - click on the line below on this page to select it, and then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

~/Library/LaunchAgents

In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + v press return. Open a folder named "LaunchAgents", or you will get a notice stating that the file cannot be found. If the file is not found, proceed to the next step.

If the folder opens, press the combination of keys command-2 to select the display of the list, if it is not already selected. Please don't skip this step.

There should be a column in the update Finder window. Click this title two times to sort the content by date with the most recent at the top. If necessary, enlarge the window so that all the content show.

Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading "take a screenshot of a window." An image file with a name starting in 'Screenshot' should be saved to the desktop. Open the capture screen and make sure it is readable. If this isn't the case, capture a small part of the screen indicating that what needs to be shown.

Start a reply to this message. Drag the image file in the editing window downloading. Alternatively, you can include text in the response.

Leave the case open for now.

Step 2

Do as in step 1 with this line:

/Library/LaunchAgents

The record which can open up will have the same name but is not the same as in step 1. In this step, the folder does not exist.

Step 3

Repeat with this line:

/Library/LaunchDaemons

This time the file will be called "LaunchDaemons."

Step 4

Open Safari preferences window and select the tab 'Extensions'. If the extensions are listed, post a screenshot. If there are no extensions, or if you cannot launch Safari, skip this step.

Step 5

If you use Firefox or Chrome browser, open the list of extensions and do as in step 4.

    I found it!  He arrived with an update of a program called Macrium Reflect.  I had installed this program 2 years ago and used to create an image of my backup system.  When all of this began to happen, I used the disk to reinstall this program and installed the image.  Had same trouble decided to clean install.  Then to their website to download the update of the program and "Wham".  Finally, I am looking in the files installed for this prgram and found a configuration file which contained the words 'VB Script.  2 .dll named VSS.dll and VSSS.dll files.  I deleted those and run a registry cleaner.  I then uninstalled the program.  Now I have all my updates installed except SP2 that constantly refuses to install.

    My problem is now there is some registry keys of this program left that I can't remove.  Did not understand how to take in hand.

    But the virus has not shown that I made above.

    Thanks for your help.  I owe a lot of reading to do.

  • Corrupt CS5 Design Standard Installation file

    I have a new hard drive installed in my laptop MacBook Pro with El Capitan installed.  I am trying to reinstall my CS5 Design Standard package I buy in 2011 (I know, I know...).  When I download the .dmg installation on adobe.com file (Download Adobe Creative Suite 5 products)) the Installer gives me an error when I try to install.  I downloaded two times with the same result. Also, my purchased package does not appear in my account history or purchased items.

  • Adobe Flash Player 13 hangs up on download 50% during installation.

    Hello. I searched the forums and cannot understand it.

    I have 3 Macs. 2 2013 Macbook Air Laptops and a Mac Mini connected to a monitor used as a desktop computer. I can't install Adobe Flash Player on the Mac Mini, no matter what I do. All 3 computers have the new Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9 - and are fully updated. Laptop computers have no problem. But whenever I need to see something in the flash pointed out how it is not installed on my computer, I follow the steps to download, I leave, I'm going to install, and after it starts downloading as soon as you get to 50% it hangs up and will not be installed. I even saw that it was a problem and track the steps of Adobe for the right click, view content and go this rout, but the .pkg file is NOT in the resource file for Adobe 13 how it is indicated in the instructions. When I try to install Flash 12 or 11 Flash it won't let me because it says that these versions are not comparable with my machine.

    Is there advice that works with the latest version I can try or is it not an obvious solution.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 trial installs on my Mac (OSX Lion)

    Information about the problem:

    I am trying to install a trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS5.1.

    I completely downloaded the trail via The Adobe Download Assistant. The file that I have now is "Photoshop_12_1_LS1.dmg".

    I can open the .dmg and go through the steps of ready to install base. I press install and wait that it to do its thing.

    Installation hangs and then at some point in any %. Sometimes the % will remain at some point and time will pass and no progress. At one point, I left the machine in the 8 minutes he required and time were spent 60 minutes +.

    I've noticed a trend whenever I tried it (31 times).

    The installation program always seems to freeze in section when it installs: Adobe recommends Fonts or fonts Adobe or Adobe Bridge CS5.5 Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5.

    Once the installation is stuck, it crashes the system and I have no other choice to the hold down the power button, the machine does not respond. I tried the installation several times and still no luck.

    To try to fix it myself, I removed all the custom fonts in font book and what remains is the default fonts on the system. I even tried to install the trial without all the additional extensions provided before installing the trial, and still the same problem occurs.

    I need this trial and I'd appreciate any help I can get.

    I found a solution to this problem. Install the files in secure boot mode. Here's how to guide:

    Part one:

    With recent attempts or even previous versions of Adobe CS can be still hanging around on your mac, in order to remove the bits and bobs needed for installation clean you need to download the tool of 'cleaning up' by Adobe CS5. This can remove all previous version of CS back to CS3. This could be the problem by doing that download you. This tool can be downloaded here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/829/cpsid_82947.html

    YOU SHOULD USE THIS TOOL BEFORE MOVING ON TO THE SECOND PART.

    Second part:

    To start mode without fail (to start), follow these steps:

    1. Make sure that your Mac is turned off.
    2. Press the power button.
    3. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key. The shift would be held as soon as possible after startup, but not before the tone tone.
    4. Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a gear).

    Third part:

    Now that you have left your boot of the machine up at startup.

    1. Locate the .dmg installation file. It may take a while to load, but be patient.

    2. Click here to open the .dmg.

    3. continue the installation as you normally would.

    Once it's installed, you can now restart your machine and start as usual. Log in and then it should be there in your applications to use.

  • 6 purchased Lightroom on amazon, does not install under macOS Sierra

    Hi all

    I bought Lightroom 6 for Mac from amazon and got a serial number and a download link. When I try to download/install, it is said that it does not find its configuration files. When I checked the product description again once it is said, it runs under OS X 10.8, 10.9 and 10.10. I flew forward but of course he understood under the name "or more."     I assume that you have downloaded the dmg installation without problem and the error occurs during installation.

    If so and the error is in English, attach a screenshot of it or re-upload your installation file.

    I have the discs for my CS5 Design Premium, but on my new mac, there is no CD drive.     The problem is that CS5 is out before OSX is enhanced security setting. It causes this misleading error because it is not "signed" as a trusted application and therefore is blocked.

    You must go to your security & privacy in the Apple system preferences and set it Anywhere temporarily before opening the DMG, installation and update. After that is finished, set it to the Mac App Store and identified developers.

    Install using the EXE or DMG Installer downloaded from here:

    Before downloading you need to follow the instructions with precision! Which would give you a version 11.0.0 .

  • Cannot install Creative Cloud Desktop app on Yosemite 10.10.5

    I tried all day to install the creative app could, but with no luck.

    I have read countless messages of the forum on the various proposals, but nothing has worked.

    I am running Yosemite 10.10.5 on a Macbook Pro.

    I checked and repaired disk permissions; Run the application from the cleanup of CC tool; removed the AAMUpdated / folders OOBE etc from my library in places all suggested, I tried to install the application after startup mode without failure (which simply does not work).

    Depending on what link I followed to download the .dmg Installer CC, I get either of the 2 error messages, or a 202 error saying it cannot be installed or the other error message saying that the .dmg has no mountable file system.

    I deleted everything in my trash, restarted my machine countless times, tried to open the .dmg package content to manually load the installer no longer works, which I have now run out of ideas.

    If there is someone who can give me an idea, I would gladly appreciate it.

    After some reading more, I came across information on the team @ ProDesignTools.com with a long list of direct download links (.dmg files) for all CC individual applications for Mac and Windows systems.

    The key is that you SHOULD follow their instructions - basically, you click on their link (which redirects you to a page to download a trial version of Photoshop Elements), in order to ensure that you, in turn, log Adobe system using your Adobe account identification information. You then cancel the trial E.G. download, return to ProDesignTools page and download the applications from there.

    I can confirm that I downloaded the CC (3.3.0.151) desktop application that then installed without any problems. I also downloaded Photoshop (16_LS20) of their site, which has also installed without problem and appeared subsequently in the CC desktop application.

    I did however try and install InDesign from the CC app and got the error U44M1I210. Otherwise, I downloaded InDesign on ProDesignTools website, and which worked perfectly.

  • Cannot install Captivate voices 8 on Mac

    I downloaded and installed 8 Captivate on my Mac, but I can't seem to install the voice NeoSpeech add on.  I downloaded the .dmg installer I couple of different times, and began to install it, but he gets only to the installation of 2% and then says Installation failed every time.  When I look at the summary it is said of the errors:

  • CS LR6 of CS LR5 update does not start

    Hi, I have just install CS LR6 by buying the upgrade. Everything seems fine with the process (from download to install), but LR6 does not start when I click on it.

    OK got it working, but I had to delete all the files Adobe virtually any Mac application, kept only some newspapers (I thought it can't hurt and I'm tired of this mess) and then do a clean installation/configuration in this order:

    -Install the creative cloud with the CreativeCloudInstaller.dmg downloaded from Adobe

    -Disconnect of the CC of the preferences panel and leave CC (after a while of waiting for the "Exit" option to be available on the menu, don't know why).

    -Install Ligthroom 6 LS11 my purchase of upgrade .dmg Installer and download.

    -Launch LR and follow this way to serialized: using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom | Serialize Lightroom trial to activate like Lightroom 6 CC

    Now, I have to install PS CS6 back and all my plugins and settings.

    If you need to do to, be sure to have backups secure (several).

    This solution is really the only one that worked for me, because I think I've tried almost everything I see here (reconnection of the CC, restart, reinstall, delete files, give rights to libraries and so on).

    For the moment, everything is fine (I have no time to seek more internal LR6 bugs) and I got the standalone version works even without connection internet (I tried).
