Dn laserjet P2055: installation P2055dn

Why it's almost impossible to keep one of these printers connected and working.  I have one I am trying to install on a new computer.

Says 1) that the computer has no USB support. ; (2) I need to be an administrator; (3) I have the wrong operating system.

I downloaded the drivers HP for Win 7-64 bit., I get an icon in devices and printers, has the green check mark it, but do not print.  For several days, I've deleted and reinstalled more than 75 times with almost as many re - start.

Most of my 40 workstations are Dells (i5, or better, all Win 7 pro 64-bit), it's a new motherboard from Gigabyte.  I have the same questions about all 40 PC, it has become a job full time keep connected HP printers.

Is there a solution relaiable there to get and keep these printers connected to a Win 7 Pro 64 bit workstation?

I found a solution.

  1. Unplug the USB cable from the computer 2055.
  2. In devices and printers, delete the printers installed when the printer was connected usb.
  3. For good measure, I also ran CCleaner as well on temporary files and function cleaner reg.
  4. Download the full package and run the 'set-up '.
  5. After that the installation décompacte files, cancel it.
  6. Search for drive c: for usbready.exe and once found, rename for the installation program cannot be found.
  7. In the folder where "usbready.exe" has been located, run the set-up file once again, but this time he let continue, do not cancel the installation.

After days of testing in several other ways to connect to this printer, it was the only method that worked.  I tried this method several times and it works, it is the ONLY method that works for me to install the printer P2055dn.

I have several of this particular model printer, it's always a challenge connected Dungeon and work, at least once a week, someone in our Office will ask me re - connect their 2055 printer and it's the same procedure to uninstall and reinstall.  Other than keep connected, they are proved to be a decent printer. Only 3 out of more than 25 have developed electronic related failures and stopped working in the last years of ±3.

Bottom line is that the software and drivers for the connection USB is bug, use of HP to ensure that these problems have been resolved, not so much anymore...

    Local printers

To install a printer, the most common method is to connect directly to your computer. This is known as a local printer.

If your printer is a universal serial (USB) bus model, Windows should automatically detect and install it when you plug it in.

If it is an older model that connects using the serial or parallel, you may need to install manually.

To install the printer (add) a local

    1. Click to open devices and printers.

    2. Click Add a printer.

    3. In the Add Printer Wizard, click Add a local printer.

    4. Choose a printer port page, make sure you use a button existing port and the recommended printer port are selected and then click Next.

    5. On the installation of the printer driver page, select the model and manufacturer of the printer, and then click Next.

      • If your printer is not listed, click Windows Update, and then wait while Windows searches for drivers additional.

      • If none is available and you have the installation CD, click disk, and then navigate to the folder where the printer driver. (For additional guidance, see the printer manual.)

    6. Perform the steps in the wizard and then click Finish.

      Tips

      • You can print a test page to make sure that the printer is working correctly. See print a test page.

      • If you have installed the printer, but it does not work, check the Web site of the manufacturer for troubleshooting driver or updated information.

    My printer does not print.

It is a difficult problem to diagnose because there are many printers on the market and many reasons why it could not work.

First of all, make sure that your printer is turned on and connected to your Windows computer according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Then, try the printer troubleshooter, which will attempt to diagnose and solve your problem automatically.

    Open the printer Troubleshooter

Open the printer Troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Under hardware and sound, click on use printer.

Then, try to update the printer driver on your computer. Sometimes printer problems come from out-of-date driver software, and can be solved by installing or reinstalling, the latest driver.

To find the latest driver for your printer, first check Windows Update, which is designed to detect the hardware connected to your computer and automatically notify you when new drivers are available:

    1. Click to open Windows Update.

    2. In the left pane, click search for updates, and then wait while Windows searches the latest updates for your computer.

    3. If updates are found, click install updates. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If you do not see a listed updated printer driver, it is always possible that there are: your printer manufacturer might not have provided to Microsoft yet.

Most printer manufacturers offer updated drivers on the sections of the support of their Web sites. Drivers are typically organized by edition and Windows printing model. When you have found the right driver, install it according to the instructions of the manufacturer. For more information, see update a hardware driver that is not working properly.

If your printer still does not work, see the support section of the website of the manufacturer of your printer for model-specific troubleshooting tips.

I am trying to install a HP laserjet 4350tn on my Vista. But I can't install it to work on my Vista. I found several drivers on the HP homepage and installed most of them as a user and as an administrator, but with the same result: the installation goes well (no error), but when I try to write a document page or e test, an error will be reported in the printerfolder. And that's all. Everyting stalls. The drivers I have tried are the 4350 PCL5 and PCL6 and postscript, PCL5 and PCL6 universal driver. The printer that I'm testing has 384 MB of ram. The OS is Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.

The drivers and firmware are later (October 25, 2010).

Each page takes 15 minutes or longer to print.

One of the printers is hosted on Fedora 13 and has the same problem.

    Just loaded on 11 February 2011 PCL6 Windows 7 32 bit driver.

    It works!

Will have to try on February 11, 2011 PS driver then.

    Hi @chuehh,

I see that you are having problems reinstalling the printer. I'd love to help you.

If you has not fully run an uninstall of the software of the printer, the printer is probably still detected in the Device Manager, which is originally the printer is not being recognized again.

Verify that connections in Device Manager for the entries of the printer, under Bus USB controllers look for a USB print media or anything with an exclamation yellow, storage device or an unknown device. Right click and uninstall the device. Here is a document with the steps to access the Device Manager in two Solution: troubleshooting software. "The device has not completed" or the "Unknown device" Message appears in Windows USB Installer...

Do not take into account the title. Then follow the steps from the beginning of the document. If the printer is not listed in the Device Manager window, let me know.

This can happen due to connection of USB oprior the installation of the software.

In the devices Panel and printers, right-click on any instance of your printer and select remove device.

Allow it a moment, if nothing happening try removing and reconnecting the USB after the specified screen.

If you have already stopped the installation, don't forget to remove any existing printer device and unplug the USB, then follow the installation once more and connect it only when necessary.

If it persists, click the background area of devices and printers and select Device Manager, is there any icon marked in different categories?

    Hello

I have deployed the P1102 driver to all our Windows 7 PC, but the problem arises when branch P1102 printer via the USB port where the printer shows up as a CD-Rom drive (containing the driver) and not as a printer USB device!

It is an excellent solution for the consumer that is marked, but on our network, our users are not local administrators and are not allowed to install software / drivers (where the driver via our deploymentsystem preinstallation). I found the SIUtillity.exe, where I can change the mode USB from PC to the printer, the printer / USB port, but I need a solution from the administrator, where I can do it in silence and even better before the printer is delivered to the end user.

    Any solution for this?

Best regards, Palle Johansen, IT-admin, Ringsted Kommune, Denmark.

Thanks, but as stated, I know the SIUtility.exe and now I finally found a solution to run the SIUtility in a script.

Are you able to work with other USB devices without any problem?

From my research, if other USB devices work, could be a problem with the USB cable.
