Do not see the networks wireless on my laptop under XP sp3.

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite 5 years old running Windows XP with SP3 and until the other day, he has been working very well.  Then the other day I started to clean my laptop to try to maintain it falls slower then it already is. (Glary Utilities, CCleaner, etc...)  Then all of a sudden I could no longer connect to my wireless network.  But if I plug it in wired Ethernet works fine but when I search for wireless networks to connect with, nothing appears on the pop-up window.  If I hit refresh, I get the same thing.  Here are a few things that I did to solve problems;

1. made sure that the Radio will switch on the side of the laptop was on. (duh!)

2. uninstalled the wireless network adapter in the Device Manager and allowed the operating system to reinstall it on reboot.

3 both upgraded AND rolled back the Adapter.drivers wireless.

4 power up the system Mode safe mode with network access and got the same thing.

I have three other computers/laptops with wireless connection in the House and they all work very well.  And all of them show many wireless networks in the region.

All ideas are welcome.  I'm all ears.  Thank you.

Hello

Perform the System Restore on the computer. Restore data when the wireless network was working fine.

My Windows 7 computer is not find wireless networks after I did a system restore. Hello

If your router not booking IP use.

Otherwise, configure the computers with static IP addresses.

Then go to sharing and permissions.

    Maybe this can help.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

    Hello

    Did you change your computer?

This problem occurs if the (LLTD) link layer topology discovery Responder component is not installed on the Windows XP computer.

Network card in Windows Vista makes network diagrams of connections between network devices that can be used to troubleshoot connectivity issues. Network map uses a discovery protocol called Link-Layer Topology LLTD (Discovery) that queries other devices on the network to determine how the network is organized.

Windows Vista includes the software components that implement the LLTD protocol. For other devices on the network to display on the map, they must activate a discovery protocol that can meet the demands of mapping from the Windows Vista-based computer.

I suggest you to install the update on windows XP.

    Welcome to the community,

This is often seen with managed switches. Please ensure the security of ports (for example the office mode) is not enabled on the physical switch ports. According to the model of switch, you must configure switchport access mode and spanning tree portfast for ESXi uplink ports.

If this is not enough, please provide details on the current configuration of the network (physical and virtual).

  • difficulty to remove the network wireless to my laptop

Hi - I'm unable to remove the network my laptop wireless. I have windows Vista Home premium on a Dell Inspiron 1525. I need to delete the list of wireless network in order to re - install (due to changes to the security settings). When I try to remove it, it disappears, but then within 5 seconds it appears again, like a ghost in my computer. Help, please

Perhaps, he keeps coming back because you're connected to the Internet.

I assume you mean: network and sharing Center, manage wireless networks, one of the networks on this list, your right you click on the network and clicked on delete network.

Well, if you click Properties, you can change the security settings.

If you were logged on to the disconnected from the Internet and then you can remove it and if it works you will see it come back.

But he will always be there even if you don't see it.

To remove it completely connect to the Internet with another connection, not one you want to delete.

Open the network and sharing Center click on customize, click on merge or delete network connections, select the connection that you want to remove and click on delete. This removes the registry.

If you are unable to connect to the Internet to do this follow these steps:

Press the Windows Logo key and the R key to open the run.

    type: regedit, click OK

Navigate to: HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT / CurrentVersion / NetworkList / profiles

Click on one of the profiles below to view on the right side. Look at the name of the profile to make sure it is the right one.

When you see one you want to remove a right click the highlighted one on the left side and click on delete.

    Hello

No, your printer must be on a wireless network WITH the Samsung, otherwise your Samsung can't see. You can use a direct impression, but you need to your printer supports this feature.

The easiest way: connect your printer to your network home woreless and all devices in your House can share the printer. Moreover, what is your printer?

  • VMKernel can not see the network...

I have 4 NICs, 2 NICs service a vswitch with a service console and VMkernel a.   The service IP console works fine but I have no network connectivity for the VMkernel on the same vswitch with a static IP address.  If I set the VMkernel for DHCP, it gets an address of 169.x.  esxcfg-switch - l & esxcfg-NICS - l show no problem.

    Hello

It seems the two network adapters that you use with that one VLAN configured on the pSwitch.

    • Try to configure vSwitch with a single NETWORK card, which saw Service Console PortGroup and confirm the S.C having connectivity

    • UN-Link the NIC of the vSwitch and add the second NETWORK card and confirm the S.C with connectivity.

If you have a connectivity on both network adapters, and then in the pSwitch problem seems to be.

    • Troubleshooting above with VMKernel PortGroup and confirm - there is connectivity to the other host via the vmkping command.

    • If doesn't work then be sure to there is a circuit in the pSwitch or not.

    • If you have chutes, make sure the tag pSwitch Port.

    • Put the VLAN ID in the VMKernel PortGroup.

    • Put the VLAN ID in the Service Console PortGroup

If you are not sure, connect two VMKernel network cards to a crossover cable and try the connectivity tests.

  • PC will not 'see' Mac on the network wireless

I just installed a Linksys WRT54G Router, and created a home network, which includes free Wi - Fi for my MacBook Pro.  The ethernet connected PC does not 'see' the Mac.  I know they are connected from the Mac can access the internet and can see files in folder on my part that I installed on the PC (after I have provide the password).  I'm running VISTA on the PC.  The network is set up in a private capacity.  In the "Network and sharing" screens on the PC, the network discovery and file sharing are on.  I checked with my internet provider to ensure that their safety programs are not the issue and found that starting the PC in safe mode doesn't change anything.  The card network and sharing or full view map only shows the PC, the name of the network and the internet.  It never shows the Mac well that the Mac indicates the network name as its connection.  Can anyone help or is it a problem that can be a gazillion things?

I bought a new router (netgear300) and tried to connect to it. For some reason any would connect to my computer, but it has not been through the modem, so I uninstalled the network card and reinstalled and rebooted the computer. 1 can connect to the router with other machines?

    Step 1:

    Update drivers: recommended links

    Step 2;

Also, see if there is a software that goes along with the drivers.  If so, download the recent plus version and that as well.

    a. Click Start, type network and sharing in the search box Center start and press ENTER.

    b. click on change adapter settings.

    c. right click on the connection, and then select activate.

    Step 3:

  • Portege A600-138 with Vista 32 bit does not see the computers in the Group Win XP network

    Hello

My Toshiba Portege A600-138 with Vista Business 32 does not see the computers in the workgroup.
In our office, the computers are all equipped with Windows XP.

When I connect my laptop to the Local network, I don't see any neighboring computers in Network Explorer.
I spent 1 hour and 40 minutes to talk to a specialist Service of Support from Microsoft, and the only way to have access to local machines, we found it had to enter the IP of the computer directly into the computer browser path field.

I hope you understand what I mean.

The man said that he had no this problem with non - OEM Windows Vista versions.
He meant that the problem was with the oem versions of Vista preinstalled on laptops only.
He said that probably the sellers - in my particular case Toshiba - supplied their notebooks with VIsta oem images that were somehow corrupt.

Does anyone have an idea of the cause of this problem?

    > The man said that he had no this problem with non - OEM Windows Vista versions.
    > It meant that the problem was with the oem versions of Vista preinstalled on laptops only.

    That's nonsense for me
The Vista OS preinstalled Toshiba which is same BONE as full Vista disc from Microsoft.
There is only one difference; Toshiba laptops are preinstalled with Toshiba and pilots tools and drivers and tools are part of the Toshiba recovery image that contains Vista, driver and tools

    Check this box:
    http://www.Computerworld.com/s/article/9019179/Teach_XP_and_Vista_to_play_nice_on_networks?taxono myId = 16 & pageNumber = 1

You will find information that a problem has to do with the new Windows Vista network map.
Windows Vista uses a new Protocol (Link Layer Topology Discovery).
LLTD is integrated with Windows Vista, this is why they appear correctly in the network map.
But the problem is that LLTD is not integrated with Windows XP, which is why they do not appear correctly.

But you can fix the problem by downloading and installing the layer topology discovery responder.
Install it and your PC Windows XP will appear on the network map.
