  I run Firefox 7.0.1 on Windows XP SP3 machine and I am behind a proxy server. We use a proxy script to my usual workingplace.   I've seen problems with upgrades to 8.1 affecting the adapter, but nothing works not properly out of the box on a new machine from 8.1 to WIN.  Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to force it to see 802.11n?

  The WLAN RT3290 card is only a single band (2.4 GHz).  He can not find the 5.0 GHz band.

  I am trying to add my HP Officejet k8600dn to Windows 7 (32 bit) so I can scan, but the HP Installer (add device) can not see the printer. The unit is set up by cable to a switch on my network via an ethernet cable. If I go into the menu "Add a printer" Windows, I can install the printer very well. But I have to be able to scan and I don't know what to do.

  Tips on getting functional analysis if the HP software is unable to see my printer? Subnet mask and gateway on the printer are the same for the computer and the printer. I typed the correct IP address in the "Add a device" menu of HP, but he sees not just it. ARRGG!

I'm in a place where I know there is a wireless network available, however, my computer will not display it or no matter what other networks unless I plug in an ethernet cable to my computer.   I am currently using Windows Vista x64bit.  A few days ago I noticed that all my files 'Compatibility settings' seem to have reset.  For example:

  Tab for "nHancer.exe", I right click on it, Selectionnezproprietes then go to compatibility , from there I would select "run this program as an administrator", pressapply, then OK.  This allows me to save a lot of time, instead of going through a right click and select "Run As Administrator" each time, I now just double click the icon.

  Please keep in mind that this is only for "nHancer.exe" but for all the files on my computer that I modified the "program compatibility" to ".exe".

  I am still current with Windows updates, I just installed some today.  I don't know why this is happening.

  Online, I found the following:

  Does not function correctly or it displays an error message whenever it is used, try to run it with additional administrator rights! By default, an application is not started with these additional rights, but this can be done manually by right clicking on (the shortcut to) the application and select run as administrator. Administrator rights can also be added by default by clicking with the right button on the shortcut to the application and to selectProperties, shortcut, Advanced button tab and activate the optionrun as administrator.

  Note that this speaks specifically changes to shortcuts, not the applications themselves.  Maybe if you create shortcuts and use rather than the actual files the problem will be solved.  I guess right here from what I've read, but maybe you can try on some programs and see if it makes a difference.  If so, you have your solution.  Otherwise, you have just a few shortuts to delete - but it seems like it may be worth a try.  The alternative is quickly approaching a system restore (which may in fact not solve the problem if it generally succeeds in situations like that) - but you don't really want to do this so I would at least a trial.

  In all previous versions of Firefox, when I close Firefox, asked me if I wanted to save my tabs. The latest version does not have this option. Why not and what adjustment will bring back this feature.
