Double-sided printing. The different margins top, front and back

I'm tying to print the aWord 2013 document on A4 sheet, double-sided, on my envy of 7640, now my Windows 10 pc.

I played with different sizes of margin and sometimes the text at the top of the page is missing or text starts at least 30 mm from the top of the cover page. Still back starts about 7-8mm from the top of the printed page.

I can't say with certainty that it is since the free update of Windows 10, but he printed double-sided OK in the past.

I have not modified parameters, only diversity of margin sizes when creating documents.

Hi @crag67,

I understand that when you print from 2013 of Word by using the duplex function, the margins on the front of the page and the back of the page are different. This happens when you print from other programs or just the word? If it occurs with other programs, it could be the driver, but if it occurs only when you print from Word, Word or a framework within the program, in which case I suggest reaching out to Microsoft or the Microsoft community.

If this problem occurs when you print from several programs, we will remove the driver and re - add new.

I suggest to use the following steps to remove the printer from the device and printers and the driver from the properties of the server.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 double-sided printing will not respond to the control software #2

    Win XP Pro SP3

    OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

Does anyone know why Officejet Pro 8000 had control of double-sided printing, removed from the spec software?

Does anyone know if there is a printer of this type which will respond to such control?

    UPDATE!

    ----------

This printer is now works very well with total control on duplex printing. But how did this happen...?

Two things have changed - well, maybe three.

But first of all to mention another very annoying problem: wireless printer to my network connection always collapsed which was a double nuisance (23/06/2016 see also installing the driver wireless Officejet 8000 Pro says default gateway is 0.0.0.0)

The road to happiness... I've finally updated my PC to a laptop HP Win7 (there is a problem with the laptop, but that's another story...)

During the process of setting up laptop, I had to set up the network and add the printer. In between aid was a FAQ something like "the wirless connection drops regularly." What interested me.

The fix was so simple - mychosen IP address has always been in the DNS range which was probably not very smart, but I didn't know any different. No one had ever mentioned before.

The idea is to select an address in the static range IE outside the DNS. So I took a number x.x.x.249 and bingo!, a solid and reliable connection that is always there.

Given the new laptop for download the drivers again. What went well and of course, the new machine is much faster.

Anyway after a few tries, much to my delight I discovered that two-sided printing worked with auto rotation if I check the box. Printing a document like that I would see in portrate (horizontal spine) and read down the two pages, turn to the next page and the same thing at the end of the document. Or, if you use the rotation of non - normal mode - the printing orientation is 'normal '.

It's a shame that it was necessary to buy a new laptop with a new o/s just to discover the problem by chance...

This is a question for the manufacturer of the printer - printing on two sides of a sheet of paper is usually controlled by the printing software and drivers.  As you don't know the brand, model and version number of your printer, I can't provide you with a link to their support site (but it should be pretty easy to find).

  • Horizontal stripes on the DOUBLE-SIDED PRINTING?

Have you ever notice horizontal lines on the side front or back a page double-sided printing?

This particular series is caused by ink printed on the first page is does not completely dry before going to the back. When the first page of traverse, the ink doesn't have enough time to dry the back of the page before printing.

When the back page comes from print, the rolls of smear the wet ink and made streaks.

The only way of all about this particular situation is to print manually both sides. Although it will be a lot of your time, it's a work around.

  • PSC 2510 double prints the left margin - transport stops

Hi, my 2510 double print the left margin so as to look as if the letters are ghosts, now it started to leave a wide width of letters about an inch from the left margin. At the same time, he will start a print job only to have the transport stop about 1/4 of the way, I have manually position the carriage to the position of Park - the menu says so is printing - it is not. I unplug the AC for 10 seconds and when I reconnect the printer resets and continues its merry way, until at the latest.  Thank you Kent

You probably have a buildup of ink on the MICR band used by the printer to tell where is the transport.  Gently clean the Strip as shown here.  Don't forget to respect the warnings, if you do not you may damage the delicate MICR band.

  • Invalid double-sided printing on the HP Photosmart C6280 all-in-One (printer, Scanner, copier)

On my 'old' computer (ca. 1974) the print mechanism duplex worked fine, but after that I installed the printer on my 'new' PC (Windows 7, 64-bit), the double-sided printing feature works not at all (although it allows me to print on both sides manually).  In order to operate as it did in the past, should I uninstall everything related to the printer before reloading the software?  Or do I have to reload the software at all?  Or what should I do?  I would like to know before taking any action, because I don't want to create problems for me or my computer/printer.

The duplexer must be set to "installed" as described in The Vista/Windows 7 Duplex Printing Guide troubleshooting here.  You will not need to uninstall and reinstall the driver.

  • C6280 issues with double-sided printing

    Hey all,.

For some time (we are talking years) I didn't relize I had a duplexer on my machine. I was doing the old-fashioned way: print a page, open the drawer, this page, return the program prints the next page, etc... One day I was flipping autour and saw print on both sides. I thought: ' Eureka, the answer to all my problems. " Evil.

After discovering that I had a duplexer, I was eager to try duplex printing everything and it seemed to work great.

However, lately things have been a bit wacky. For example, when I try to print something double-sided in Word, I normally go to the screenshot and select "print on both sides, back on the short edge," but lately the result is only the last page being printed. The printer prints the last page, it reverses and spits out a blank page on the other side. If a document that has 5 pages, for example, will result in page 5 only printing. This is also true for the PDF and PowerPoint. I have not tried anything else, or I don't remember anything else being sucessfully printed double-sided, I print from these 3 programs frequently. So as a solution, I found that I can go to the printer properties and select "printing double-sided (Duplex)", then "manual" selecing. It was also great to work for a period of time, print the odd pages and then I would feed them manually in the status bar. still a better solution to what I was accustomed to years (above).

    That was until last night.

I tried to print a PowerPoint Presentation two-sided document and some of the pages are out, that in a single page had a normal top margin, the following page may have a slightly larger margin, the page after that might a slightly smaller margin, etc... I thought that maybe the Fed just book funny and tried again. Results were the same. I tried to print a PDF file which also resulted in some pages being off. I opened the drawer, made sure the paper was stacked right and was about 20 pages, took off the duplexer and made sure the wheels were spining properly, unplugged the unit for one minute, etc... Nothing worked and it seemed to get worse because I lost paper trying to get to the bottom of it. Some of the pages even started to be printed in the correct order, as in page 1 and page 3 gathered front/rear instead of page 1 and page 2 combined front/rear. So I thought that it must be in the software.

I unplugged the printer, all completely uninstalled, rebooted, ran a registry cleaner, rebooted, downloaded the latest version of the software of HP and performed a clean installation, rebooted, installed the latest driver from HP, rebooted. I did this last all night and the approach seemed to fix the problem with margins. However, I still go on printing double-sided manually. Then this morning I got since I solved a problem, the automatic feeding through the duplexer should work. No joy, 'thing' has been up to his old tricks, only spitting the last page, as if the rest of the pages never made it to the printer. I even went to Devcies and printers > printer properties and I tried to put the duplexer as "installed". Seems that he likes to go back to "not installed".

Someone at - it ideas as to what my problems are?

    I am running:

    Windows 7 x 64

    4 GB DDRM

    Intell Core 2 Duo P7350 2.00 GHz

    Office 2010

    Adobe Reader 11.0.06

    I use HP paper

Network (but the problems occur also on USB)

Major changes other than windows updates not normal.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Well, I solved the problem. I played around with a bunch of parameters and magically it just started working. Do not know what settings or a combination of parameters does the job. Looks like it was just a fluke. Lets hope it continues to work properly because I like having the ability to print double sided without manually moving the paper.

  • HP 2549: HP 2549 and Mac OS x: double-sided printing does not work

    Hello!

I just installed this printer on my Macbook Air and I cannot print double-sided. I tried by USB / wireless (in the case where there is a difference between the two) but no luck.

I followed the advice in this post: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/two-sided-printing-no-longer-availble-...

but I did not tab "driver". I only have "Général", "Levels of power" and "utility." I tried to delete the printer and then add it with HP 2359 and AirPrint not but that does not change.

When I print a pdf document, double-sided printed is greyed out and I cannot change.

What should I do? I already reinstalled the drivers on the HP Web site, I selected all the things that I can install it, but that has not changed anything.

    Thank you.

    Hi @blablaalf,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that two-sided printing does not work with your printer HP 2549 on Mac OS X 10.10. I'm happy to help with this problem!

I assume that your printer is a HP Deskjet 2549, otherwise please reply with the exact type of printer you have. To find product/model number of your printer follow the instructions in this link. Find your model number of the HP product.

Otherwise, if the type of printer you have. According to this guide, print on both sides of the paper (duplex printing). He said: this printer is not an automatic duplex unit integrated, you can always print on both sides of the page to manually reload paper in the paper after printing tray first to print on both sides of the paper.

This is the reason why this option is grayed out.

If you print on letterhead, pre-printed paper or paper with watermarks and pre-drilled holes, the printer prints first the front of the document. Load the paper with the top edge first and the side to be printed facing downwards.
  • Ghosts on pages double-sided printing second on Officejet 6700 Premium e-all-in-one

    Please can someone help?

Printer name model e-all-in-one Officejet 6700 Premium

    Firmware MPM3CN1232AR

    Software 028.000.1315.000

    Driver 09.84.00.1173

    Win 7 SP1 64 bit

    Wired ethernet connection

    Problem

On two-sided printing, the second side of printing on all pages is ghost. This is in particular the noticebale on verticals.

This is true for all the qualities of printing on any documents .pdf or. doc.

I use all the HP printing paper and original cartridges.

I aligned the print head and checks suggested on the help pages.

I contacted HP support, which were brilliant and replaced the printer and the duplex unit.

They suggested that it was because I was using Office 2003 SP3 and Windows 7 but I find this problem on too but not in Wordpad v6.1 .pdf files

The problem does not occur when scanned or copied documents are printed

Is there a solution out there on this new printer please?

    Hi 007OHMSS,

I carefully read through a VionAiry pointer to the post of ItalSanif with links to more articles.

There were two main suggestions as to how to proceed. I didn't uninstall the "bloatware" and back to base for the HP Officejet 6700 Premium drivers, but I installed the drivers from the series HP Deskjet 6980 in accordance with the procedure at this link http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Issues-Troubleshooting/HP-7510-Duplex-Problem-y-axis-scaling/td-p/1754773 and listed below, with a few mods to include activation of unit duplex in one set of instructions.

And you know what? This MARKET! Ghosting on the second side of all pages printed double-sided disappears to be replaced with a nice crisp clear impression. At present, all the other functions, including scanning seem not affected and function as usual, although of course the new driver (HP Deskjet 6980 series) makes the leaves of different properties.

In my environment, I have also 3 XP machines in network connected wireless to the printer via the router and the PC Win7x64 connected by ethernet to the same router. Meant this download and the installation of the driver HP driver the HP Deskjet 6980 series for the XP PC Web page not the Win 7 x 64 because they were not present.

I modified a bit routine and reproduce it below to help others. A/c for the original post, that was provided by the HP Technical Support. Why nobody's support services seems to know about or drivers have not been fixed I would never know.

First turn off you will want the printer already available on the computer before you continue.

For Win7 PC (XP is similar but not identical)

    1. Go to Start -online device and printers => then click on the "Add a printer" button in the upper left corner of the device window.
    2. Click on the button "Add a local printer" (choose this option if you do not your configuration)
    3. Check the box "use an existing port.
    4. On the drop-down list, select the option for example CN115130TP05JW , but use the correct name for the PRINTER port which is the serial number of your printer (do not use the fax entry)
    5. Now in manufacture of list on the left, select "HP".
    6. On the list of Printers to the right, select "HP Deskjet 6980 series (HP)" "
    7. "Once the pilot moved to enter in the" 'devices and printers ' window and right-click the newly added "HP Deskjet 6980 series" and select ""printer properties ' on the drop-down list. "
    8. Go to the "Advanced" tab, and then in the drop-down list next to the label of "Driver" select "HP Deskjet 6980 series.
    9. Click on the button 'Apply' - the configuration window should change it's shapea bit.

      10. in the HP Deskjet 6980 window properties, click on the tab "device settings" on the top of the window.

      11. in the list of parameters, search for "Unit duplex (for printing on 2 sides) ' and select it.

      12. once highlighted, select in the drop-down list ""Installed "; "

      13. When finished press apply

14 now, go to what you use to print documents and select "HP Deskjet 6980" as your printer. Activate duplex printing and you should see the pages to print correctly.

    15. you can also change the name of the printer in the "Général" tab I changed it in mine to "HP Officejet 6700 with HP Deskjet 6980 pilot set shadowd duplex printing".

I had a little problem in that, for some reason any in the document (e.g. Word / etc\ .pdf) box under the effects tab my radio button has mysteriously been on 20% until I changed it it was hard to see that there was no ghosting dialogue printer properties.

So after complete 1 reconstruction of the printer of the original with the parts sent to HP services support for November 2012, an escalation at magnifications greater within HP (no answer) and a new printer of A...n, VisionAiry has pointed me to a solution that I had tried with DJ 450 drivers, nothing works, after a Shane_R post dated last year.

So thanks to you and also to 007OHMSS who worked on this problem and original posters

All I can say is that it worked for me and I am so grateful to everyone on this forum to ensure that I am sure of my eyes and mental health, looking more printed duplex printed with a shadow/ghosts and to be what they were not prepared.

Congratulations so all round and thanks again

Enter System preferences Print Fax Double click the printer, and then click Printer Setup

Make sure the duplex accessory is checked in the driver tab

What Application are you printing from, it is any Application MS Office by a chance

If so, the print dialog box is slightly different - click Copies of Pages at the top of the print dialog box, and then click page layout

You should see the duplex option and can save your settings as a preset for future use
