  • Download of existing Web site from the remote server to Dreamweaver CC 2015

    I need to download a website, designed originally in 2002 using MS FrontPage and more recently managed using MS Expression Studio 4 Web Professional, from my server to my computer using hosting service newly installed Dreamweaver CC 2015.

    I've never used Dreamweaver before, and information online using Dreamweaver is apparently to date with the latest version of Dreamweaver.  So far, everything I've tried has failed for one reason or another.  To be precise, because of a problem computer I lost the local version of my Web site that has been stored on my computer.  Later, I created an empty folder on my computer and tried to connect with the remote service hosting server so that I can download my Web site, but nothing works.  I get error messages in one way or another, right from the beginning and nothing on my computer screen is in agreement with the steps indicated, "using Dreamweaver / connect to a remote server" instructions that I downloaded on the Web.

    I need detailed instructions, step by step, how to connect to the server and upload my site on my computer.  The instructions must be compatible with what is actually happening using Dreamweaver CC 2015.  I'm new to Dreamweaver and have no experience with it.  And Microsoft no longer supports Expression Studio, it is virtually impossible for me to reinstall it on my computer.

    Connect to your remote server by adding in your FTP credentials during the process of site definition (user name, password, root folder and to the address of the server). You get this info from your host and save it in your site settings in the Site > Manage Sites > click the site > Edit > servers (hit the + to create a new server if you have not already).

    To connect to your server once the info has been added to the Site definition, open the files window (window > files, or F8 if it is not open), and then click the Connect button (icon). You can then hit the expand button (icon of two places) to see a representation next to your files the and remote. Click the Get button (down arrow) to download all files available the folder root of your site on your local computer.

    As I mentioned earlier, you have still questions whether FrontPage extensions have been used on the site. Who are the property of FrontPage and is not something that you can work with out of Dreamweaver. So, if you have determined that a redesign is out of the question, or not, may be irrelevant. You may have to, or find an old copy of FrontPage somewhere, in order to continue to work with your site in the way you could before.

    I can stick this same path in the Open box of excel and the data loads perfectly...

    This is because Excel does some fancy way, analysis, sees the URL and load the file on the web rather than from the local disk. It is in no way standard behavior (although perhaps, it will be in a few years). Until then, you can not treat a URL - an address for a file on a remote web server - as a local file. RavensFan suggestion might work if you set the sharing of files on the remote computer, but then you do file sharing, do not download from the web. To download a file on the web, use the HTTP screw or a Datasocket Read, which is probably the easiest option here. For Datasocket Read, provide the URL (http://10...) as well as the connection to the wire one string empty type. You will have the entire file as a string on the output data, which you can subscribe to the channel of spreadsheet in table for a table.

  • Newbie question: can a LabView script or exe run on a Web server and interact with PHP?

    Hi all

    I am a complete newbie. I had to have an existing LabView project and have been asking if it can work with a PHP Web site. I would like to be able to create a form (for entry) on a Web page, and then go this LabView project entry existing. The existing LabView project then treats the input and generates a text file that the user wants to download from the site.

    So my question is, is it possible? If so, how to configure it and what products/costs might be involved?

    Thanks in advance

    A

    Hi Andy -.

    There are a few limitations "Remote panels" who probably will not do what you are trying to do as possible.  First, the remote panels have only runs on a Server Web of LabVIEW, and this server does not support PHP.  Integrate a web site that uses a web server with more features of LabVIEW is to put the server on a different port and then use an iFrame or something to integrate LabVIEW remote panel page into your own web site.  Communication back will probably have to use another protocol tansportation or to read and write files that they read and write.

    I highly recommend that you look in another function to LabVIEW, called "Web Services".  These are quite a bit different approach of the remote control and are available only on version 8.6 and later (and probably only editions of developers).  Services Web of LabVIEW allows you to perform a LabVIEW program (or modify an existing one) to connect back using XML.  It is a common place to consume and send commands to a Web Service of LabVIEW by using something like PHP or Flash.  However, you are responsible to provide interfacing features in the language that you use that consume the Web Service of LabVIEW.  For example, instead of a graphic on the front, you would need graphical data output and a PHP program that can do something with it.

    Web Services are quite handy if you need a 'light' client, as well as material interaction features of LabVIEW.

    Hi gurus

    I am trying to display a picture jpg on a web server. I tested my PHP script on the server and I am able to upload an image using a form. Now I am making an application Blackberry POST the image on the server by using the same script however when I test the code in Java, PHP tells me that nothing has been published, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I am doing something like this:

    I just tried to clone the header sent by Chrome when I use the form, I think that they have the same information.

    My PHP script first checks to see if something has been posted, if nothing has been validated, it returns a message so I'm able to "consume" the script on the web server and I see that the BlackBerry is the download of the data, but the answer is that nothing has been reported.

    I think I sent you the info about the server in the wrong format.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Thank you all, it works fine now, I send you the length of the full header now, it works now, I'm sharking my code. Just create and instance of this object, passing the URL of web script and the bytes of the image to the constructor, then call the getRespuesta() method

    Here we have the code:

        private String mURL;
        private byte[] mDatos;

        public PostImagen(String URLServicio, byte[] Datos){
            mDatos = Datos;
            mURL = URLServicio;
        }

        public void getRespuesta() throws Exception {
            try {
                String mBoundary = "SUPSUP";

                /* Strings a usar para el contenido */

    Hello Margarida,

    Your Web host must support PHP and the PHP mail service must be properly configured to send e-mail messages. If you use the feature to download FTP in the Muse, Muse will attempt to warn you if it detects that your Web host does not meet these requirements.

    I suggest you contact your hosting provider in order to get this resolved.

    As Lilybri said, you must download the entire folder to keep all of the hierarchy.

    The image below shows a project I published locally. The folder on the left, ShapeSVGtest is what you download for all the files inside it remain exactly as will appear it when published.

    I have my files the in a separate folder.

    To test everything working, I set up a local test server (php / mysql).

    Now, everything works.

    So, I want to upload my site on the web.

    How is that possible?

    I have set up 2 servers: a testserver and a remote server. I can only upload to the test server...

    What I have to do something more to put files to the remote server?

    sites.JPG

    If you have problems to download to the remote server, it could be because the Dreamweaver files Panel is the selected test server.

    Expand the files Panel:

    Then select the icon for the remote server. You should then be able to download correctly.
