Download file is frequently forgotten

I started with 10 Firefox today after update my Kubuntu10.04 packages. Before I used 3.6. ?
Since this change firefox often forget my last used download folder. It is one that I've used a few downlaodactions before, but had changed in the meantime, or it presents the standard/home/user/download.

Changes have been made to Firefox. A new preference will be added to Firefox 11 until now, I regret to say that you're probably stuck with this kind of behavior.

  • Cannot find downloaded files

    Hello!

I just spent several hours trying to download and install a Media manager program frm Verizon (to manage the files downloaded from my phone).  The download dialog box will appear and the download is normally; However, no matter if I try to save or to run or to know if him "close this dialog box...". "is checked or not - at the end of the download, the dialog box disappears and the downloaded file is not found.

After reading other posts, I tried:

    • create a new administrator account and use - no difference
    • disable the AVG software and put IE8 in unprotected mode - no difference
    • Add the name of the file to the 'safe' list in AVG - no difference

I didn't know all of the other posts to this problem where a person actually said something worked!

Any help out there?  I need to download these pictures on my phone for work!

    Thank you

    Hi IDICWorld,

    1. are you able to find other files downloaded from internet?

    2. This only happens with the media manager program?

When you download files, Windows usually saves in the Downloads folder which is located under your user name in the users folder on the drive where Windows is installed (for example C:\users\your name\downloads). When you save the file, you can choose to save it in a different folder. By default, some file types are saved in different folders. For example, if you right click on an image on a Web page and choose Save the image as in the menu, the image will be saved in the default pictures folder. If you don't know where the file has been saved, you can search for it in the start menu.

If the issue is not specific to the program manager of media, then you will need to contact the vendor of the program for more information.

If this isn't the case, using the parental control of Microsoft, y at - it another way I can prevent users from downloading files?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forum.

We understand that you want to block the user to download files using the parental control. However, please be informed that this is not possible, since it is by design. Family Safety allows you to block downloads of files from the web, but not to download files:

  • Downloading files over 2 meg are missing in Firefox but not Chrome or IE

I have a problem when using Firefox to download files in cPanel and even in WordPress when adding themes or plugins. It will download WordPress plug-ins, but I think the point that it starts failing is when the plugin zip file is complete 2meg. It is not related to the server I checked it it works fine in Chrome and IE.

I refreshed Firefox and deleted all cookies and cache several times.

I think it may have started after upgrading Windows 10 but not positive.

    Separate the issue;
    Shows details of the system;

    Plug-ins installed

Adobe PDF plugin for Firefox and Netscape 15.8.20082
Adobe PDF plugin for Firefox and Netscape 10.1.15

Having multiple versions of a program can cause problems.
You must remove older programs. Then download the current full installer.

  • Can not find the downloaded file

I regularly download files, and they will 'always' in the same directory. Now, I downloaded fedora-live-workstation-i686-22-3.iso
of https://getfedora.org/en/workstation/download/and (a) I didn't get the usual "save/open" Download dialog and (b) I can not find the downloaded file. The < downloads - tools > FF screen displays the file as downloaded, but not (AFAICT) where he was placed.

Any clarification would be appreciated. Thank you.

(OP) Well, I downloaded the same file again and this time everything went as it should. For example, some of my 'facts' above must be wrong, but I don't know who. I suspect some personal deficiencies.

  • Why Firefox does not download files correctly?

    Hello
At least 6 times, when I used Firefox to download, it fails to successfully download files.
What happens after about 3 minutes is an error saying failed
I usually like using Firefox, but it cannot be considered reliable. On the other hand Opera
the same file download perfectly. The file was a 667 MB iso image file from Sourceforge
Firefox has managed only 42.2 MB before failing. Little more work is needed to perform downloads

OK, so this I've not exactly "resolved" the issue, but I have a solution. I dropped Firefox and installed Firefox developer edition instead:

Hello, there is a general regression in firefox 27 allowing any files to upload directly to a root drive. Please try to create a subfolder (like D:\Downloads) and set as the default location for downloads...

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
    • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  • Downloaded files disappear instantly at the end

When I download files (regardless of the type: pdf, jpg, exe, etc.) the download shows progress, the arrow turns green and indicates that the file completed, but there is no file. If I take the office as the location, it will appear there briefly and then instantly disappear at the end. Change my download location (for example, download folder) has no effect. 'Open containing folder' produces no action. Try opening the file produces no action. Search for the file name does not work, the file does not exist. (Kaspersky Internet Security 2014. OS = Windows XP.)

    Thank you.

    You can try this?

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue on the subject: config page. A list of parameters must appear
    3. Filter the list by typing in the search bar at top. Enter scanWhenDone. Now you should find the "browser.download.scanWhenDone" preference.
    4. Double-click this preference to set the value to false.
    5. Then, try to download something and see if it still crashes.

Please reply and let us know if this helped you!

If that does not work, re-enable the pref that has been disabled.

  • Firefox can not play videos, download files or run updates

All of a sudden my browser isn't more videos. Firefox tells me my ins plugg java are blocked because there are unstable, but I can't update. later I noticed that I can not download files or run updates. What could be the cause of the problem?

I already tried other things: System Recovery, deleted temporary files, etc. I received an alert from avira anti virus, but this doesn't seem to be a dangerous virus that is causing the problem more I received this alert a day after the trouble started.

More old version of Malwarebytes (cannot update), can not find malware.

I don't have access to another computer to download files or updates and transfer... No idea what could be the cause of the problem, it would indeed be the java plugin? and how to solve?

It turns out that it was a problem with the router/modem, nothing related to malware. I did not know before, but my phone could not also download new applications or updates and a friend's computer had the same exact problems once connected to the network wireless home.

Not quite sure what caused her but restarted the modem and the router and everything works again.

Thanks for your help anyway, if tried my phone earlier, maybe I would have thought it more early then
