Download flash player 10.2 for 2 hours until normal now?
I just download firefox 4 beta this morning. Went to POGO and the screen says to download the plug-ins which led me to install Adobe Flash Player 10.2. Have been installing for over two hours now. I'm doing something wrong? I'm afraid to hit exit and it is the only option in the installation window.

I get an error "this application can run on your pc" message when I try to download flash player for my new Surface running Windows RT.
If you have downloaded Flash player from the Adobe Web site, you will have the version that is compatible with the x 86 / x 64(Win 7, Win8 Pro etc) which does not work on your Windows RT Surface. This is because Windows RT running on ARM processors, and programs written for x 86 / x 64 cannot run on RT.

Normal way to download flash player is to go to
http://get.Adobe.com/PL/flashplayer/otherversions/
and chose its own version.
For Windows 7/Vista/XP, there are three different files for the moment:
flashplayer18pp_hd_install.exe - Opera and chrome (PPAPI)
flashplayer18ax_hd_install.exe - IE (ActiveX)
flashplayer18_hd_install.exe - Firefox (NPAPI)
All have the same size (1 125 056), but are slightly different content.
There is another location:
Size much more: 19 588 096
It seems to work with Firefox and other browsers too.
My question: is the file type of 'global'.msi file - and design to work with all browsers?
That contains the .msi? (I guess that all the above plugins and something more?)
(Actually, the Interior is essentially a .exe file: InstallPlugin_18_0_0_194.exe, size 18 411 184)I would like to learn more about this file, how is it different from plugins on get.adobe.com and where is the information on the net (except the google link).

No, it will not work with all browsers. The NPAPI plugin will work with NPAPI (for example Firefox) browsers, it will not work with IE (which uses the ActiveX control) or PPAPI browsers.
Installer MSI contain additional information that is used by software such as SCCM (System Center Configuration Management Microsoft) management tools. MSI installers are mainly used by business customers to deploy Flash Player within their organization (the page where you found the link, Adobe Flash Player Distribution, contains information on the Flash Player for the distribution of license).

Using my current ID and password I can connect to Adobe. When I try to download the upgrade to Flash Player they ask for my ID and password. When I insert my current ID and password, it is rejected. How can I fix this problem? Is it a bad sign in a former ID, and/or an old password associated with Flash Player?
The password is provided by the operating system and is designed to protect you from accidentally install software. You will get this prompt for any installation outside the context of the App Store.
If you do not need to enter a user name or password when you start your computer, you can probably just leave the password field empty when recognizing this prompt.
