Download speed is lower than that we should

original title: download speed limit

Win 7 Enterprise x 64-Intel i3

When I do a Speakeasy.NET or speedtest.net internet speed test, I always get a 5 Mbps upload speed.   I have a verizon connection 50/25, so I should see about 25 on the upload.

Also, I have another PC on the same router that gets 25 on the upload.  It is also win 7 x 64 with Intel i3, so the problem is on the above mentioned PC and not the router or the internet provider.

Thanks for any ideas why the download speed is limited to 5.

Tom

In safe mode, I disabled all services and the reboted.

I now get fast downloads.  Still not sure what was causing the problem.

The closure of this issue.

Thank you all!

  • How to quickly get 100 + photos from iPhone in pictures on iMac with the download speed very low broadband?

    Hi all

I have an iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 9.3.1 and a retina iMac running OSX El Capitan 10.1.4.  I use iCloud photo library and I like the idea of having all the pictures synced across all devices.  This works well for one or two odd photos I take here and there.

I have just been on vacation and taken 100 + photos with my iPhone and want to create an album of photo printed on my iMac, but the problem I am facing is that it takes so long to get the pictures on pictures on my iMac.

My download speed high speed is very low - on 0.3Mbit / s, so the photos are always download to iCloud from my iPhone now, and I guess it will be another day or two to complete.

Is it possible to get the photos from my iPhone to the iMac more quickly without creating duplicates or spoil my library?

It's so frustrating to have to wait 5 days after her return from vacation before you can start making a photo album.

    Thanks for any help,

    Kind regards

    Ben

You can connect the phone with USB and import or use iTunes sync or Capture of Image - this can cause a problem with duplicates

And of course, you can stop by a store StarBucks, Apple (or other WiFi hotspot with good service) and complete quickly

    PS / ID CC 2014

Hello. I place a picture, don't resize it, real and effective ppi identically 468 (no tranparencies...), view the set of high quality, high quality set up in preferences. Post script screen resolution as a whole (which never seemed to be a problem before, but the "New Documents predefined resolution" this thread is speaking of a disappeared in any case). The images displayed at a resolution about half or less, and exported accordingly, as seen in Acrobat Pro.

    Why? What should do?

    Thank you.

Know everything first, DISPLAY QUALITY THAT is only for your Indesign work faster or look better.

Any file resolution imported in Indesign will not be changed.

The only way to control the outcome of the resolution (not included the indesign effects like shadow), is the OUTPUT PANEL.

If you have a high-resolution PDF in acrobat, you must change the output PDF Panel.

  • Speed upload a third download speed?

Pay for 100 Mbit/s Up and Down. Download speed is close to that, but the download speed is less than 30% of that. Get the same results without worrying if I am connected via Wi - Fi (AirPort Extreme ac Tower) or Mac mini (end 2012) is directly connected via an Ethernet cable. Same results on Mac, iPhone and iPad, too.

Here is some of the best. When a friend connected PC via Ethernet Dell midrange, he got 95 Mbps the two top and bottom. Same connection, even cable.

Is there something on the hardware Apple or Apple by default network settings, which would explain this? Everything that can be done?

Puzzled indeed! Not sure, at this point, why the PC is the only device not affected.

I suggest that we start with the performance of your local network and then to go to the WAN - LAN interface with your AirPort base station.

I use WiFiPerf from the App Store. There are versions for OS X and iOS. It's a little expensive, but there should be alternatives based on iPerf. It works on a client/server relationship and did a great job to measure flow rates of data on wireless networks.

As an alternative, I would also suggest TamoSoft flow Test. It will test the wired and wireless connections. It's free, but they do not have a version of iOS, so you'll need another Mac or PC to make it work properly.

No matter what you use, you will want to run the client on your Mac mini and supported the server on another device. Then create measures of your current network. For example, if your mini is connected to the base station via Ethernet and other Mac, also connected by Ethernet, you should see close reading of 1 Gbps for TCP with little or no errors. Similarly, you must take measures for Wi - Fi. You shouldn't get something close to that.

If both measures are closer to what you want with your network, we know is not your local network, that is the question and we would move to the router-modem interface.

  • Why is it not my wireless network download speed is much slower with the wifi only direct connection?

When I run a speed test using WIFI download speed is much lower than that when I cnnectfrom the modem direct to my pc.

    Hi CHERYLA106,

WiFi uses the wireless connection, this is normal behavior.

In the wired connection, there is no interference and the signal strength will be good. Therefore, you will find good speed with the wired connection.
  • BlackBerry Smartphones download speed!

    Hi guys

I have a bb 9360 and now have a problem! I want to download a lot! Now if I turn my BIS each month I can only download at full speed for 4 or 5 days, then the download speed are low! I tried to contact my service provider, but they told me that my phone may need a software update, but the software of my phone is at most later version witch is Os 7.1! Help, please

    Hello Abrie71

I don't know why your operator said it, but the download speed is certainly depends on our carrier network. This is our carrier server through these streams of data packets to our device. I don't think, and I don't know that it is not a software but the problem within your corporate network.

But I noticed some user reported the same problem all over the world, some carriers restrict the download speed on BIS. Then, you should contact your carrier for more information on this subject.

  • On R7500/R7800 slow download speeds

    Hello:

R7500 and R7800: I see slow speeds (wireless). Wired devices do not exhibit this problem.

After that spend many hours of research and talking with support (which replaced my unit) I found that the problem is with the WAN port. The problem does not exist when you use a switch between the router and the modem netgear. I saw several people in the forums to have this problem so I hope this helps.

I don't think that this workaround is however acceptable.

Is this something that can be fixed with a firmware version?

Steps to reproduce in my case are very simple:

1 - R7500/R7800 connect to a POE Ubiquiti - 24 - 12 10/100 (in my case I have internet citiwide wireless). Make sure your download speed is greater than 20

2 - test the wireless and wired with the netgear router and the router netgear download speeds.

    M.

NETGEAR has released a new firmware for the R7800 that solved the problem (Fw 1.0.2.04)

Purchased a Z-70 a few days ago and was pretty happy with it's performance until I tried to download a file from the internet. I've updated all the drivers available for windows 10 and I'm still only move 4 Mbps in download speed. I think that there may be some sort of software hidden on the laptop that is limiting the speed of dowload it is for a reason any.

Any suggestions would be welcome because I like this laptop, but is seriously considering to get my money for her and another brand.

Found the problem! Had nothing to do with compatibility wifi of any kind! It turns out that my mouse 2.4 GHz has been undermining wifi my laptop for some reason any (does not affect the ther computers). Shot he took and mounted wifi skyrocket! Thanks for the help though!

  • Windows on Windows 7 Pro OS firewall degrades in Internet download speed when activated

We have about 20 users WIN7 Pro on an area that experiences slow down the speed download internet when connection area of Windows Firewall is enabled and the default values. The advertised speed is 50/25, but I get about 0.55 Mbps upload speed whenever I run a speed test of http://www.speedtest.net . All PC users are running A / V software with third-party firewall feature not installed.

So, I decided to turn on a PC brand new Pro win7 without any A / V installed and Windows Firewall running the default settings on the home/work, software connection and got the same results. I tried this method on and off the field network. The only other thing to note is that the LAN is behind a firewall PFsense.

If I disable the download speeds of Windows Firewall that he will immediately return to normal or most often over normal internet upload. Someone knows a problem similar to this?

  • R6200 caps than ethernet wired 200 Mbps of download speed

I recently updated my home ISP service in the service of Time Warner 300mbps. If I make a wired connection to the modem cable from the ISP, I can reach the speed of 300mbps advertised, so I get what I pay for my provider.

However, when I connect the same PC (cable) to the R6200, the download speed is capped at 200 Mbps. This suggests that the question is the R6200 (I'm just the fact to unplug and plug the cable even in another device located a few feet farther).

After 6 weeks, I've been on R6200 manual and parameters and cannot determine if there is a configuration setting, that I need to address, or if there is simply a limitation inherent in the R6200 who is covering my supposed to 200 Mbps gigabit speed I'm not also find in the documentation (or I found something obvious in the research of the community of Netgear).

Other facts: confirmed I have the latest firmware on the R6200 (V1.0.1.56_1.0.43). Computer is a Dell Windows 10 with gigabit ethernet support (16 GB of memory, Intel i7, etc.). While I'm guessing that this is within the parameters of the R6200, I should not deny the fact that it may have something to do with the handshake between the cable modem and the R6200, to complete the cable modem is a ubee.

If someone has had this problem and they solved? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I tried all these things before posting. (I could do worse, but never better than 200 Mbps when it should have been 300mbps.) In recent days, I have been plagued by intermittent Internet outages. The R6200 ended up being at fault, apparently because he didn't want unreliable stay connected. I finally replaced with a R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 and I am happy to say that I get the full the R7000 300mbps. My problem is solved in this regard, although I wasn't expecting to have to replace the R6200.

  • Why is my slower than wifi ethernet download speed when using the airport extreme?

    Hi all

This is my first post here, so please bear with me. I currently own stunted 2011 Macbook Pro 13 inch and an extreme A1521 from the airport. My ISP has promised 50Mbps downloading and sending 10 Mbps. When I connect my MPro via ethernet/wi-fi to my modem I get as promised. When I connect my MPro via wi - fi to the extreme I get 48Mbps download download 9Mbps and it's ok. However, when I connect my MPro via ethernet to extreme I get 8-9Mbps download and 9Mbps. Anyone know how to fix this?

If you check the 'fine print', your ISP has promised "up to" 50 Mbit/s and 'up to' 10Mbps.  The ISP might provide more than that during periods of slow activity, like the days of the week during the day, but much less during evenings when there are many more users on the Internet.

When I connect my MPro via ethernet/wi-fi to my modem I get as promised

I assume that you meant to check the Ethernet connection, you disable WiFi on Mac when you do this. And unplug the Ethernet cable when you check the speed of the WiFi, correct?

If so, this tells you that the Ethernet port to both the modem and the Mac work properly, and WiFi work correctly as well.

When I connect my MPro via wi - fi to the extreme I get 48Mbps download download 9Mbps and it's ok.

If this tells you that the Ethernet connection between the modem and the AirPort Extreme works correctly, and wireless works fine on the AirPort Extreme.

However, when I connect my MPro via ethernet to extreme I get 8-9Mbps download and 9Mbps.

Well, you know that the Ethernet connection between the modem and AirPort Extreme works because you can register 48 Mbps Wireless.

Thus, the possibilities are narrowed to two elements at this stage:

    (1) the Ethernet cable is defective or making intermittent contact. Try another Ethernet cable, to ensure.

    (2) If you have turned off AirPort Extreme and rebooted several times, and you know that the cable between the Mac and AirPort Extreme works properly, then you have reduced the question down to the Ethernet on the AirPort Extreme, which is probably defective switch.

If you have not already done so, try other ports Ethernet on the AirPort Extreme.

As a last resort, perform a reset material on AirPort Extreme and put up again. To perform the Hard Reset... power on AirPort Extreme for a few minutes, then hold it pushed in the reset button on the back of the unit (near the AC power plug) for 7-8 seconds and release. Allow a minute for the AirPort Extreme restart orange light flashing slow.

I once went through two consecutive airport extremes with the same question about 8 months ago, so it can happen.

If you're still having problems, then it is time to take the AirPort Extreme of Apple Store... If you have one near you... or contact the Apple Support directly by clicking on 'Contact the Support' in the upper right area of this web page.

    Good luck!

  • Broadband (download) speed in Win7 x 64 installation slower than expected

I have Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and 32-bit Windows 7 Pro installed on the same desk (separate hard disks), and I noticed that in my 64 bit version, the DSL speed was lower most of the time.

    My Verizon DSL subscription guarantees 1 megabit per second (128 kilobytes per second), or so should be.  I ran a test of speed to cFosSpeed.de on my OS and my laptop Win8.1.  My Win7 64 bit registered 542 kilobits/s (67.8 K / s), and my Win7 32-bit recorded 943 kilobits/s (117.9 K / s).  I tested my laptop, and I get 939 Kb/s (117.3 K / s),

There is nothing in my task manager that indicates that something in my machine, or any software, is cannibalizing my speed broadband in Win7 x 64 and I have Kaspersky running, and he has not picked up what could be the cause.  So, how did my broadband is running at full speed in my Win7 32-bit configuration, but only 57.5% of the speed in my Win7 64-bit installation?  And everyone knows about such a large difference between their installation to 64-bit and 32-bit installation?

I simply started clean my machine, and I get the normal broadband speed in my Win7 x 64 environment.

I allowed each of my services to software one by one, and it wasn't long to find the service software interfering with my broadband speed.  It belongs to my cFosSpeed Service system, software that came with my card mother ASRock Z77 Extreme6.  The software is XFast LAN, v6.61.1880.

I suspect it was because of a bad installation of the driver of the motherboard, my DVD software.  I deleted the software, then reinstalled, and so far, I get a normal speed for my x 64 environment.

  • Network problems? Download speeds low, even when the wired?

    Hello

Recently, I upgraded my router to a router from Verizon to have a connection to 75/75.

However, even when plugged in, my download speed reaches a maximum of 10. However, when you use other laptops, their speeds reach up to 40 or 50 close.

    Here are my specs.

    What's wrong?

    What Alienware do you have?

Some Broadcom drivers have a weird 'green' setting that holds the speed to 10. Check your driver settings (or clean-install a better). In addition, use cables Cat 5e or better and all ports should be 10/100 or gigabit.

You must complete the download of Sierra. It is a very large file and will take some time, especially on a slow Internet connection.

  • LRT224 and WAP801N of TP - Link point of access - low download speed

I just installed a LRT224 for the use of two ISP connections, one is a modem connection cable with 75 Mbit/s and the other a connection ADSL 4 Mbit/s in download. It is reserved for the failover.

For the WLAN access point, I use a WA801N of TP-link v2 with the latest firmware.

When I connect this access point WA801N directly to the cable modem, I get about 75 Mbps of download speed.

What is the case, when I use a LAN cable to connect to the LRT224, which includes 75 Mbps.

But when I connect the WA801n to one of the LRT224 LAN ports, the download speed drops to about 10 Mbps.

The LRT224 is configured to function as a DHCP server for my LAN, all devices get their IP by DHCP to the 192.168.2.x row address. The main WAN connection is configured to use addresses 192.168.0.x, the other WAN connection to use 192.168.1.x.

Everyone knows about similar problems using a WIFI (b/g/n) access point?

    Thanks for any help.

Okay, I think that the question is the access point.
